- Drag Race Philippines Season 2 Episode 4 Reaction! The fourth episode of DRPH S2 IT OUT and we reacted to it!! The episode started with the doing a fun game in maiden drag. They hot to hop over poles and whoever did it the longest won! It was fun and obvi the pit crew came out! Then for the main challenge it was SNATCH GAME!!! We always getting excited for snatch game each season! We knew some of the people in snatch game. It was ok. We don't know if we missed a lot of the jokes because of the language barrier. But we did not laugh all too much until the end with Adele. The runway was supposed to be inspired by food. The looks were fun. The winner of the 4th episode was Captivating Katkat . We were not expecting that based on snatch. The queens were then told that there would not just be a bottom 2 queens but we would have a bottom 3! The bottom queens were Matilduh , Deedee Marié Holliday and Veruschka Levels ! There was so much happening in the lip sync! We were shocked to see that Veruschka Levels was the 4th queens eliminated.. We then reacted to the 4th episode of untucked! What did you think of the snatch game?! Arizona and Katkat carried that snatch game. If arizona had a better runway, she would have won
Arizona and Katkat DID IT but the rest was MEH
To he honest watching this season's Snatch Game was a bit cringey. I must say, I enjoyed last season's Snatch Game more, it has some remarkble characters and catchphrases (i.e. Eva, Marina & Xilhouette). However, I had a few laughs with Arizona's Adele and her banters with Hannahbeshie.

I mean as a Quezon City Resident since birth, honestly Kat Kat really embodied Mayor Joy really well and it’s especially funny since the jokes have strong references. Like she’s know to be a strong advocate against corruption and our vaccines were in fact Sinovac first hahah 😂 But I agree that the clear winner of snatch game was definitely Adele and the only reason Arizona didn’t bag the win was because Kat Kat had the better look. ❤
I feel like this episode especially would be tough for foreigners to connect with cause of all the references so I totally get your reactions. ❤
This episode was really hinged on Filipino Humor. Even the runway is very Filipino ( Pinoy Delicacies/Dish).

Honestly the funny part in the snatch game is the fact that its full on crickets and that is so funny cause its so awkward and chaotic but WE LIVEE!! 😭😭
Funny how Veruschka is labeled as the most hated queen here in DRPH. Filipinos are not used to this type of a queen. So happy that you guys loved her because honestly, I really enjoyed her this season. Her confessionals were everything! Her looks were also giving. She was great TV! Will definitely miss her too!
I think the hate from the fans mainly came from the leaked issues about how problematic she is before and after the show. She is in fact a good tv, however the issues got too big to control and it escalates, thus leading to the hate.
I actually liked her here as a Filipino since she really brings the drama. She is good TV. Want her on the future All Stars.
Katkat did justice to her character she gets the nuances of her character and the jokes are landing u probably just dont get the reference coz her character is always become a memes here in the philippines. Arizona was funny but she just did a british accent in a filipino pov hahaha❤😂

A word play on "ulam," which means viand in English, or "a meat, seafood, or vegetable dish that accompanies rice in a typical Filipino meal."
M1SS JADE SO - Puto (steamed rice cake). M1ss Jade wore white and black to represent the "puto and dinuguan" combination. "Dinuguan" is pork blood stew, which is black in color, and usually cooked with green chili--the reason why she wore a green chili as a headpiece. She also did a wordplay on "puto," which means "male prostitute" in Spanish. She said, "I'm not a puto. I'm a puta."
BERNIE - Ihaw-ihaw, (grill/grilling) . Bernie wore a grill topped with bangus (milkfish). Ihaw-ihaw is mostly seen either in "carinderia" (roadside eatery) or in the streets.
ARIZONA BRANDY - sisig (a sour meat hot plate). "Sisig" is a Filipino dish made of minced pork, chopped onion, and chicken liver--usually served in a sizzling plate. The ornaments in Arizona's dress represent the different colors of the ingredients of this dish. Arizona picked this concept for her brand, as "sisig" is a popular bar chow (with alcohol). Sisig is sometimes spicy, this is why Arizona's vape is shaped a red chili. The smoke from the vape represents the smoke coming from the sizzling dish.
DEEDEE MARIE HOLLIDAY - ginisang munggo (mung bean soup). DeeDee designed her outfit with uncooked mung beans. She brought with her a "kaldero" (cooking pot), where rice is usually cooked. The dish can come with "chicharon" (fried pork skin), the surprise she pulled out of the pot.
ØV CÜNT - tahong (mussel). ØV used mussel shells and fishnet. (Do I need to elaborate more?).
HANA BESHIE - pastil (steamed rice with shredded meat). "Pastil" is a dish made with steamed rice wrapped in banana leaves with shredded beef, chicken, or fish. The rice, meat, and banana leaves make up the color scheme of the outfit.
MATILDUH - inihaw na bangus (grilled milkfish). Matilduh wore a shiny outfit to represent the scales of the fish.
VERUSCHKA LEVELS - lumpiang shanghai (spring rolls). Veruschka merged elements of Philippines and China, as highlighted by the color scheme of her dress. Although she is Hong Kong-based, she is born in Cebu, a province in the Philippines.
CAPTIVATING KATKAT - tapsilog. "Tapsilog" is a popular Filipino breakfast. "Tapsilog" is a portmanteau of the dish's three components: TAPa (cured beef), SInangag (garlic fried rice), and itLOG (fried egg). All the dish's components make up the color of KatKat's outift--plus, she brought spoon and fork.
why do we keep on doing this? why do we need to explain? do we see other franchises doing this? let them figure it out. I swear, this need to be understood by foreigners is becoming quite cringey.
Anne Curtis is a top-tier actress here in the Ph. An elite, if you must. She fits the next episode well as she had two shows where she was a mermaid. We also refer to her as "Dyosa" which means goddess.
i think Arizona did won the snatch game but Katkat won overall because of the runway look 🤗 either way, both of them deserves to win... Arizona did Adele in a very camp way and we are living for it... Btw, I'm a big fan of you guys
This is actually hard for international audience to understand because the personalities they impersonated are mostly Filipino personalities so most banters and jokes won't be understood.
Tho the only funny ones who got their references and impersonation almost right were Arizona Brandy as Adele, M1ss Jade So as Queen Dura, OV Cunt as Zenaida, Bernie as Madam Inutz, and Katkat as Mayor Joy Belmonte.

