I love what they did with kenshi in this game, he was missed in mk11. He went from this cheeseball zoner to this actual skillful character and i love it
Hey Kenshi main here, here are some interesting things I learned playing this character. 1. Fatal blow even on block puts you back in normal stance from sento stance. 2. Frost kameo pushes the opponent on freeze which can make doing combos a bit difficult if you are at range, but Sub Zero kameo doesn't not push opponent on freeze, and also you recover faster, also Sub Zero gives you 50 health. 3. Down forward 1(Ancestral guard) is very difficult to punish (-7) so you can keep yourself safe after unsafe combo strings. 4. There is 2 meter combo in sento stance with no spirit to get sento back safely (look it up). 5. I could be wrong but down + 4 in sento mode might be the longest poke in this game and it has insane pushback. 6. Forward + 4 in sento mode is +1 frames on block, but last hit is a high. 7. There is an entire mechanic where you can input sento moves on releasing buttons, rather than pressing them.
Oh yeah another cool detail, in most moves where Kenshi throws his blue energy (in his fatal blows and in fully charged back forward 4, in forward 2 2), you can see faces of souls escaping. (Ermac's power was absorbed by Sento blade).
Kenshi is top 1 in the game imo. When a good kenshi has sento out then you can’t do anything but guess. If you guess right you don’t get anything in return and if you guess wrong you take 30-50 percent. It’s broke but it takes skill
5 steps to character mastery: - Learn The strings, the special moves, the frame data. Become familiar with what you can do - Train The muscle memory and the combo timing to make sure you can land your hits and setups when you get them -Practice Against the a.i., easy moving targets that can help you learn the spacing and timing of your attacks against a semi-predictable opponent -Implement What you've learned against a friend or casual player, one that you know may be sporadic but will stay more layed back to help further hone your skills against human opponents -Test Yourself against the online tryhards to really put what you've learned into action!
I’ve noticed people pairing Kenshi with Subzero more because of the extra benefits he offers over Frost. Other than giving you the extra 50HP, the cold shoulder is a faster “get back” tool over the snowflake with a hard knockdown and while the point blank freeze doesn’t offer the low mix up it does give you the extra time after a combo launcher to get Sento out. The ice armor is also a nice safety net against zoners once the ghost is gone and you need to sheath Sento back.
Sad that I can't find a lot of comments about the cool comic books news! After all the content this guy pushes out for us, his passion deserves a read!
Excellent job on the comic book, my man! I hope all is well with you. I actually recently finished writing a novella - I'd love to collaborate with you one day in literary works. 🦂👍
You’re 100% right about learning a character, then playing towers, then fighting a friend before playing online. I fought my little brother and he plays Sub-Zero, Smoke, and Scorpion. He’s still better than me and 10 years younger 😂 but it really helped me get better especially with blocking, spacing, and mixing combo starting strings. Everybody teaches combos (including myself) but not enough teach about blocking enough. Online or in tournaments blocking can be everything against some top level players. I have since taught my little brother some different kameo stuff for Dub-Zero and he’s a mf menace. I promise you his Dub-Zero is insane now 😂😂😂
As a kenshi main I love how diverse this character is. If you put in the work and keeo practising sento set ups and combos your opponent will always be stuck guessing. The amount of utility kenshi has is crazy. I think frost is the best kameo for kenshi cause you can mix up your overheads with lows and the stun allows for easy sento set ups. Her pushback can be annoying but i found learning 2 b&b sento combos one for when your opponent is close up and one for when their far away is key. Also even if you have no time to play kombat league just 20 minutes a day in practice really helps youe muscle memory for combos. Also another thing to note is some sento combos when your playing plebs with wifi are impossible to carry out so make sure you have high ping simple combos ready to use.
I’m a Kenshi main who enjoys doing his insanely hard 60% kombos, and yeah. Everybody should learn Kenshi, he is among the most fun characters I’ve played in a fighting game. Top tier, has stupid damage kombos, mixups, unfair block pressure, 50/50s, and a skill ceiling that goes on forever. Take the time, it is so worth it :)
I got to demigod with kenshi and I have not mastered him lol. Once you get your combo into sento stance down most people don’t know what to do about it
I've been sticking to Kenshi since day 1 like a stubborn mule. I just love playing him too much 💀 Thanks for making this dawg. It's already helped me find a few combos I didn't know about lol
For everyone saying Sub Zero is better than Frost, i have to disagree. While Sub offers armor and is less punishable than Frost, she offers you a mix up, opponent would have to guess what you will do next, whereas with Sub they can just always block low, and while Kenshi has 3 overheads in his normal stance, they are all reactable. And for those who say Frost pushes the enemy back after freeze, its not a problem at all. Sento can reach them even at jump distance, and Kenshi can follow up easily.
Imo Kenshi and geras had the most though put in there moveset. They did good with mileena too. Not that the other characters aren't cool but it feels like they went above and beyond. They gave Kenshi the guilty gear puppet mechanic.
We all know that MK is inspired by certain movies ... Bloodsport and Big Trouble in Little China. In your opinion ... was the lastest version of Kenshi inspired by American Samurai? If you have never seen it, then please do! It's Bloodsport with weapons ... I love it! Kenshi ... aka Kenjiro (a member of the Yakuza) ... seeks to retrieve his family's sacred sword from an undeserving white person who claims ownership over it.
I appreciate what true is saying here about practicing combos vs the CPU but I think anyone serious about picking up Kenshi should just go online (after multiple, lengthy visits to practice mode as needed), see what's viable, and adjust accordingly. Spoiler: epic, long combos are not the norm. Sometimes it can be tough enough to switch stances without getting hit.
Sorry it's off topic, but iv realised that there is No character intros in off-line Tower's. So what's the point to get these Guest Character Intros if the only way you can hear them is online? I don't play online and can't hear Van-Dam aka Johnny Cage intros as well as everyone else too! Hope they add this to us loosers who don't play online! Mk11 didn't discriminate how you played.
Ever made says all time. Mk1 in the title don’t help when your saying that. Considering the game had just been released recently don’t help either. Plus there 10+ more mortals kombat a that I can’t keep count with.
Kenshi was the 1 character I was really hoping would be in the game, and I fucking hate playing him. Not because he's bad, the dead opposite, Kenshi and Johnny are bar none the most aids characters in the game. Can't help but feel like an absolute scumbag playing him and I honestly hope his spirit nerfed into the ground.

