Yes this works 100% if you know what you are doing and how to hold the stick or rods properly. I knew an old man who could tell you how deep the water was and get it within a foot and also which stream of underground water had the most flow on your property. The worse trouble where we live is the different types of water you could end up drilling for. One area could be good limestone filtered water but just one field over coud be sulfur or iron water. Luckily on our farm is the limestone but just 1/4 mile up the road it turns to sulfur.
This is completely false and not at all how groundwater works . Absolutely zero confirmed evidence for this practice exists beyond anecdotal stories, and every time scientists have designed a controlled experiment to study it, the so-called "professional" dowsers have never demonstrated a statistically significant ability to guess correctly - literally not once. In other words their results were the same as someone who was just blindly guessing. Groundwater doesn't usually flow in discrete "veins" like underground rivers, it's more analogous to taking a bucket of dry sand and then filling it part way with water - the water flows throughout the entire medium and so no matter where you stick the rod, you're probably going to encounter water.

I don't have a lot of experience with this, but I was taught this by my cousins down in Mexico. They would find a Y shape in the branches of one of the plants growing nearby. Break the Y shape off, taking all the leaves and other stems off. Then, you have to flip the Y upside down, holding the 2 ends in your hands. BUT - you have to slightly bend them outwards, to create a mild tension between the 2 sides. Just hold it steady, and walk along. In recent years, several studies have been conducted to test the effectiveness of water divining, but the results have been inconclusive, and there is no scientific explanation for how or why it might work. Some researchers suggest that any apparent success of water divining may be due to chance, subjective bias, or the ideomotor effect.
its also been proven it doesn't work with independent studies. Like havin 3 rows of small holes place bottled water in random hole cover all 3 rows an have 1 person on each row an see if they can pick the right hole the water is in an they failed bad
The truth is that there's ground water everywhere. If you drill where his stick points, there's probably gonna be water there. You should ask stick guy where there isn't any water, drill there's probably going to be plenty of water there.

I live in Southeast Ohio. I used green (freshly cut) willow, shaped the same way this man's stick was. I chose willow because a few old-timer Appalachians around here said that's what I should use. I think it is because willow is a water-loving tree... it grows where the ground is wet, like next to my pond. My wife and I both used this same technique, having never done it before, to locate the exact location of a known covered well on my property. It worked for both of us in the same exact spot, which is right where the last property owner told us the well is. We haven't dug up the ground yet to uncover the top of the capped-off well casing and confirm our findings, but I have a lot of confidence that its right there. My grandmother used to do this, although I never watched her do it. I just know that every once in a while someone would call her to come find water on their land, and she always got excited about it. Sha had a great reputation among the farmers for always finding water. She used green Y-shaped branches that she would cut off of our apple trees.
The trick is to visualize underground running stream of water or water veine or just say it in your head then it should work if not practice. We all have this gift. God gave it to us all to use it
My guess is you could drill anywhere on that property and hit water. It seems the assumption is that water is located in one little spot that you have to find. It's likely that the man with the stick evaluated the property visually decided where the best place for water to be located and then put pressure on the rod so that it would spring downward with just a little hand movement probably psychologically moving the stick to where he had already contemplated he wanted it to be. Remind me of a fortune teller. This is absolutely illogical from any scientific standpoint. I remember reading a long time ago that the stick is drawn to the water because it's made of wood. Lol.
Fresh. Hazel is the traditional wood of choice in Europe. In North America, Witch Hazel, Willow and Peach are all typical. Peach is the one I've observed the most success with.
Divining is the method by which some people claim to be able to locate water by walking over an area until they observe a response with an apparatus such as a forked stick, bent rods or a pendulum, usually held in front of them. It is difficult to objectively determine whether divining actually works. There is at present no scientific explanation as to why it should work and when it has been tested impartially it has been no more successful than would be expected by chance (M. Price 1985. Introducing Groundwater, George Allen & Unwin Ltd.). A water diviner can walk over an aquifer such as the Chalk and predict that water will be found at a certain location; a hydrogeologist knows that a well drilled almost anywhere on the Chalk will encounter some water. The expense is not in finding the water but constructing a borehole to allow it to be pumped out. However it is not possible to completely discard the subject of water divining. Some people seem to be able to locate buried pipes with the aid of rods or twigs. One theory for this is that the muscles in the body react to some electromagnetic effect caused by the presence of the metal or the water flowing through the pipe; the rods then amplify this effect so that the searcher becomes aware of them. Another theory is that some diviners know from their experience and local knowledge where groundwater is likely to be located and subconsciously cause the reaction. Whether or not divining actually works is a matter of debate. Even if the electromagnetic theory works for pipes, there is no reason why it should detect the slow, diffuse movement of groundwater.
My dad done it everytime i whent with him and got water on a cross aquavir exactly the same way he done it...he even got it right when they drill the depth also the heald but sadly my dad is bedridden I should have paid more attention...you can tel me all kinds of logical explanation, but sometimes things can't be explained and its only a gift from God

ua-cam.com/video/8zR3chiVFtw/v-deo.htmlsi=hWlRec_EdTHnnyRt
I'm from Zim and I know a few fellow farming families that it has worked for
Am from Zim we use this method, and most boreholes were sighted using this method, although they would recheck with modern technology,,,, several wells are dug using this method.
Works in SA too
Can someone tell me the process and what to do for this? Or is it as simple as it seems?
The water underground creates a magnetic force that is very weak but is able to effect the wood so he is holding the sticks and when water is present, it brings down the stick and that means there is water below you
@@nnourrrrr Have you ever seen that that the magnet can attract wood or bamboo, moreover water is non magnetic substance, it is impossible to locate the underlying water with the help of mere branches of wood.

