A lot of the Hezbollah rockets are not designed to actually cause any damage they are designed to activate the iron dome system. They can send a rocket that costs about $5k, and it costs $125k to shoot it down so daily activation of the iron dome system can cost millions of dollars.

I'm not sure if you follow news a lot or not, but terror organizations usually claim attacks they have nothing to do with just to get their message across.

According to sources quoted by the Israeli press, the Houthi drone flew over Egypt, along the edge of the Sinai peninsula and the along the coast of Israel and then turned at Tel Aviv.
Detecting rockets is actually much easier than detecting slow flying objects. There are no “innocent” fast-flying objects out there. Small, slowish objects, on the other hand could be small civilian planes or even groups of birds. Much more human attention would required to figure out what these things are.

If you want radar to detect such a small drone you can crank up the resolution, but then they'll also detect birds, kitesurfers, random flying debris like plastic bags. You'd be scrambling jets every day, and cost of flying one goes well into 5 digits per hour (in € or $).

One thing not mentioned is the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance targeting of Iron Dome control sites. That may be a factor in the drone getting through. It may have also been allowed to pass through.

Making it even more difficult, is if they are launched, intentionally, during a storm or heavy fog which obscures many radar systems from detecting small, low flying UAVs. Also, the size of the drone is not the size of an SUV; Not even close. It is said to be a Samad-3, nicknamed "Yafa". The Samad-3 is a longe-range version of the Samad UAV. It is modified to have an extended fuel tank on top. The overall length is only 2.8m (9.19ft) with a wingspan of 4.5m (14.76ft). By comparison, the larger Watchkeeper drone (UK) comes in at 6.5m long (21.33ft), with a 10.9m (35.76ft) wingspan and has a takeoff weight of 485kg (or 1069lbs); The average SUV weighs in at 4.63m (15.2ft) in length, 1.98m (6.5ft) in width and 3000-6000lbs; one must also consider that the length, width, height of an average SUV covers much more area than that of a mid-sized military drone as well.
As an add, I think the term proxy when referring to Hezbollah and the Houthis is incorrect. It has been assigned to them by the media and politicians, but is incorrect by definition. A "proxy" would mean they take their marching orders from a foreign entity; In this case Iran. This is not true. They receive some funding and arms support from Iran, but they aren't led by Iran. They are independent of Iran when determining their strategy, tactical operations, etc etc. Whether or not Iran's politicians and military, benefit from their actions is irrelevant. For better or worse, how many times has the U.S. funded resistances in one corner of the globe or another? Yet we never here these called proxies of the U.S.; well, in the case of Israel, it may be a correct assumption 😜

Launching rockets at Israel, or any country regardless if they land or or not, it’s an automatic act of WAR. The Houthis have launched so many rockets at Israel since October 7, and this is the first time Israel retaliates on Yemen. Israel had many chances to attack Yemen before, but chose not to. Instead, Israel kept giving them warnings to stop launching rockets at them, or there will be consequences. Not only did the Houthis take full responsibility of the attack, but the drone was also confirmed to be an Iranian drone. If Israel needed an excuse to attack Yemen’s Houthis, they could’ve used the rocket attacks on Israel by the Houthis a few months back, and Israel would have a reason to attack the Houthis.
