Hello everyone, I am Daniel Pronk and in today's video I discuss Murphy USA, or MUSA stock. This stock has produced annual returns of 28% since becoming a public company in 2013. It has massively outperformed the S&P, and in this video I explain how it did so, and if it is still looking cheap today.

The strategies are quite rigorous for the regular-Joe. As a matter of fact, they are mostly successfully carried out by pros who have a great deal of skill and knowledge to pull such trades off.

My problem with the thesis of the company is that any company that is based on increasing efficiency instead of revenue will at some point hit the plateau of efficiency (usually much earlier than they would hit a plateau in earnings).
If they have made their business so effective already, I am not sure how much fat is left to trim.

Margin expansion doesn't mean much without organic revenue growth.
I lost over $80k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. Thanks for the analysis! I wonder if there was another time Musa was in a smilar overpriced position and what they did. Seems like there would be a better place to put the cash like focusing on expansion until the p/e goes down.

Another stock similar to Musa is Casey's (CASY). I've never been to a murphy's but casey's has some of the best pizza I have ever tried. They also operate a lot in small town midwest, where they might be the only place to get a bite to eat.

I went from no money to lnvest with to busting my A** off on Uber eats for four months to raise about $20k to start trading with Abby Joseph Cohen. I am at $128k right now and LOVING that you have to bring this up here
A lot of people don't recognize Murphy's USA and they think it's Walmart gas. Their main business model has been to buy up a piece of Walmart's parking lot to setup shop.
With such credentials, it's puzzling that analysts give it only a HOLD rating
The daily volume is very low so most analyst will not recommend or follow it.

I agree with your evaluation of this business. This “growth” has been artificial and will likely not continue. Revenue is flat and margin growth has likely stopped. Buying back shares at a high multiple is unsustainable.
Having said all that, your video title is click-baity.

Sold ATD near the top. All they can do now is just buy out other players. EV charge stations are snake oil. You can only make packs of candy so small.

I would imagine that the emerging EV market will slowly erode Murphys business model. Great past performance though

I sold ATD as I am not sure they will be able to make up for lost gas sales. It seems like there will be a lot of electric vehicle charging stations everywhere so why would someone go to a gas station in the future. Just my opinion. Love your channel though.
they have both gas and electric. ATD is actually doing big things in EU with electric charging.