I'd put him maybe number 3. Have to incorporate ease of play into it
Every kenshi player has sento out by default that's the swords name u must be talking about the ancestor spirit fighter
Johnny Cage.
@@RampartGaming. it’s called sento. Everybody calls the sento sento lol .but yeah that’s what I’m talking about

I’ve been playing Kenshi / Sub lately and I’m having so much fun with him. His combos feel easy to me now. Just keep practicing.
Yup. I labbed kenshi for like 10 minutes and have easily gotten wins online lol

When I buy mk1 I will mail him. Al characters in mk1 pretty good, but Kenshi is so interesting and strong
The Kenshi/Frost duo gives me a headache. I wonder what, or rather, *who* did that

Need a Virgil skin for kenshi
Or at least a Daniel southworth skin kinda like the van dam skin

Congrats on your comic 🎊
Finally i have been wondering if you will make a video about Kenshi!!!! Great work UnderDawg!!
Props to Noah for doing combo strings and special attacks of all male characters and him literally being the kenshi in mk1

I think geras is the hardest to learn, idk maybe because I haven’t tried but half the time I’m confused on what I’m getting hit with lol
I've been using Kenshi for awhile, I never knew he could destroy projectiles using that move

I think Geras is the most difficult character in mk1.
I love kenshi I feel like he needs a lil buff tho 😊
6arakin needs to watch this video to be the top kenshi💀

Kenshi's a hard character but i love sword wielding characters 😢

Shang tsung is still harder, because you have to learn Kenshi, regular Shang, old Shang and everyone else.
now i understand why most of the kenshis disappeared in higher ranks...they rekt the low and mid players while higher ranks are much harder for them.
Nrs players when they add a puppet character for the first time
Triangle triangle triangle

I dont care if kenshi gets nerfed to almost nothing, i will still play this character
Lui kang dualist still the hardest character in mortal kombat history in my opinion
Dude
Watch how sixanakin is going to feel like a pro after this video
Frost and kenshi are giving me ptsd
havik next pleaseeee
How do you control the spirit vs controlling Kenshi while in Sento stance? Hold the kameo button?
Basically. When you hold kameo, Sento won't move/attack
When you block, Kenshi won't move/attack, but Sento will still move/attack
All this and 6arakin is poo at using kenshi 😭😭😭😭
Did NRS make a stance character with 3 different styles and one of them is a puppet style. Thats cool asf but too big brain for me.
So many mk1 videos in and still I don't understand all those numbers at the bottom 😂
