He still gets into it like this sometimes. He definitely has plug-and-plays, but what DJ doesn't? Mau5 is Mau5, just slightly older and... Well, older!
I want to see him do this more than I want to see him put on a light show tbh, I wish he did this sort of thing for every show :[ it's so rare for anyone to do anything this awesome live though, even him
Hes one of the few Dj's i've seen that actually mixes while hes doing a performance. Most of the ppl just adjust little stuff. mau5 moves all over the place mixing and re-mixing. Fuckin BAWSSS
I dont think they realized how hard it is to do what he's doing. For something simple like creating lyrics, he isolated simple words and them put them together in seconds. That's true talent.
I love how he dances to his own music the whole time :) what I would do if I could get some tickets for this! it's just one huge rave party with amazing music :D
Deadmau5 is orgasmic. Indeed Canada has gained alot of skills in the techno world. His music symbolizes the meaning of PLUR and the emotions he puts into his music is a great symbol of desire to spread his love of music. Yet again deadmau5 has put me in a deep state of trance that leaves me speechless until he drops the beat. Then i snap back to reality.
My first Global Dance Festival in 2008! First time at Red Rocks. This was when Deadmau5 was going hard, he mixed really well. He's not the same anymore...
he admitted in countless interviews that he really doesnt do shit and it doesnt take any skill to what he does on stage. hes all about sound engineering not "DJ'ing"
umm deadmau5 is the sickest ever!! and global was life changing!! EVERYONE was up and dancing to his music and wanting him to do more!! i wish it never ended!! he is the best of the best(:
It's actually "The Reward is More Cheese" just mixed live with "Harder, Better, Faster Stronger" You can see him queue the acapella and using the volume faders to cut the song and let the acapella come through.
The cool thing about Deadmau5 is that he doesn't just play a track and mix it a little lika most other DJ:s do! He is actually performing his music by starting clips, making beats on the fly etc. Deadmau5 is the man!
@aeonfluxTV If youve ever been to redrocks you'll know that the crowd is standing on stairs and not a flat surface, so its hard for them to get into it!!
Hahah that's fucking awesome to really be able to see how the Mau5 feeds on the audiences reaction, and he forms what he's going to do based on that factor. It's awesome.
DeadMau5, at red rocks, was the Ill'ist light show i have seen thus far. Its going to be hard to top the 2011 show i just saw and cant seem to stop telling all my friends what they missed out on. And what they will have to see the next time he comes to mile high city.
@1ogik789 Laptop with Ableton Live, Xone 4D as a mixer. He's got a Monome 256 used for playing samples and sequences of songs. The touchscreen thing is a Lemur that he uses for other repeats and things. He uses a Pioneer EFX-1000 for FX. There's a video of it somewhere.
@JuniorJavy If you'll look, this video was posted the first time Deadmau5 played Global years ago when he wasn't the headliner. This year we had the full stage setup, except that instead of the new full LED helmet, he wore the one he played with at Global for the first time. He's already come out and said that Red Rocks is his favorite venue, much like most musicians that play there.
@aeonfluxTV - I take it you have never been to or seen Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver. That is over 12,000 people in an outdoor theater built into the side of a mountain! Absolutely Amazing place to see a show. I do have to say its hard to dance well there because it is all carved out of rock and its steep. The lower part where the girl was dancing is more flat. Plus the ppl may be tired GDF is an all day, two day event and Deadmau5 played the main set on day 2.
@csuskier Not to mention Denver has a unique crowd in it's energy. The people in the front are the super fanbois who care about packing in like tuna to see him. In the middle is where all the normal fanbois are, and they groove and dance the night away. The back of the crowd is just an extension of the middle.
@theHypercidE that's why most use macs. they're more stable during live performance. a pc is more unpredictable and less reliable. its possible, like having a light fall on ur lead singer or something..
@AlteredVisionz I was at the show. Keep in mind this is filmed behind speakers. The crowd noise was so loud I could barely hear him spin and had to move up to the front. At 2:43 you can hear the crowd in the pause. Amazing show.
@mrlynch08 the jazzmutant lemur? that's what the black touchscreen device he's using is. As for that white thing I think it's a monome... If you're looking to get something like that, I'd recommend using an ipad or a novation launchpad instead, much cheaper, hope this helps, cheers!
@netx7221 So far on this tour he has been wearing the mask til around half way through the set. Hope you enjoy, the production it's absolutely incredible!
