- Traffic lights - they bring us to a standstill in order to keep London moving. The world's first traffic light was installed outside Parliament in London 150 years ago. And of course they've changed a bit since then. BBC London’s Transport Correspondent Tom Edwards reports.

Why was traffic light mostly credited to Garret Morgan and not John Peake Knight since he was the very first to invent traffic light system?

The first system of traffic signals was installed as a way to replace police officer control of vehicular traffic outside the Houses of Parliament in London on 9 December 1868.
This is why the American education system failed you. It was created in London decades before the U.S.
