This is Oasis playing their first stadium concert at their home football stadium Manchester City..about 40,000 people..I think the song was written as a response to Nirvana writing " I hate myself and want to die" song..great videos..please check out the importance of being idle..cheers
Noel wasn't taking an issue with depression its about putting out most particularly songs like 'I hate myself and I wanna die' when you're audience is young people who are hugely influenced by their music heroes, it wasn't a direct retort to grundge/nirvana but its about saying if your life is shit, don't get down, get up and give life everything you've got. 'Maybe I will never be all things I want to be, now is not the time to cry, nows the time to find out why' a more positive message for young working class kids to aspire to
Cast No Shadow, Live Forever, Rocing Chair, Wonderwall, Champange Supernova, Gas Panic, She is Electric, Columbia, Crying Heart Out, Songbird, Don't look back in anger, Dtand By Me, All around the world, Supersonic, Morning Glory, Don't go away, Shakermaker, Go Let it out, Let there be love, Married with Children, Roll with it, Be here now, Cigarettes and alcohol, D'you know what I mean?, Fade in out, Hello, Listen up, Lyla, Little by little, I'm outta time, Talk tonight, Up in the sky ...and many more .. Im tired already ... ♥️♥️♥️
Love Oasis so much! They were the bridge between the Madchester sound of the late '80s and early '90s and emerging Britpop scene of the mid '90s. The Madchester scene had Stone Roses and Happy Mondays. The 'Big Four' of Britpop were Suede, Blur, Oasis and Pulp. You may enjoy I Wanna Be Adored by Stone Roses, Kinky Afro by Happy Mondays, The Drowners by Suede, The Universal by Blur and Common People by Pulp.
Power Trip - Executioners tax. Arguably one of the most exciting new metal bands, and whose singer has suddenly and unexpectedly passed away a week ago. He was the coolest dude ever, beloved by many. That would be a nice homage
Oasis are another Manchester band, but extremely different to Joy Division who you were watching a few days ago and reflective of a very different era in the UK. Maine Road used to be the home of Manchester City FC when they were absolutely terrible in the 90s. They have since been bought by the ruling family of Qatar, have much more money, are much more successful and have a newer stadium in a different part of town. All other football fans tend to dislike them immensely. In the mid-90s the UK was a fairly optimistic place (the economy was starting to pick up, the Conservative government was about to be thrown out) and the Gallagher brothers Noel (Songwriter/Guitarist) and Liam (Singer/Standing with arms behind back) certainly benefitted from this. However, I would warn that I go along with the orthodox view that after the first two classic albums and associated singles/b-sides, the quality of Oasis' songs falls off enormously. A high intake of drugs will do that to you. In terms of Liam's style and attitude, have a look at Ian Brown, the frontman of The Stone Roses (again from Manchester) to see where he may have got the idea from.
Oasis where a much better as a live band in my opinion. Maybe their albums where just too well produced and on stage in front of a crowd they where a bit more natural, the songs where a bit more fast paced etc. I remember at their height they would have some of their shows broadcast live on tv. I still go back and watch those from time to time.
wonderful reaction man, hey as much as liam was an awful human and generally a bad lad he was a amazing front man, backed up supremely by Noel and the others guys, their music is full of feeling an that's all I need to enjoy the fuck outta it 👏
I think the comment was taken out of context slightly, he was talking about a song they had released I hate myself and I want to die and felt it was a bad message to send to kids. I think he was critical of that songs message as he had a lot but was sending that message to kids not so much mocking his mental health, so he wanted a song with a positive message. But if I’m wrong it’s certainly not a nice thing to say.
it just gives me goosebumps when lennon appears on the screen!
Slide away. So good. Especially live.
Liam’s voice in the 90’s was on another level. So unique
Oasis in the mid 90s in Great Britain were as big as the Beatles 👍🎶🇬🇧

Exactly. Depression and anxiety are millennial issues. Noel wasn't writing about depression at all. He couldn't give a rats behind about depression.
@@TonyMontanaDS you've completely missed the point of this comment, and no, depression is most certainly not a millennial thing!
Was there!!!

I see that Spurs coyote behind you. Thanks for Oasis. Love them.
Also, interestingly enough, I've recently read that Noel Gallagher is left handed but he plays right handed.
Great reaction man, Liam Gallagher mostly has his hands behind his back.
Please react to Oasis - Bring it on down
Oasis - Slide Away (Knebworth 96)

I'm with you on the depression stuff. It really annoys me when people say someone is rich and successful and what have they got to be depressed about.
I'm jealous of your hair. 🙂
Its cold in Manchester
Oasis - Supersonic (Earls Court 1995) - much better live than their studio for most of their songs
You should react to more Oasis ! Try rock and roll star live from Manchester 2005

Got to do slide away at knebworth it will blow your mind

It's the old Manchester City stadium. It's outdoors as you say.
Howard from The Big Bang Theory?
Morning Glory River Plate stadium

Noels a lefty he just couldn't afford a left handed guitar.
"Cast no Shadow". It's Oasis's best song. Oh, and the studio version is the one to go with. The live versions are meh.
Take it you've never seen cast no shadow at Knebworth Park then lol
@@sespa7867 I have. I just prefer the studio version.
Are you on crack? Cast No Shadow at Maine Road and Knebworth are much better than the album version.
Cannot recommend the song Sunglasses by Black Country New Road enough to you
Pixies - Rock Music
