      Except that it’s NOT a song. I don’t hear anyone singing, do you? It’s a PASSACAGLIA. If Handel had someone singing he would have called it a song, but he didn’t. He called it a PASSACAGLIA.

      @@j.thomas1420whichever hand has the melody should play slightly harder . It is a habit generally to play with the right harder as it is has more often the melody . But in polyphonic pieces such this or bach , the pianist must be conscious to which hand should sound more . The same goes along with other expressions in music . In one word : symmetry

    • @j.thomas1420
      @j.thomas1420 Рік тому +2

      @@ΠαναγιώτηςΑλεξανδρόπουλος-β1γ it's not correct to state about "which hand should play harder" but it's more precise to discus about which line is melodic or important. A single hand can both play a Melody Line and some accompagnement, for exemple Chopin op10 n3. Both hands can even contribute to a unique melodic line, Liszt or even Mendelssohn like to do that. Buts always just emphasing the melody can be boring, sometimes even contre-chant or bassa need to express.

      @ΠαναγιώτηςΑλεξανδρόπουλος-β1γ Рік тому

      @@j.thomas1420 yes you are right . Sometimes a single hand plays two paths ; at this case the melody and another path.
      Still, the nature of this piece doesn't involve this kind of polyphony. So, while your argument is absolutely correct and more precise, mine is refering straight to the piece
