Well, when Sam and Maurice lost their powers in A PLAGUE ON MAURICE AND SAMANTHA, Darrin thought he'd challenge Maurice, until Sam warned him, "Careful." Endora threatened him with the threat he could end up a leaping lizard, after al. In some few cases, Endora did defend Darrin, for Sam's sake. Most if the time she was trying to break up the marriage. There is one thing that Endora did was to play up to Frank. Phyllis sometimes semed to project her aches and pains onto others, like here. If she only knew who and what Sam is. 🙂
I love that they used older actors on the show. So many fantastic performers. I can't think of any recent show that uses so many older and even very elderly actors.
She really is. She was always very rude. “I think i have a sick headache” And she was jealous of Endora all of the time by constantly making snooty remarks, like “Oh, Do you live here now?” She was really disrespectful at times

The cast that Ms Montgomery surrounded herself was nothing short of perfection! The tense relationship between the mother in laws is 100% the actresses skill! Their use of their voice, facial expression, deliverance of lines, painted the rival picture to perfection! I read that Mabel Anderson , who played Mrs Stephens, was loved by everyone on set, was extremely professional and nice and was great friends with the superb Agnes Moorehead and Marion Lorne! Ms Mooreheads constistent performances are perfection! She was the perfect antagonist for the show! I dare anyone not to be carried away, bewitched, and fall in love with these people!
Any episode with "Mrs. Stevens" is a good one. Say what you want about "Gladys Kravitz", but Mrs. Stevens' parts were written perfectly, and only Mabel Albertson could play that part.
Darrin was treated with real cruelty at times by Endora. But then, he was insulting to her every time he saw her, before she'd even say anything. Plus he held Samantha back and demanded she not use her natural gifts, which sadly she put up with.

i grew up watching bewitched i love this show. i have elder relatives who are very old school i wonder if they ever watched the show and if they did what did they think about it? My Mother and my aunt are very old school they don't believe in pets they think all animals belong outside not even a dog or a cat is allowed inside the house my cousin Bruce has red hair and he has a cat now his mother my aunt wont go visit him because he has a cat in the house. lol.
