    Plz do detailed video on Obsidian - I loved your notion walkthroughs. There might be many people with great philosophies or templates but I understood how to use the app best - Thanks to you :)
    Although I have moved to Obsidian few months back for notes. Your how to videos would be great :)

    Thank you so much for sharing! Very clear and concise. Your video has clarified many of the questions I had about using Obsidian for large, inter-connected, historical research. Looking forward to more of your 'how to' videos.

    YAAAAY!! I'm so happy to see you on Obsidian! I switched from notion, to remnote and then remnote to obsidian and currently I feel like Obsidian is one of the best so far. (Granted you do need to lean on Plugins for a lot of stuff).

    Hi Red, thanks for sharing, this video is very clear and useful. Do you use Latex inside Obsidian to write a paper? I don't know anything about Latex but apparently the paper configuration is better and it would not break the workflow in writing the document. That's why I would like to learn how to use it.

    Very interesting and I’d like to ask you the reason you made this video about obsidian as you seem to be more a notion user. Do you really use obsidian to write?

    • @RedGregory
      @RedGregory  2 роки тому +1

      I prefer obsidian for distraction free markdown writing. Notion is great for organizing research in databases, that is, if the database structure is beneficial for the subject. For this, since there’s so many names and stories to keep track of, Notion is great in addition to writing the prose in Obsidian.

    I chose RemNote over Obsidian because it detects duplicates more accurately. Obsidian is my preferred choice for private notes and permanent notes processed in RemNote, it is technically easier

    That Windows 98 theme is seriously messing with my head!! I’m trying to listen and understand, and then I get weirded out by the theme, and it just doesn’t compute that I’m looking at Obsidian. Too many years using actual Windows 98 I guess. 😄

      I was thinking the same thing! Couldn't figure out why I was looking at something resembling an old version of Windows. Then I thought maybe there was a different program that she was using that was called Obsidian lol

    Do I need to do something special to enable the "Pandoc Plugin: Export as PDF (via LaTeX)" option? I've installed both pandoc and pdflatex but I can't seem to have that option. Thanks!

    • @RedGregory
      @RedGregory  3 роки тому

      You may have to go to settings for Pandoc plugin and scroll to PDFLatex Path. To find the path ... In the terminal (for Mac) type "which pdflatex", and it should give you the path to paste into the setting. For windows, "Get-Command pandoc" in terminal.

    Is there a particular reason for using the Windows 98 Theme?
    I am just beginning to learn Obsidian to develop a bible study program.

    I've been using Obsidian to play around with some short film scripts, and Dataview has been immensely helpful in identifying which scenes are not fully written, which scenes have which actors, etc. I haven't yet found a program that is better overall than the Obsidian and Dataview combination, especially in terms of customization and speed.