@CovingtonOfficial I can see from left to right: piooner or denon player, mac book pro, some allen & heath mixers, korg/lemur controllers and a monome. There might be something else to his right though and perhaps there might be some differences with what I stated above.
@ElKkshi If by mixing, you mean putting one song into another and so on and so forth, then most DJ's do that, except the ones who just act like it while playing a premade mix (bad dj's). That's their job. Deadmau5 does do some unique stuff with samples and effects. His performances are always unique.
Please come again ive been lookin for ever on the internet for u to come bac to denver it would be so freakin awesome and can u sell those heads there like as suvinears? it would be awesome Woo deadmau5
@ElKkshi its cuz hes in control of EVERY element in each song. each song he was control of the drums, synths, bass, fx, and vocals if any. so hes constantly gotta check them all lol he said sometin like that in an interview.
@krimmit1 its at red rocks around denver its a huge hole in the side of a rock wall for lack of a better word and its that big awesome place missed him here got to c a little in chi town I aug at lolla
@aidanrox117 its not a song, he has harder better faster stronger on a second deck so he can throw in some vocals. He was only going to use the first "harder" but the crowd's reaction told him to go on
Seeing him in August at Red Rocks. . . (where he is in this video) and i know ill be getting hard from it lol. If its any consolation, this was at Global Dance festival, (basically a three day rave that starts at like 2 pm and lasts for 14 hours into 4 am, for 3 days straight, they might just be soooo tired from raveing so much already)
@Ingason8 I started off with VDJ, but it lacks in a lot of stuff. You can't exactly produce your own sounds, like you can with Ableton, so right from the start you're limited. Look into Traktor Pro- same concept as VDJ but SOOO much more powerful (and professional lol)
Agreed diggz, also most musicians that have played at Red Rocks concider it a privalege because of the echos the rock gives off, i know Red Rocks inside and out because my dad has worked there 20 some odd years, good to see that Deadmau5 has played here.
these where golden times.. his mixing style was godlike back then.
Still is
Goosebumps listening in 2023
Paved the way
I was there. It was my first rave. it was awesome. Red Rocks is the best venue hands down.
Me too bro was 17 at this show now I’m 33
I love it when he uses the Harder Better Faster Stronger vocals. He never disappoints. : )
fuck off
Very nostalgic
I've been listening to this for years
Wow this guy is well liked, I just found out about him last month, lol....
Well it's been 10 years
Now this is a Producer that actually enjoys his music while performing, i cant wait till he is back in aus,
that daft punk tho.
+PoyPoy Gaming IKR keeps ringing in ur ears even after
Daftmau5
@@187Ad0n1s de4dpunk
this show was fucking amazing brings back so many memories
He still gets into it like this sometimes. He definitely has plug-and-plays, but what DJ doesn't? Mau5 is Mau5, just slightly older and... Well, older!
I want to see him do this more than I want to see him put on a light show tbh, I wish he did this sort of thing for every show :[ it's so rare for anyone to do anything this awesome live though, even him
his light shows are some of the best synchronized with the music that I've seen, though, and that is pretty cool
He’s not a DJ!
he done his homework...
Hes one of the few Dj's i've seen that actually mixes while hes doing a performance.
Most of the ppl just adjust little stuff.
mau5 moves all over the place mixing and re-mixing.
Fuckin BAWSSS
FOR THE LAST TIME, HES NOT A DJ!
when you comin back to the rocks?
October 19th & 20th!!
was there
He just came a couple months ago, sorry I didn't let you know earlier
@@y_nk2374 I snagged tickets during the presale, but had to give them to my brother, because I recently moved though!
I remember this video oh my god I was 8 years old
I think it's awesome how they can make the music on stage. Massive respect!
I dont think they realized how hard it is to do what he's doing. For something simple like creating lyrics, he isolated simple words and them put them together in seconds. That's true talent.
Nothing is hard if you practice enough
"Reward is moar cheese" - Deadmau5
"look it´s jusus! hey jesus you came to save our souls?"
"Naaah I just came to check out this deadmau5 my dad is always talking about"
I love how he dances to his own music the whole time :)
what I would do if I could get some tickets for this! it's just one huge rave party with amazing music :D
deadmau5 is probably one of the best effects DJ's ever. Ive never seen such great FX being implemented into his mixing by anyone else.
This guy is just amazing at what he does.
REWARD IS CHEESE
Come to Norway
Cat Do u know Meowingtons?
Cat Do u know Meowingtons?

