Thanks so much for posting - I was watching the studio version like others before seeing this live version. I read that the song was about his exwife Sara. Allen Ginsburg thought it was a statement about politicians and was the greatest protest poem put to music.
I lay here with tears streaming listening to this. One of Dylan’s best. 😢

This is a good version, but it's not quite as untamed/wild as the very similar recording that appeared on Hard Rain. Idiot Wind is a song that gets better the more unhinged the singer sounds, I think.

Mark Casserly According to the source, it's from Fort Collins, in May 23, 1976. Not too sure about it though.
Not Fort Collins. His intro guitar there is much more jagged and he sings "false ideas" instead of "big ideas". Plus "you are on the bottom" and "your corrupt ways" are not angry and biting enough.
