I absolutely love your videos! For the last two years, my third grade class has used your videos to minister a couple songs at their class chapel. I now have multiple classes who have learned to worship in Sign Language. We did "The Blessing," "The Lord's Prayer," and "I Speak Jesus." Multiple people came up afterward and shared how it brought tears to their eyes. One family, whose parents had been opposed to their grandkids being at a Christian school, came up and shared how much the grandparents loved it, especially since a family member was deaf. They were excited to show the video of the kids to that person, and they then said how glad they were to have their grandkids learn at our school.
I've put off making tutorials for the old hymns because the language is sometimes tricky, but I made a tutorial for the original Amazing Grace yesterday, so who knows, I may go on a hymn kick 😉
Thank you from me and my class. We've used your videos in Chapel and in our sign language class to help learn sign language. Thanks so much for taking time out to make these videos.
Years ago, I learned The Revelation Song in ASL because it was impossible for me to sing the lyrics without bursting into tearful worship. As time progressed, i have learned more and more songs and built my vocabulary, so I can learn new songs much faster!. I pray our Father feels the blessing as I worship in voice and sign. Lately, many (hearing) people have commented on how seeing the lyrics signed elevates their own worship. See what your tutorials are doing in the Kingdom??? Thank you for your continued service to us all!
You are wonderful, and awesome. God Bless you for sharing your video. This is a beautiful song and you are a great sign language teacher. I am now learning this song in sign language, because of your tutorial.
Wow, beautiful! Studied sign language years ago and haven't used it unfortunately. What a great way to relearn. Thank you! Have you ever signed I Can Go In by Abigal Miller?
Thanks Ernie.... There isn't really a system to how I choose songs. Sometimes it's because I feel God dropped one in my lap, other times I choose a song because they have simple lyrics so they are ideal for beginner signers.
This is awesome! Thank you so much for sharing this powerful song! I taught music at a school that taught ASL and used some of your videos. 😄 We performed this song…but do you know how we could post on UA-cam without running into copyright issues?🙂
Hey Katherine. Send me an email and I'll share my experiences with UA-cam and copyright stuff. signlanguageworship at gmail dot com (I'm writing it out so the bots don't spam me 😉)
I may be wrong as I’m just new to signing isn’t the sign you use for faithful the sign for believe or is that used for both? I learned that faithful was signed with two f’s on top of each other. I may be wrong but I was just wondering. I love your videos I’ve been learning so much. I love to sign and worship. ❤️
Hey Steph. I've also seen faithful signed with two F's. The more sign I learn the more I realize that geographically it varies. It also varies quite a bit generation to generation. My senior friends who sign tend to use different signs then Gen Xers or Millenials. In the end our signs are meant to glorify God, and that's really more about the condition of our heart then the position of our hands. That's what I tell myself when I completely blank on a sign or make a mistake 😜 Thanks for reaching out, and thanks is for learning sign with us! Im glad you're here!!!
Sign Language Worship, so true I’m learning ASL and sign is about the context of the meaning im learning so many signs are used for different meanings. I didn’t realize generation to generation it differs. I guess that makes sense seeing as how even the English language slightly changes with each passing generation. I remember when saying “spill the tea” meant actually spilling a drink and not gossiping lol. I love your videos so much you are so sweet and so relaxing to watch and I’m learning so much. Worship is all about the heart for sure. I was just wondering as I’m still learning thanks for answering my comment! ❤️❤️❤️
@@stefa9983 I'm glad you asked.... It's ABSOLUTELY in the rhelm of possibility that I made a mistake. This little project is definitely an example of God equipping the called rather then calling the equipped. I'm not even close to being fluent in sign. But I love to sign worship, and it's been so amazing to connect with people who feel the same way.
Hi Susan, there can be a couple of reason for that.... The primary reason is that I use ASL signs, but not ASL grammar and syntax. Just like every language ASL has a word order that they follow (Subject, Verb, Object/Time)..... Sign Language Worship uses English grammar for 2 purposes. A) we are a channel dedicated to using sign language as a form of personal worship and 2 - this channel is geared to beginners. The 2nd reason that it might look a little different is that all translations are idea to idea, so I might choose different signs then someone else does The 3rd reason it might look different is that ASL is a living language and the signs can change by geographic region as well as from generation to generation
Love the song but please change the title to PSE. This is all English word order and some English signs. It's not true ASL. Don't get me wrong, I sign PSE. ASL word order is tough, especially when listening to English words. Nothing wrong with PSE but it's very different than ASL.
Hi Jennifer. Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment. It's been a challenge to title my videos. I am aware that the videos are PSE, and for a time I labelled them that way. Unfortunately that led to a lot of comments and emails asking what kind of signs the video displayed. Most people who access my videos are new to signing and don't understand what PSE is and how it relates to ASL. This cover is the final video in a tutorial series and in each previous video I ask newcomers to read the description of the video and the description contains that information that these videos are PSE using ASL signs and explains what that means. Hope this helps. I don't mean to be tricky, I'm just trying to help people use sign to worship Jesus without having to answer a bunch of emails and comments daily. Hope this clears things up. Lots of love to you Jennifer. Have a great day ☺️

I like the way you sign. You are clear, but I need lots of old fashioned hymn tutorials-In the Garden, Blessed Assurance, It is Well, etc.
I've put off making tutorials for the old hymns because the language is sometimes tricky, but I made a tutorial for the original Amazing Grace yesterday, so who knows, I may go on a hymn kick 😉
I did it!

I have a question. When I watch other signers doing the same songs their signing looks totally different than yours
