You mention how the ammo runs out faster on precision mode. It’s because precision mode uses two bullets per shot. Runs out twice as fast as spread mode.

The long range mode takes up 2 bullets per shot so the mag won't last as long if your always in it. Loving the content so far!

If there are many enemy titans shooting at you, use electric smoke. When the smoke blocks the line of sight between you and the AI enemies, the AI enemies do not shoot at you. With Legion, this is especially useful since you can cycle between Gun Shield and electric smokes in order to avoid damage. If the Gun Shield runs out for example and there are many titans still shooting at you, activate electric smoke and shoot back. By the time electric smoke disappears, Gun Shield is pretty much ready again. Repeat the cycle until smokes run out. With every core, you get two more smokes so it is easy to stack up on smokes during early waves and save them for when you really need them. I recommend Counter Ready for Frontier Defense.
Also, you can throw Satchel charges through an A-wall to amp them. You can also blow them up by shooting at them when you are in your titan. Just don't blow them up on yourself. Placing and using Satchels this way allows you to make explosive traps in high-traffic lanes where lots of enemies come from. Put both charges next to each other and they can put an Arc titan from max health to doom state (close to 3 bars of damage).
As a Legion, always aim at enemy titan's critical hit spots for extra damage. This works against Reapers too. If you hit a Reaper to the head with a Power Shot, that is an instant kill.
Legion's Redirect upgrade (perk that allows damage to your Gun Shield to transfer into your titan's overshield) has friendly-fire active. If your a friend Northstar shoots at the Gun Shield, you get a lot of overshield. Ronin's Leadwall Shotgun and Arc Wave, but also Ion's Splitter Rifle in split mode gives a lot of shield. If there are two Legions who have that perk, you can aim at each other and shoot each others' Gun Shields to get titan overshields and save money from not needing to buy as many batteries.

Yeah I'm finding retaining health to be a struggle. I'll definitely try and incorporate the smoke aspect into my gameplay. Thank you for all the advice.