Never delete this video. My parents were here. I was 12.
WAAAAH IT WILL NEVER be like this again at red rocks so many lightshows :'(
#Alive2017
LD986 Wrong artist, dude!
#dead2021
Genius
My first Global Dance Festival in 2008! First time at Red Rocks. This was when Deadmau5 was going hard, he mixed really well. He's not the same anymore...
deadmau5 even said himself this was a standout show for him
This proves that deadmau5 actual does shit when performing un like a lot of others
this doesn't show shit because you can't see exactly what he's doing
he admitted in countless interviews that he really doesnt do shit and it doesnt take any skill to what he does on stage. hes all about sound engineering not "DJ'ing"
Hooked0nDub iPod'ing*
He actually does a lot of shit in his shows. If you compare a lot of his set ups to, say, the standard DJ one, he does do a fair bit of stuff.
Bradley Case dude, we talked about this back in 2014
Daft punk and deadmau5 will be good team -_^
I WAS BORN 1996
umm deadmau5 is the sickest ever!! and global was life changing!! EVERYONE was up and dancing to his music and wanting him to do more!! i wish it never ended!! he is the best of the best(:

Come to Ohio.
the mau5 used to be so much better =(
+domeskeetz he changed his style he is still very good just because you dont like his new stuff doesnt mean he isnt skillful
+Durrant miller agree
domeskeetz no
The cool thing about Deadmau5 is that he doesn't just play a track and mix it a little lika most other DJ:s do! He is actually performing his music by starting clips, making beats on the fly etc. Deadmau5 is the man!
This song still gives me flashbacks of this show even now 4 years later 3pic Mau5---Mau5 lov3 !
As someone from Colorado and constantly goes to Red Rocks, I can agree.
he was so legendary with this vocal. :D
one of my favorite sets by dmau5
@aeonfluxTV If youve ever been to redrocks you'll know that the crowd is standing on stairs and not a flat surface, so its hard for them to get into it!!
Can't wait to see u @ red rocks for GDF!! Mau5tyle is gonna shake the walls of the amphitheater dude. So stoked.
Thats just some great mixing
Hahah that's fucking awesome to really be able to see how the Mau5 feeds on the audiences reaction, and he forms what he's going to do based on that factor. It's awesome.

Best Deadmau5 live mix ever!

Denver and Colorado in general is one of the best places to start out in the electronic business that whole scene is hugeee here
@csuskier Not to mention Denver has a unique crowd in it's energy. The people in the front are the super fanbois who care about packing in like tuna to see him. In the middle is where all the normal fanbois are, and they groove and dance the night away. The back of the crowd is just an extension of the middle.
Why dont he make a DVD with some of his live concerts, i would persionaly love to se them :)
He actually has dvds he’s has Deadmau5 live @ earls court 2010 and meowingtons hax 2k11 Toronto
@theHypercidE that's why most use macs. they're more stable during live performance. a pc is more unpredictable and less reliable.
its possible, like having a light fall on ur lead singer or something..
@abrentwalker
Limitations of the venue. It is on a Mountain Slope. Made mostly out of rock.
Gonna see Deadmau5 July 17th @ the Saltair!! Sooo cant wait!! Was @ Benny Banasi May 28th, sold out.. Heard Deadmau5 should be just the same!! =]
When you come to New York, expect an audience. Can't wait!
@J4d3dFox I can't help but to sit and move to the beat. Just because you don't like the music, doesn't mean that no one else will.
@AlteredVisionz I was at the show. Keep in mind this is filmed behind speakers. The crowd noise was so loud I could barely hear him spin and had to move up to the front. At 2:43 you can hear the crowd in the pause. Amazing show.

I love how Deadmau5 comes to my city born and raised and still living here If i only you came back to denver
sory of my life bro
DJ ZMB story
Deadmau5
@netx7221 So far on this tour he has been wearing the mask til around half way through the set. Hope you enjoy, the production it's absolutely incredible!
I was there. Miss the good old days!
@CovingtonOfficial I can see from left to right: piooner or denon player, mac book pro, some allen & heath mixers, korg/lemur controllers and a monome. There might be something else to his right though and perhaps there might be some differences with what I stated above.
@1225jeet its called a Lemur, a very customizable control pad
@ElKkshi If by mixing, you mean putting one song into another and so on and so forth, then most DJ's do that, except the ones who just act like it while playing a premade mix (bad dj's). That's their job. Deadmau5 does do some unique stuff with samples and effects. His performances are always unique.
@BHPaperstacks Red Rocks is fucking legend, that's why. The sound acoustics created between those giant sandstone monoliths are awesome.
@henriette257 Remix of The Reward is Cheese (first track he plays). It's Deadmau5 vs. Jello if I remember correctly
Please come again ive been lookin for ever on the internet for u to come bac to denver it would be so freakin awesome and can u sell those heads there like as suvinears? it would be awesome
Woo deadmau5
Its my dream combination!!Thank you for this video you legendary mau5!!!
@DnBReece1 The song at 4:50 is "The reward is cheese"
@3vilalex actually those vocals are a daft punk song called "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" if you dont believe me, check it out.
@NewAgeNClassix its the lights that give you that impression,
@aidanrox117 its not a song, he has harder better faster stronger on a second deck so he can throw in some vocals. He was only going to use the first "harder" but the crowd's reaction told him to go on
After I watch these kind of videos, makes me feel proud i live in Denver, DENVER FTW!@!@!!!!!
Seeing him in August at Red Rocks. . . (where he is in this video)
and i know ill be getting hard from it lol.
If its any consolation, this was at Global Dance festival, (basically a three day rave that starts at like 2 pm and lasts for 14 hours into 4 am, for 3 days straight, they might just be soooo tired from raveing so much already)
this looks epic
@theHypercidE Then Start Beatboxing lmfao

If they only knew....
My first ever show
@3vilalex lol what?! Those are probably the most used vocal samples in the world. It's pressing exactly one button in time and maybe a little fading.
@Lortagreb i know but, you seen how long that build up was. and it kept changing the build up
this show changed my life. lol i was 16. sheesh
Agreed diggz, also most musicians that have played at Red Rocks concider it a privalege because of the echos the rock gives off, i know Red Rocks inside and out because my dad has worked there 20 some odd years, good to see that Deadmau5 has played here.
Love how the crowd screams when he throws in the daft punk sample
cant wait for his next show in dallas!!!!
amazing
@DJDizzeh OH and I think the box to the right of the Lemur is hs Monome.
This Is how?? I Was Born On Daft punk
