    During my service with the German Air Force 2007-2009 at the Jagdbombergeschwader 32 ECR(Fighterbomberwing 32) we once cleaned up our squadron building and Walther PPK boxes also came to light. The Bundeswehr got also Walther (now from Ulm) PPK pistols for their F-104 Starfighter pilots in the 60s and 70s and also in the individual boxes and not in large boxes. Just by the way

    Back in 1997 I bought a boxed PPK from a dealer here in the UK, mine was military stamped as well with two matching mags and a matching serial numbered box.. The box and the gun were well used compared to yours but still in good condition and I remember I paid £450.00 for it at the time… Unfortunately after the Dunblane massacre we were required to hand them in when the government effectively banned pistols for civilian shooters and off it went to be melted down into drain covers or something equally depressing😢
    Interesting to note that when available all these German pistols were so much cheaper than the USA.. A friend had a Party Leader PPK and he paid £500.00 for it (about two weeks wages in 1997)
    Another great video Tom ❤

      I often wonder why more than a few guns show up in America with British proof marks. Did they all get melted down?🤔

      A very sad story, as for me because its a right to keep and bear arms, my sons and I would lose our lives and more than a few police would as well. I did not say this in any way to put you down, you have a different history and culture.

      You could have stored it overseas? It's appalling that a state can confiscate private property. It's like being a peasant in feudal times when local 'nobility' would just take whatever they wanted from you, and you dare not resist or complain.

    • @todderstaffes
      @todderstaffes Рік тому +1

      @@steveh7823 yes I should have, I was so pissed off with it at the time that I just gave up.. A few friends at the club moved there pistols to a club in Belgium but have rarely been since.. One guy I know has only been once in the past 25 years..

      @@todderstaffes A lot of my fellow Oxbridge pistol shooters founded a club in Switzerland "The British Alpine Rifles" so they could continue to shoot handguns banned in the UK.
      But I was not prepared to travel there just to carry on shooting cartridge powered handguns. I had other hobbies as well as shooting and a demanding day job too.
      Looking through the online catalogue of the UK Royal Armouries collection, I see that some rare and valuable handguns escaped to the safety of their collection when the ban came into force.

    I love every video…. Now- has anyone observed or heard of the Thompson sub machine guns found by Wagner in or around Soledar in Ukraine. Also that Russia is issuing the lend lease new Thompsons to their soldiers. Those are priceless and need to come home.

    • @RickJZ1973
      @RickJZ1973 Рік тому +2

      Seen it. Even though most view it as cool, they are obsolete relics. And the ammo for them in Ukraine is non existent. Even if they were brought to the States, they would be put in a government warehouse.

    • @2Atreehugger
      @2Atreehugger Рік тому +1

      @@RickJZ1973 I was wondering if they were new/unissued. I wouldn’t doubt there is ammo too for them, but probably corroded . I know they don’t compare to the new hot rod subs out today, but to a collector they would be cool as hell.

    There's one thing that makes me suspicious, but that I, as a layman, simply don't know. 4:05 the date on the manual 2. 40. but why C.E.? (in German we usually don't use this designation, common era/Christian era etc. for 'A.D.', we use n.Chr. or [n.] u.Z.)

    When I joined the Royal Ulster Constabulary in 1986 I was issued with a PPK in a plastic box, complete with cleaning rod, two magazines (one with a heal) etc. Every six months when we went for firearms training the armourer would take our guns to be checked over whilst we were in the classroom for the legal use of force training etc, the armourer collected the guns into a crate exactly like the ones shown. I had to hand the Walther in when we were issued with Glocks in 2001. I still have the Walther box though 😊

      I was issued with a Ruger Speed Six on joining the RUCGC ( 1982 ) but because I was doing a lot of plain clothes work in the late 90's I requested a Walther PPK as my personal issue, it was granted, what a fantastic pistol. Unfortunately I had to trade it in and be issued with a Glock 17.