My Great Grandfather used to do this.
And my grandfather showed us how to do it over the phone and it really works!!!
Sorry buddy, hydrogeolgist here. It's a grift. Anyone can do it.
Look up some USGS local geology data, look for some big healthy trees and wave your arms around to look legit.
Honestly, it's probably a more solid career move than building MODFLOW/FEFLOW models. Engineering consulting is just the worst. The majority of our clients are morally bankrupt, and thanks to liability insurance, our low profitability means we have to take whatever we can get.
How on the phone, help me please
Does this work in cities as well?
Indian people don’t wear shoes during water checking, coz they say that you should have earth connection with your feet
Yes!! We are supposed to be grounded with earth. Shoes ruined our deep connection

I use the metal rods here in South Africa too. It was unbelievable to witness but easy to teach. I can do it as well
Please teach me
What we're gunna do now, is drill for water, I can't tell you how deep, but there's water nearly everywhere 😂😂😂

How accurate is that please? I am located in a sandy area and the water here is tooo deep! it's about 1200ft deep.. which is about 350meters. So I been searching throughout the internet and i came across sooo many Detector/ Underground Well Explorers, but I am lost! should i buy these devices that might cost me thousands of $$ or just go with the traditional way of using cooper ?! please help me guyz

People in my neighborhood we’re having trouble hitting water even after a 2 or 3rd attempt. They called the water witch and found water!
Is it adry stick?
We use the same way in morocco but what i dont understand is how this method was discovered??
It doesn't work any better than random chance.
this is great! just learned how to find the water on my land!~ thank you
When there is water the stick forces to point downwards if there is no water the stick force upwards.
Basically is that stick a dry one or?
Amazing. What do you call this technology
Dowsing or "wayer witching"
This worx 100%. We detected over 56 waterholes in Namibia with this method. Even detecting minerals this way works 100% only determining the depth remains a challenge
In Pakistan we also use the method, and trust me it works don't know how but it did, their might be two condition 1. It is true, 2. Every point is filled up water.
its true even my father have for same process ground water find. some few people having this energy
It's not true.
When the wrists get tired, the stick falls😂😂😂
How did you do that?
Indian drill borewell using this technique in our farm
Can it tell the depth?
At least this stick is dropping down, there are those with sticks that go sideways. Its funny to see those sticks staying straight and fighting the wind 😂😂
What kind of tree do you use or you can use any stick
Hazel, Witch Hazel, Willow and Peach are typical
Lol i made fun of a eledery men showing me this technique. He was saying how they used to find water back then.
And i thought he is making up a story.
Shocked to see its actually a thing.
Please, how can I learn this techniques
In recent years, several studies have been conducted to test the effectiveness of water divining, but the results have been inconclusive, and there is no scientific explanation for how or why it might work. Some researchers suggest that any apparent success of water divining may be due to chance, subjective bias, or the ideomotor effect.
its also been proven it doesn't work with independent studies. Like havin 3 rows of small holes place bottled water in random hole cover all 3 rows an have 1 person on each row an see if they can pick the right hole the water is in an they failed bad
@@matthewmuise5138 stagnant
The truth is that there's ground water everywhere. If you drill where his stick points, there's probably gonna be water there. You should ask stick guy where there isn't any water, drill there's probably going to be plenty of water there.
It's inconclusive for me.
I'm not sure if the stick had anything to do with it but I had the urge to pee really bad.

Can you explain to me how you did that i would love to try it

How to hold the stick ?
What stick did u use to find the water on the ground? Thank you
Special stick doused in snake oil. Best there is. Only $79.99 (plus shipping and handling)
Hazel, witch Hazel, Willow and Peach are all typical. Some people have luck with other woods. Needs to be fresh cut.
curious how it work, the water suck the stick down?

The trick is to visualize underground running stream of water or water veine or just say it in your head then it should work if not practice. We all have this gift. God gave it to us all to use it
This is a very fun way things to do during this pandemic
ua-cam.com/video/8zR3chiVFtw/v-deo.htmlsi=hWlRec_EdTHnnyRt
I mean, you could do that where i live, or just dig anywhere... it's all water under there. Dont need a stick or rod to find it.
Lol.
That's not a guess. That is literally why most people believe in this fraud.
No this trick works most of the time we use it in Pakistan too
Do i neeed to use fresh stick or dry stick?
Fresh. Hazel is the traditional wood of choice in Europe. In North America, Witch Hazel, Willow and Peach are all typical. Peach is the one I've observed the most success with.
Do you need a fresh woman or a dead womanI mean damn bud Use common sense
Waar haal je zo stok bij action winkel😮
Here is your proof:
I have watched my daddy do it and my 1st husband did.
Never once did we drill for water and miss if they had "witched" it!