Katkat killed the snatch game she's my #1 pic for the snatch game and 2nd for the runway. She really sounded like the Mayor of QC and she's not trying too hard to be funny it just came out naturally. Her jokes are all funny if you know the contexts/ if you're a Filipino.

yeah nah, this season's snatch game is a bit of a step-down from the last.
the obvious snatch standouts were katkat, arizona (the silliness!), and ov. special mention to arizona/hana beshie's collab which was genuinely impromptu. else, a cricket show.
on the runway, the queens embodied Filipino dishes. katkat & ov again stood out; katkat with the campiness/polish & ov with the creativity/vision.
When the snatch game and impersonations at Untucked room, is much more better and funnier than the real one. 😆

My fave queen is Arizona but Katkat deserved that. She was so on point with Mayor Joy, the nuances of the character are what makes her so funny. But Arizona def saved that flat snatch game.
The jokes won't really make sense to foreigners. Most of the jokes are too Filipino. Although, most didn't really land to be honest. Adele and Mayor Joy was actually good and funny.
The "gravity inside the popcorn" is actually from season 1 untucked where Vinas Deluxe were super drunk and said that nonsense.

As a Filipino, i actually enjoyed VL to be there. She is good TV. Haha I will miss the dramas.
Runway references:
1. Jade- pork blood stew on top of a rice cake (called "puto" lol)
2. Bernie- grilled milkfish (usually wrapped in aluminum foil)
3. Arizona- sisig (usually made w/ pork face and ears w/ chilli, native lemon, and egg served on a hot plate hence the smoke)
4. Deedee- mung beans soup (hence dress is made w/ mung beans, usually mixed with pork cracklings)
5. OV- mussels, a top product of her hometown
6. Matilduh- same w/ Bernie
7. Verushcka - lumpia/ filipino spring rolls called lumpiang Shanghai hence the Shanghai reference
8. Katkat- tapsilog, a common combination of TAPa- beef, SInangag- fried garlic rice, and itLOG- egg, hence TAPSILOG.
After watching the episode my first thought was "Poor international reactors!"
But don't worry it's both bad and very Filipino lol

I'm fine on Katkat winning because she had the best runway and was quite funny on the Snatch Game.
Most of the people they impersonate are famous here in the Philippines, sad to say most of the jokes didn’t land but they are so funny especially Adele, Queen Dura and Mayor Belmonte 😂
Also, Adele won the snatch game but her runway look, it’s not like a usual sisig as she is presenting that’s why Captivating Katkat won.
And yes, most of the jokes were not meant internationally since those are Filipino jokes 😂

You guys missed the funniest moment on snatch game with Kat Kat lol She was speaking in Tagalog ( a Filipino language they are speaking) and Deedee as Meryl responded to her what she said in Tagalog, so KatKat was like "oh she understands me" "she understands Tagalog" kind of a b*tch move to kill Deedees flow in having to explain why Meryl understand Tagalog lol, she was forced to switch to Jennifer Coolidge to save herself lol

the persona non grata joke by katkat was referencing another drag queen that got persona non grata because they performed "our father" while dressed up as jesus on a bar persona non grata meaning they got banned in a couple cities. since philippines is dominantly a catholic country and the church has a big impact on everything, the church saw the performance as blasphemy and it became a big issue here in the philippines.
Try the food in the run way(ulam is meal) because the theme is legit foods. Miss jade was a pork blod stew that is eaten with rice cake but white rice is good. And arizona made alot of sense since she did sisig which is a reallygood bar meal or just an actual meal

