Professional Biography: Dr. Ghada Shahrour
Ghada Shahrour, Ph.D., PMHCNS, RN, is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Nursing at
Jordan University of Science and Technology in Jordan, specializing in Psychiatric/Mental
Health Nursing. Currently, she’s on sabbatical leave at Ras Al-Khaimah Medical and Health
Sciences University (RAKMHSU), UAE. Her dedication to the field has earned her prominent
leadership roles, including her current position as Chief Coordinator of Academic Advising at
RAKMHSU. She has also held several administrative positions at Jordan University of Science
and Technology (JUST), including Head of the Department of Community and Mental Health
Nursing, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, Manager of Student Housing, and Manager of the
Youth Health Clinic. She’s one of the cofounders of the Psychological Sciences Association
(PSA) in Jordan and held the position of vice president for one year.
Dr. Shahrour earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Jordan University of Science
and Technology in 2006, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a
specialization in Psychiatric Nursing from Kent State University, USA. She continued her
studies at Kent State University, earning a Ph.D. in Nursing in 2017.
Professionally, Dr. Shahrour has made significant contributions to education, research, and
leadership. Her scholarly work is widely recognized, with numerous publications in reputable
international journals focusing on psychiatric and mental health nursing. She has been actively
engaged in disseminating educational workshops and scholarly research, both nationally and
internationally.

In this episode of "NursesTalking," I had the great privilege of speaking with Dr. Ghada Shahrour, an associate professor specializing in psychiatric mental health nursing at Jordan University of Science and Technology.
