440C is one of those steels that still regularly gets used to produce premium knives in Europe. N690 as well, which was developed from 440C. I don't love to pay big money for it, but when the knife is made nicely, the blade steel isn't gonna be the deciding factor. Good steel is great, but I don't let it keep me from buying a design I like, because as long as its not junk steel, I don't find the experience to of using it to be all that different. Sure Ill pay for some knives in Maxamet or Magnacut for the joy of the performance that those stills provide, but I don't need every knife to be in crazy steel. I think its a beautiful design, and totally worth the asking price, and actually a great value. I'm gonna get one. You guys seem to be surprised by the market often. Boker Plus is not made in Germany, and offers products that range from ultra budget to high end. German made Bokers often have higher price tags, but the quality justifies it. Magnum is pretty crappy though.
Oh boy. Ill tell ya, that Tritium vial is whats gonna sell a lot of those knives. I was following you on the gimmick thing, but you opened a can o' worms talking about that Scorpion lock. People obsess over Demko locks, and i have to say, the man is a brilliant engineer. Probably the biggest IQ in the knife world.
You guys stay on top of a lot of some of the sweetest, lesser available or known treasures, and sick selection. I appreciate your brand of banter and refreshing honesty from a retailer. I often wonder about the nerve involved in charging a fortune for 440C and similar or lesser tier offerings, but people buy them. And there are companies that apparently just pimp their brandlore from past releases of some glory. Will you guys carry Daggerr again? Maxace BCS has never disappointed, and anything with some Cold Steel, HTM, kind of formidable unapologetically ferocious overboard designs in flipper formats, and with excellent steels, and full sets of spare hardware. The Killer Whale 2.0 in ASP60 avd my 3 V4E Mammoths (had to get both shapes when they dropped a DLCed version. Babylon is such a great foray into the button lock revival, on the premium end. The Goliath 2s are right up my alley. The Mammoths are like something I dreamed about that manifested. There was not enough V4E/4V, and they drop a DLCed mothership with bearing action, 5mm bladestock, sci fi Excalibur that opens every way and would open anything. Well over 4". No better representation of my favorite steel, pocket deployable, dual pommels. Damn. And Rike! I have 3 M3s (the apocalyptic scifi battle distressed "brass" titanium is so sick, and another pocket deployable hellraiser. Got two of the Thor 7s, what a blessing to drop a Thor I didn't have to sell a kidney for. Alien 4 and pen and tbe Thor 6 with the integral Geiger see thru titanium exoskeleton and that spine are grail goals. Their 154CM is definitely among the best. Tulay is a steal, too. I will get one of those pens, cool bolt action, and was excited to finally hear glass breaker, because the pen and glassbreaker in either order of use I could see being useful. Maxace/Black Cat Studios are heroic to me, no gimmick doesn't serve a purpose, and ZT might have to reassess "overbuilt". A Geigered out Rike/Maxace collab would be too sick. The Killer Whale 2.0 is not as Warhammer 40k, but the action and that ASP60 blade, the shape, for a somewhat under 4" blade, it wields like a behemoth. I'd like to see a special edition Real Steel Echo with superduper PM tool steel, and black and FDE sometimes (Adamus) coatee blades call to my heart, I wanna see that. I love Vellekamp. I love his OG 5.11 and Fox offshoot styles. Plus, as a PNW legend, gives me extra pride being a local. The SOG SEAL XR was not only a needed morale booster for my OG Seattle soul and sentiment and in great timing as it descends into a dystopian warzone , it reiterated the importance of that jimping you touched upon. Please folks, jimping is often underdone. Plus sharper raised spine jimping is a lesser known "wave" opening means, like any thumb studs that poetrude past frame width. I have been doing it all day with the little Kizer Rapids my friend gave me to clean up for him. Kudos to the winners. I scored a blackout and gold accented S90V titanium Drake for a pittance during the revamp. I still love my pre merger AUS10 KB Drake I somehow got for just below $40 new. And wound up with a Dugu in AUS10, don't think many exist, at least here. But I have spares in D2. Emerson, patent has expired, Benchmade accepted this with the Axis lock, let folks be. RIP Boker Toro, and every cutout notch is not the same. All due respect. Love you guys, thanks!
And tritium is neat, but I just put infrared optics on my Ltd. Thompson Voyagers and Counterpoint XL. Thinking of putting a holographic reticle sight on the MA Mammoth. Please more monstrous flippers, I often see fixed blades I wish were flippers. Going thru belts a budget sander.. My pants usually weigh more than me, but 20 min of Dogwalking with a Pandora's Box of awesome tools, toys and emergency getright implements is like 3 hours of intense incline treadmill exercise, and way more fun
Oh and how is that Demko Shark lock? I am intrigued. I refuse to close Triads with both hands, and have honorably made many blood sacrifices to Cold Steel for my stubbornness. Worth every gallon!
This question is for Mike Vellekamp : I love the design of your 30060 Wharncliffe knife, but I have questioned purchasing a $250 knife using 154cpm steel. I would of grabbed in a second if it was at least CPM-30. I hope you come out with the same design with a better edge retention steel. I do have other models of your knives. Thanks, Mike Sexton
I love that Jul has the… guts to say something about Demko she doesn’t really care for (scorpion lock). How many people in the game will be that honest? 👍
What is Haast Eagle 2.0 finish? On their website there is only iron washed, raw, black blood, ice brush and marble. You mentioned dark earth gun coat finish, if I understood correctly. Unfortunately have to find seller in Europe. Thank you
I’m new to the knife world, started about a yr ago and I’ve never heard of PMP but when you said 440C I for sure thought it would priced more reasonably until you said $135 lol I’m sure I can do better than 440C for $135
Wow don't like the Scorpion lock huh, well I guess there's lots of situations in the Knife World where small hands & big blades don't get along, but I mean I absolutely cannot stand the Benchmade bug out, the perfect poser blade! So to each their own.
Suggestions... Shorten the intro a bit... Audio is annoying... The sign and bell when you announce a price is hugely annoying...get rid of that awful sign with logos... Ditch it.. slide a bit right (mine) and tighten in the frame more on you two and sit closer...that stripe that I assume is a chair rail... Def needs to go. She needs to bump up her energy more to equal yours... Video transitions to close ups is excellent compared to other sites. You keep the pace quick, which is great. Gaw was handled fast... Could have shown the prize more to gain interest in future gaws. Decent back and forth ... Honest criticism is very welcomed. Ok...time wise, you should be starting to wrap up... Should have held the boker for another video. Yeah, really don't care by this point .. probably lots dropping of by now. Pen should be separate too. Zzzzz. Arghgh. Painful sticking with your close... Just my two cents... And drop ALL of whatever that was at the end. Sorry I sound critical... It's got potential .. just needs twerking (and shortening for god's sake. Good Luck.)
So cool
Boker is nice !
Wow, Boker comin through.
ooh, like that Warthog fixed blade.
Oooo I really like that first knife
That Wander Tactical takes my breath away....................

