- Bob Dylan. The 60s rock star and he won a god damn Nobel Prize. And he didn't even want it. Though sadly he doesn't have a lot of music videos. I thought tit was a shame, so I decided to help fill the world with more. This is my first to the New York Session of Idiot Wind.

Longer description:
Bob Dylan is a genius.
The undisputed heavy weight of songwriting.
He is who every singer-songwriter who came after is still trying to be. And not one would be ashamed to admit it.
He is a legend in his own time.
Elvis Presley may very well be the King, but Bob Dylan is the Midwest answers to Elvis.
And no one gets to answer the King. Except Bob Dylan.
Who needs no introduction, because he's 1960s rock star and he won a god damn Nobel Prize. And he didn't even want it.
Sadly, Bob has a lot of songs, but not a lot of music videos. I'm assuming after he was done inventing them, he felt there was nothing more to really be done and lost interest.
I thought that was a shame because I love music videos and Bob Dylan. I also love making music videos, so I decided I would help fill the world with more Dylan videos.
This is my first to the New York Session of Idiot Wind.
If you like it please comment and I'll do more.
If you would like to request a song, comment with that, too. However, Bob Dylan's mafia down in Columbia is pretty tough on UA-cam and any of Bob's recorded songs I cannot work with.
These videos use common domain footage from many many different sources and take a very long time for me to make. I won't be able to do every request.
I only wish one day there could be a credited system and ability to use Bob Dylan's recorded albums in original work on UA-cam. That would be a dream for me, as well as a life sentence staring at my computer.

The original version of Idiot Wind can be found on the album Blood on the Tracks. New York can be found somewhere after Old York. And Bob Dylan can be found standing in line in the rain to see a movie staring Gregory Peck, but you know it's not the one that he had in mind.
Idiot Wind written by Bob Dylan
Recorded in New York, probably
Written in a room somewhere, maybe
Originally recorded by: a machine
And stolen by everyone
Including me, who downloaded this song off of UA-cam from:

This is fantastic! So unique, a one of a kind just like Dylan. I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish and I commend you for going against the grain of the naysayers. You went electric. It must have taken you a great deal of time to create this and I'm super glad you did. Keep up the good work Mr. J. Robert Oppenheimer.
Thank you. ❤️ It did take some time. Glad I made it, just for that one you.
@@JRobertOppenheimerVideos you just havnt got very far in making the Bob videos... in 4 + years...
It was predictable...
That it was a idea that youd give up on.
And Bob Dylan can be found standing in line in the rain to see a movie staring Gregory Peck, but you know it's not the one that he had in mind.
Love that reference. One of my favorite songs of Dylan. One of hundreds, of course.
Mr X what's ironic about brownsville girl is that I've been lucky enough to bob live on numerous times, but the scary part is I saw Gregory peck shooting a film in Wales called arabesque when I was 10 years old I'm now 65, and when you wrote the opening lines I thought spooky 👍.
Beautifull version! This is such a great song, it is so good Dylan is able to make so many versions of it.
Absolutely stunning, only bob can write such masterpieces where you picture everything he's singing about so haunting.
this sounds so much better in my ears than the original track in the album. Love
The quality was the first thing I noticed xoxo
This is the best version Thankyou for posting
" The highlight of my career? This is easy ... When ELVIS recorded one of my songs ... "(Bob Dylan).
I have listened to this song too many times to count, but never exhausted its subtle kaleidoscope of meaning and emotion. Wildfire - your fine video adds rich new historical and cultural associations, relating the white, Western individual male through the conflicts of love and loyalty to the nation/state and the idea of “nature”.
I'd pay for more of this type of thing.
Thank you for the comment and it's my pleasure to have done it. The knowledge that someone else felt something for it is appreciation enough. I'm working right now on deciding what song to begin next and many more after.
Please don't stop. It is perfectly visual Dylan.
You know there is all the debate about which version is better. Man I love this one so. Desert island for sure. What other artist could/would leave this masterpiece in the can? But we are all the luckier for many different versions and their availability.
Thank you Bobby.

The way the video is set to the music is stunning. I think this is
the best version of the sing too. I just discovered this a week ago
this is probably the 5th time I've watched & listened to it.
Happy Birthday Bob. And thank. Thank you.
Fantastic version of IW and beautiful visuals . Thank you ✌️☮️
There are really no words
This is amazing!
Thank you. I'll be beginning work on another one soon.
J Robert Oppenheimer May i ask for what song?
She's Your Lover Now
Or perhaps not. I'm glad I did a test upload before going very far into it, because it came back as blocked worldwide by UA-cam's automatic Content ID system.
I'm not sure why, because I downloaded it from someone else's upload here on UA-cam that obviously passed.
I may have to do another song, if I can't figure out what the difference is.
It is indeed

Id never call Dylan a rock star. He certainly was not in the 60s
That's okay, he's a rock star to me.
FYW'sN: Ironically, in his long history, I feel that the ONLY decade he WAS a 'rock star' was at that time. Just look back to Dylan's mid-60's tour. After that, maybe he was just tangled up in blue . . .
Beautiful work Sir ❤❤❤
So good
Great
Listened to this everyday for a month during my divorce..
This video 😍
And Dylan was a fucking poet
groovy
Thank you for watching.
Sending you some groovy
Bob thanks for the video. I will think of a song that you can put up on you tube as you suggested once again thanks for idiot wind
Michael McLoughlin
Wildfire-I like this ,Do more. Of course, you had one of his best songs to
to work with. But I'm sure you can find others.
nice job
Thank you.
Which New York take is this ? It is my favorite version. Please.🎉
Very eclecticism
I really appreciate the effort you put into this & I especially like this version of Idiot Wind. That being said, your video has absolutely nothing to do with the song. Nothing at all.
great job. of course, it was weird, but so was the magnificent song and this magnificent version, equal to the official version, and Dylan is pretty strange sometimes, too. BTW, the name of the movie?
Thank you. The clips are from various historical educational videos and other archival footage from the 1950s-1960s. There would be a lot to list.
Was it the guy on the tuba?
I don't want to say my construction or thought process that I imagined as I created it. I would rather leave it subjective to the viewer.
Guys, if she ain't got the time, don't make the space.
Are you being watched?
Amanda Harris we’re all being watched.
what is this film ?
this is more restrained than the 'official'..the minnesota one is angry and no organ.
he wanted the money tho or he would not have gone to Norway for it!
He didn't. He sent Patti Smith.
Which one is Dylan?
I don't want to say my construction or thought process that I imagined as I created it. I would rather leave it subjective to the viewer.
I think the lyrics to this one is less accessible
They wont be able to grasp that point of view
Gee, if only she'd had contraception....
Lol

FuckYouWhosNext He wasn't?
He's a rock star in my eyes, so I'm calling it. You can call him anything, but no matter what you say... ;)
FYW'sN: Ironically, in his long history, I feel that the ONLY decade he WAS a 'rock star' was at that time. Just look back to the mid-60's tour. After that, maybe he was just tangled up in blue . . .
Star brightly shining
Great
