Even though they are little I really enjoy Black Sea bass in our area… have you ever tried to jig for them at the inshore reefs? I always use metal when I’m out farther in 120+ft but at the reefs I prefer clam… may have to try the jig next time
typically you will just drift over the wreck and then go re-do the drift. on this day it was a very slow drift so i didn't have to move around too much
As another man with a still hot 40 y.o. wife, is it wrong if we laugh at how fat our friends' wives have gotten? Keep up the good work, both family and fishing
Thanks so much. I moved the position of the boat a bit and powerwashed her. There are two cormorants that only sit on MY pilings. Dunno if that's good or bad luck
I'm leaving in a few hours to head to the canyon in a 25 blackfin cc 😂😆😂. Gonna freeze. Dude you gotta put them big boy pants on. If I can run 40 miles offshore in a 16ft aluminum I think you can handle anything. And those small fish are all that's left. Dudes were punishing every wreck this year. It's pathetic. You gotta get into 150 plus feet of water
@@reaperfishingnj8623 just got home. We had 9 yellowfin to 75. We kept 6. In the morning we trolled up 13 of the biggest longfins I have ever seen. All were in the mid 50s to one almost 70. We drifted east of the west wall kinda in middle of elbow. There were allot of boats and from what we heard it was decent elsewhere. It was a steady pick till like 4am when a huge mako decided he wanted to wreak havoc eating 2 baits on hooks 😂. It was every bite of 400. He bit off one rod about 20 min in and after an hour it finally bit through the other. We had it next to the boat once and when it swam behind motors it was as wide as that boat. It was a good one finally. I'll be out on the 16 tomorrow trying to load up on albies for next year's shark chum and maybe try a striper
@@mulletoutdooradventures6286 that's awesome man. So glad you got em. I"m pretty sure we are done on the offshore front unfortunately. Just no weather windows on my days off
@@reaperfishingnj8623 I went down yesterday in my 16 to AC and found my steering frozen which was awesome. I'm unfortunately done in the salt now as well. I got a fiberglass 17 I need to start restoring for next season. I got the skuke a block from me and the smallmouth are on fire with walleye and some muskie sprinkled in so idk how much will get done before the freeze 😂😆😂

Yes I have done quite well jigging from time to time
Hudson was off the hook good
Yes I know. We didn't totally miss it. We had a stellar trip 10/15. had a 5 man limit in no time
I love that boat you have! Sorry you could not get offshore but made the best of it! Thanks for Sharing!
Thanks so much Craig!
An awesome video as always! Best fishing channel on the web!
Wow, thanks!
Deep water reef?
yes for the first part. then I went a bit north
Great video!! I was wondering if you will fish for tog in this depth as well?
For tog we are mostly 50-90 ft. Occasionally we will push out to 110-120 but for the most part 50-90
I missed the bite at the Hudson as well. Finally got out oct 26, went 4 for 7. Big fish, good times. They’re still there just not like how it was.
Oh nice. I can't say i missed it altogether. I'll share a video from 10/15 where we limit out in just a few hours
Nice video as always...... what shaft length is the minn kota on the little reaper ?
87"
Love the solo trips. Great content.
Thanks as always Ciro.
How were you able to stay over the wreck when you started catching keepers when you did not have your trolling motor deployed?

REAPER!!
My man!!!

Thanks for the compliment Dan. I sure am lucky. And yeah......it is wrong to laugh!! Ha ha.
If you got party boats around you could forget about it I always like squid for catch and Seabass
Yea that's my thought as well. but i was pressed for time and limited on where I could fish. We got it done
Love the content man keep up the good work!
Thank you so much Cameron!
The bird poop will kill/eat through your wax/glass…get it off asap! ❤

Sea bassing has been very slow. I do not think they migrated from offshore.
I have not seen that at all. We have been limiting out w 2 guys this has been past 5 trips so far.
North Jersey it's been a pick with a lot of short fish and 5-8 keepers a trip. South Jersey there were limits throughout October
The ratio in north Jersey has been like 30-1 though lol
yea i think i should have fished a few smaller pieces a bit shallower that no one fishes.
Daren, I seem to get over a spot and get fish instantly and then 2 mins later I’m off the spot. Do you recommend a trolling motor?
Must be that hat, Giants Stink
Ha.