Also, buy Arc Traps. And I mean a LOT of Arc Traps. Although there are certain maps like Exoplanet, Homestead and War Games, for example, where you would want atleast 1 or 2 sentry guns to be active near the Harvester for the drones and foot soldiers, in most cases, based on my experience throughout all these years, you can never go wrong with Arc Traps. For as long as you somewhat know where to place them, they are by far the most helpful item in Frontier Defense. I personally spend the vast majority of my credits for Arc Traps after every wave unless I absolutely must buy a battery or two.
Seriously... Let's say 3 of 4 players, focus mainly on buying and putting Arc Traps to the important lanes or chokepoints, the match becomes so MUCH easier. Master difficulty feels like Hard difficulty. Hard difficulty feels like Regular etc. The other way is also true: If I join into a Regular match that is at 4th or final wave and there is only 2 teammates with me and there are 0 Arc Traps, the waves become more difficult than they would otherwise be and you need to be careful. If the same happens but the difficulty is Hard, you really need to concentrate to beat the wave and not get your titan too damaged either. If the same happens on Master, it is about 65 % propability that you cannot beat the wave no matter how well you play... although there are some exceptions.
A couple more things about the actual practicalities. Arc Traps have a certain radius. You can see the radius when you place them. The best way to stack Arc Traps on a high-traffic lane is to place them so that their radiuses overlap little bit. This way they can keep chain-triggering in such a way that they can in best cases stunlock enemy titans, provided that there are enough Arc Traps. To make this kind of a "stunlock trap" you should try placing the traps into a cluster... like a zig-zag pattern where the radiuses overlap a little bit with all the traps (Note: a dense line is very effective too and works well in most cases but compared to a zig-zag, it cannot completely stunlock. Also, never ever place two Arc Traps on top of each other so that 80% or more of their radiuses overlap, that is a waste). In both cases, line or zig-zag, the more traps you have, the better. In a zig-zag cluster, when placed optimally, 4-6 traps, depending on the area, can very severely hinder AI titans from moving towards you and dealing damage to you.
And of course, the amount of traps needed depends on the enemies and their numbers. If there are only 2-4 titans coming from a certain direction, a flank for example, you absolutely do not need 4-6 traps for that (that is for the heaviest enemy traffic usually for the final waves).
Arc traps are a very effective way to get rid of Tick Drones without taking damage. When 1-2 traps are placed into a lane or a route which Ticks and enemy titans take towards the Harvester, the Arc Traps will take care of the Ticks for you. However, if very many Tick swarms spawn at the same time, the traps may get overwhelmed and consequently some Ticks can get through, so you still need to pay attention. Forwardbase Kodai or Drydock for example.
Arc Traps can also stun flying drones. Try placing a few traps on top of the building the drones fly over in Drydock during the 4th wave. Works like wonders. In Exoplanet, there is a rock formation near the right side corner of the large building that is in front of the Harvester (spawnpoint point of view), on the lane that leads to the middle of the map. You can place Arc Trap on top of that to counter flyers coming from the middle.
Final thing. Now that there is the opportunity to make linear trap lines, zig-zag clusters or even anti-drone traps, one might wonder how he can get so many traps to do that? Well, you propably cannot do everything at once until the final waves. Therefore, try to optimize the trap locations before next wave starts according to where the enemies are coming from. Note: In maps where many enemies always come from same locations (eg. Rise, Blackwater Canal), changing trap locations is not as important as in some other maps. But there are indeed cases where it is good to switch positions. Four examples below:
-Angel City; place traps in the middle lanes during waves 2-3, for wave 3 also place a couple of traps to the route where the enemies come from at the end of the wave in order to counter them. After that, switch some traps to mortar positions for wave 4, keep a few in the middle, and at wave 5 move all traps to final drop-in point (right side corner) and/or under the small bridge leading to the drop point area.
-Forwardbase Kodai; Middle lanes and right side corner leading to the Harvester at wave 2-3, then 70 % of the traps to the left lane at wave 4 but leave rest near the middle area leading to top of the base but still close to Harvester. At wave, 5 return to the pattern used at waves 2-3 but place traps also to the sidelines (1-2 to the left and right side corners leading to Harvester) and much more in the middle above the actual base and a 2-3 on the underpass that turns right from the Harvester's point of view.
-Homestead; around the left and right side of the silo to counter nuke titans at wave 2, the left and right side lanes at waves 3-4 to counter the Ronins and Legions (preferrably also a turret or two and a couple of Arc Traps to cover the silo area against Scorches), and at wave 5 place pretty much all 85+ % of the traps around the silo's left and right side (from Harvester's point of view) and make it a dense line or a zig-zag along the way enemy titans come from. At wave 5, if you need to, maybe also place a couple of Arc traps further back, a bit closer to the Harvester but not right at the Harvester in order to counter possible Arc titans that are at doom-state and have managed to phase-shift through the Arc Trap grid.
-Drydock; Generally just place traps near the Harvester. This means a couple of traps exactly at where the Harvester is but most others around the corners and lanes leading to the Harvester to sop nuke titans and Scorches from getting close. At wave 4, put 1-2 traps on top of the building where flyers come from. For wave 5, you could place every trap around the middle like during waves 2-3. Or, if you want to do the 5th wave in a more aggressive way, you could place 85% of the existing traps on the corner of the map where the first titan drops in (left side upper corner from spawnpoint point of view). Make a large zig-zag carpet that extends from the first titan's spawnpoint to the lane that leads towards the middle and the Harvester. When majority of players stay at that corner, nothing gets through.

Here's a tip you can edit and change pilot loadout in-between round and it'll change in real time so if you change extra amo to speedy reload it will change or even whole weapons

I think with Legion, you can't really defend yourself in FD outright, but rather you need to defend the map.
The gun shield is kinda bad, but definitely useful. The bulwark kit is hard to use because the shield only stays up for a short time no matter what. Oh, hey, you said this, too
14:17 Here I am, once again, to die on the hill of Extended Ammo Capacity. With hidden compartment, you start a fight with 170% of a powershot, but that effectiveness percentage goes down every time you fire it. The cooldown per shot remains the same. In FD, you should have it on cooldown all the time, so I like the extra damage of not using hidden compartment. Also, if you are reloading, you cannot use your powershot anyway. My solution: carry more ammo so you reload less. Another advantage to my strategy is that you can stop firing bullets from your mag and end a nuke titan sooner. The funny thing is, this conversation ends at Aegis 20, when you get all the kits all the time.
Feel free to punch stalkers, by the way. Just don't step on them.
37:48 If you used smoke, you would have survived this fight. It was an epic nuke eject, though.

Shield redirect isn’t very good, it’s helpful, but it feels minimal to me.
Use it between waves, if you don’t get a battery, have a teammate shoot your shield to church up your Titan shield.