Honestly as a Filipino, I'm kinda disappointed with this season's smatch game. The only queens who revived this challenge was Arizona, KatKat, OV, and Hana.
+ 33 pataas is refferenced to a Kid's milk commercial "Bonakid". Which has a lyrics of "3 pataas(3 and up)" pertaining to their milk's appropriate age consumption.
Katkat did better than Arizona for me tbh, the references were there, it's a bummer you didn't get most of it😅
I can say that this snatch game has this chaotic humor of Filipinos when it comes to comedy specially in impersonating in bars or comedy clubs so I think it will be very hard for Intenational audience to grasp what's happening, the S1 is way cleaner and more understandable. The Untucked ep is way better than the maxi challenge lol

As a Filipino the Snatch Game was really funny to me. I think the jokes were mistranslated and unrelatable to international audience~

M1ss Jade So was actually doing really great! She was so into character, the answers, the behavior, so good. But the thing is, Mamwa Pao and the other judges may not know her character (Queen Dura). Maybe that's why it looks like her jokes were kinda sloppy. But overall, she did a very great job.
The jokes were off timed and jade doesn't know how to banter. Her snatch game was sooo flat.

I think what made Katkat’s Mayor Joy better or at least as good as Arizona’s Adele is that the Katkat’s delivery is cleaner and the references are clear.

This is the problem with non-Filipinos expecting that the franchise would cater to everyone. You wouldn't find most of it funny because you do not get any of the pop culture references and the humour. And you wouldn't get why Katkat's dress was gag-worthy because you don't have the frame of reference. For example, you thought Jade was a chili. She was Dinuguan and Puto. Every dress on that runway was recognisable to Filipinos, without batting an eye. And that's the difference when you consume the show with prior knowledge and without. Just because you didn't get all the references, doesn't mean it was THAT terrible. The show is made for Filipinos. There is a way to consume the international franchises--always assume that you are the one not getting it. Everyone agrees that the snatch game was a mess. BUT, there were three who were actually funny, coming from a Filipino perspective. Katkat's delivery was actually hilarious, if you knew who she was portraying. While we all agree that Arizona won that Snatch Game, the runway matters, too. And Katkat slayed on the runway, while Arizona's dress was more rice than sisig. If you knew what sisig was, you wouldn't say, "Oh, they liked it. She's gonna win." Even I was disappointed when Arizona walked out and I'm an Arizona stan.
Katkat was funniest if you understand the language. It was also effortless.
Oh man, I wish you guys get the references and stuff (it was still mostly unfunny overall, but it was funny when katkat talked to dee dee in tagalog then dee dee as meryl streep understood the language and the others called her out on why she understood a language she does not know) but yeah as foreigners who doesn't know the reference at all it will be unfunny. Though most of us (non-us born) who doesn't know some of the celebrities we watch on US snatch game, we research them after or while watching and then it helps when we rewatch why it was funny, or we also base it on if Ru laughs or the guest laughs kinda deal hehe (snatch game is difficult, when you don't research the characters first really, so I suggest if you guys have time to research the characters after then maybe rewatch) always love your reaction guys!
Eh, I watch US snatch game without researching any of the characters that I don’t know. If you can make it funny, it’ll be funny. That’s all there is to it.

Most of the personality they impersonate are from Tiktoks, just like Miss Jade So and Matilduh, while Bernie impersonate a gurl who went viral on Facebook and became a personality in Philippines. Katkat impersonate a political mayor, Hana Beshie impersonate a journalist, and Veruschka impersonate Manny Pacquio's mother and OV Cunt impersonate a astrological reader. The jokes are too Filipino humor. That's why maybe you don't understand cause, mostly the queens using the catchphrases of the personality they impersonate. But actually, most of them, the joke, didn't land, or the joke is quite off timing. Especially the runway, too, is all about filipino foods, and the summary of the episode is really a Filipino episode. HAHAHAHAHA!
And the questions were given in snatch game is a filipino terms and Viñas Deluxe quoted quote last season untucked "THE GRAVITY INSIDE THE POPCORN" was mentioned.
it's not your fault that you guys didn't find the jokes funny. it's not a cultural barrier either. only OV and katkat's jokes were landing. arizona and hana beshie were safe solely because the judges were entertained by their crazy antics during the snatch game.

Gurl it's not you. That Snatch Game was not it. It was a bit lackluster and the jokes are quite mid. I think a strong punchline and proper timing was missing from the answers being thrown but anyways, that's just my personal opinion. ALSO, I kinda wish it would be like a Season 14 moment where one or two queens was safe and everybody has to lip sync the next episode lmaooo

Why are they shook over Veruschka leaving? Her lipsync was terrible. And the looks were rented, unoriginal and don't even fit the theme. Just because a look looks good, doesn't mean it was worn for the right occassion.

Hi, Most of them they embodied the characteristics of the person they are impersonating especially the Filipino celeb, what is lacking are the jokes and some of the jokes only filipino can understand that's why it's so cringy to watch.
