This is honestly the best tutorial I've found. I've been crocheting for about a year (super new) but it's all self taught thanks to UA-cam. I still have trouble counting rows and lining things up but this makes so much sense to me. Thank you!
You explained this all very well!! I had to fast forward a bit due to me already knowing most of what u had done but I listened to some of it and u explain very well ! You did a wonderful job!!! Thanks for adding the extras to this video I needed help with the patch since I've never done on and I'm considering the tassels !
Yay! No problem. 😊 Love adding the patches to the scarf. Makes it feel officially Harry Potter. Haha! I try to timestamp as much as I can in each video description just in case you only need a portion of it. So happy you found my video helpful! ❤️
Ah! You are absolutely correct! I didn't specify that I was using the colors in the movie vs the book. Thank you for your help! I'm going to edit the description and add some options for the original colors. ❤️ Thank you again!
Thank you! I wanted to crochet one for months now and I'm finally able to do it! I used different tassels (multicoloured yarn) and I don't have a patch yet tho
@@HookandSword Thanks for replying! I've figured out a pattern for the Prisoner of Azkaban style scarf because that one is my favourite one Here it is: 10 rows of primary colour 2 rows of secondary colour 2 rows of primary colour 2 rows of secondary colour Repeat until the length is fine with you!
Depending on which yarn type you are using. If you use red heart with love, one skein of each color. If you are using the heartland or red heart soft, I would get two of each color. Let me know if you have any more questions. 😊
Hi and thank you! That's so cool that you are from the PNW. :) I am actually in Gryffindor too! I did Ravenclaw for the video because I made it for a friend. :) I love all houses!
First project?! How exciting!!! If you are using Lion Brand Heartland yarn, would buy two bundles each just in case. If you are using Red Heart with Love, then one bundle each should be fine. I have links in the description for each kind. ❤️ You got this! Let me know if you have any questions. If this is your first project, I would do the the Red Heart with Love yarn. You can use either one since it's not textured yarn, but Red Heart is easier to work with and you get a lot more yarn per skein. 😊
Hi and no problem! Thank you for watching. ❤️ I tend to buy most of my yarn at JoAnn. I have a few links in the description if you need. Which house are you going to make? I can give a few more suggestions if you need.
Hello! This makes perfect sense! I would buy 3 balls of yarn for each color just to be safe. (6 balls of yarn total) It takes 2 balls of yarn for each color to make it 6 ft long and 6 inches wide. I hope this helps!! If you live near a JoAnns store, I just saw that they are having a huge sale on yarn through Jan 6!
Hi! I didn't actually measure in grams. However, I did some digging and it looks like I used a little less than 560 grams. For red heart soft yarn, I used about two balls of each color. Let me know if this helps.

thinking about making this for a 4' tall 1st grader. wondering if I should make it thinner?
Rainier is pronounced RAIN-EAR 😊 hope that helps. I happen to be from the PNW. I'm a Gryffindor by the way. 😊

How much yarn did you use? Like should I buy 1 or more of the bundles for my slytherin scarf? This'll be my first project so I want to do it right😅
