My father was in the 1971 war. He was in Pirganj, Bangladesh, and was in 2/5 Gorkha rifles C company. I have the picture that was captured in Bangladesh Pirganj. There is a line: "Missing are those (a) who laid down their lives while fighting gallantly." This is the exact line that is written in the photograph. My father was just a young 20-year-old boy at that time. He used to mention that Major saab was very brave and he used to lead the team. My father was there in a bunker for 10 days and during that time he did not change the army boots and socks so the hair actually grew out of socks and when he tried to remove it the skin came out with socks. My Elder uncle was in 3rd Gorkha rifle and he also participated in 1971.
