  • It is always a great concern among all the engineering students which major I shall pursue-Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering? In this video, I described it both from the academic and industry perspective and from my real-life experience :)

Hello, I have done my Bachelor in Aeronautical Engineering from India and I would like to pursue Masters in Aerospace Engg. in the US. However, I researched the job prospects for International Students in this domain and I found that there is security clearance in most aerospace jobs that will require citizenship. So, If I do a Master in Mechanical Engineering instead of Aerospace would be a good option in terms of employment in aerospace firms or should I change country?

Go for mechanical! It’s way more safe option! I did same. For MS or PhD without any doubt go for Mechanical Engineering. Your BS in Aerospace will definitely help you if you want to work in aerospace! But a mechanical degree will make your profile more versatile!

Hello sir , I am from Nepal and I have a great interest In aerospace engineering but as of my family condition , I would have to earn at least a little after completing bacholers, so I am in a great dilemma in choosing me or ae but if mechanical engineer and aerospace engineer earns about same after bacholers then I will definitely choose AE and go for ME in masters but if you say that ME earns higher after bs than AE (considering all security clearance, citizenship and job availability) then I will choose ME or should I do Electrical engineering in bs? Your suggestions will be highly valued to me.