Thanks.
Congrats winners
Love the ring you got on! Very cool!
Lots of goods this week!
More nice knives this week. Love the pen.
Congratulations to the winners
I got Camry too
Another fantastic show 👏👌👍
Thanks. We're happy you enjoyed it.
My 2 favorite knife people. What's up guys ? Hi Wendy !
Oh, I really like that PMP, I might have to get me one of those. Can't wait for the Q & A with Mike Vellekamp. Great Video Guys.
135 is not bad for the warthog in 440c with a kydex sheath. Most stuff made in Switzerland is good quality. I like it.
👍and a comment
Thank you and a
It takes two to make a thing go right, it takes two to make it outsite
Hit it!
I like 8cr it's kind of stainless easy to sharpen and takes a fine edge.
As do I. Similar to our 420hc

AKFOREVER KLF love 4oo series used to be the best
Jul could be Owen Wilson’s sister...the way she says yeah and wow when she is using her lower voice range reminds me of him in some of his movies 🤣🤣🤣

I know I’m a little late 😂 but are you guys going to restock the Haast Eagle 2.0?
What not a Demko lover. I didn’t think that was allowed

They needed to upgrade the steel seriously they got a great product but they got a rubber blade
I have a question for Jul, How does it feel Jul waking up every morning knowing that you are so Beautiful……

Suggestion: Ignore this guy- with prejudice. You've got the most watchable knife "show" on The UA-cam!
