Yes, there is! You're going to need to leverage more 1 and 2 Mana value spells and draw/impulse draw spells since Urabrask will refund you. You'll also want to run 30-34 lands to make sure you're hitting your land drops. You'll not pop off as fast, but when you do, it should still be in a similar fashion! Hope this helps!

Good games! Turns out you can never count a Storm deck out of the game, even when they have 0 cards in hand. There's a Krark+Sakashima Storm player in my playgroup, so I know that all too well.
Man, really disappointed that we barely got to see the other decks, especially because I was interested in building my own Glissa and Borborygmos & Fblthp decks. Props to Corbyn for popping off, but it's such a boring and tedious way to lose to someone

With the way I tend to build my decks, The road I take to get to the ending tends to be different, i.e. non-deterministic. I definitely understand that it's not everybody's cup of tea, but saying that it's cool the first couple times and then becomes tedious is like saying it's cool to attack someone the first couple times. But now this aggro deck is tedious. In both cases your kill condition is the same, but just like how with the aggro deck the creatures you swing with are different, the spells I chain together are different. Again, not forcing people to like storm, I just wanted to put a different way of possibly thinking out into the universe!
It's why I won't play cEDH, shit is boring as fuck. Same card pool, same lines every single time. At some point you can't convince me you're having fun playing the same shit. I wouldn't believe anyone who tried to convince me they do.
The defining line between high power EDH and cEDH is fuzzy, I would say no because most of the combos used aren't cEDH staples and the decks are more themed than typical cEDH decks.
Seems like there was a massive disparity in terms of powerlevel with these decks? Urabrask pretty much doing as expected, looks pretty fun to pilot but horrible to have to sit there and watch....and wait....and wait some more. Definitely a deck you want to have a good rule 0 conversation about before bringing it to a table where people do not know what's about to happen.
@@TheDankestDungeon I dont know the other lists of course, but from what i saw there was not a lot in those decks that could stop a t2/3 combo at instant speed, especially considering swat/red blast etc. Burning inquiry t1 can also really mess up other peoples game plans, potentially mana/colorscrewing them. Seems like a really tough list to go up against. But like i said, dont know all the other lists from a-z and even then it is just my humble opinion ;-) was fun seeing it pop off. And im happy it happens in a game i watch and not across the table from me! ^^
@@jgroen5545 Urabrask was likely the strongest deck here, but the rest of us knew what we were up against. Force of Will, Deadly Rollick, Force of Negation, Deflecting Swat, Silence, etc. were all possibilities here from the rest of the table to stop the incoming storm, just didn't play out that way this time :)
Ok, we can call it already, Urabrask is just better Birgi, not only does it do the same she does but better since you get extra damage, you literally get a table wide past in flames, that's insane!
Really depends on the decks that they're helming. The main thing Birgi has over Urbrask is that she gives you mana off of non-instants and sorceries. Zero mana artifacts in the like

@@dathore the best option would probably be to go for focus on reiterate as your main kill condition. You can make it stormy, but getting reiterate and Mana would probably be the focus
I pulled urabrask from March of the machines and I pulled his other incarnations from the other sets too. I think it's a sign to make my first mono red commander deck 😂
@spiritualhuntr get a bunch of cantrips, impulsive draw and rituals and have a few payoffs that can turn casts into damage. Make sure the non-spell permanent slots in your deck are all high synergy, otherwise they get stuck in hand during storm turns. Wheels can also be good to refuel your hand, which is the main challenge of a mono red storm build.
I walked away at the end of the first game to just start my laundry and came back just in time to see him finish the second. Jeez. Monored storm for the win

Haha Also, the burning inquiry and Underworld Breach could go infinite couldn't it? Just have everyone draw their decks (assuming you done draw yourself out) then pass right?

It depends on my hand, sometimes I do go into the turn with a good idea of a winning line, but it changes on the drop of a hat depending on the interaction my opponents might have and what I draw. I tend to build very fluid and modular storm decks which allows me to pivot in all sorts of situations. The main downside, as others have said, is that the actual winning tends to be tedious. Good thing I'm hilarious 😅

Maybe, but our lists all had similarly strong cards. I have a $50 mono green storm deck with Jugan, the rising star that plays similar to this. 🤷🏾♂️. I was just lucky Matt used his force on Jason the turn earlier

That red deck plays like a blue deck. I hate it :) I prefer Corbin with his white deck. I started out thinking Matt was the evil one on this channel...
Power level is a toughie. If you guys are just getting randos off the lgs then it’s kinda bound to happen, but on yt this is incredibly boring and doesn’t make for much viewer experience. The only “show” I’ve seen have a unique understanding of this is is Star City games’ Commander Vs. I’m glad that there was a game two, to sort of pad out the time and showcase the same deck, but why not just do some practice games? Or run the deck through those “infinite loop” deck sites, like “commander spellbook,” to see if they are incredibly niche or to give viewers a heads up on what combos are available. Sort of preview to build that anticipation. I personally love combos, but they aren’t “fun” when you are watching it or on the other side of the table. I’m still new to the channel, but you guys go through the phases at a nice pace and have interesting banter. I will look to see if there is a “primer” video that may give a thought/ deck building philosophy, that way I may set up the right expectations.

This is a year late, but I use the staff of completion with my Jin-Gitaxias deck as well to proliferate through my saga. It's a very useful artifact.

I wouldn’t say there was a massive discrepancy, but Corbyn is a great storm player and the table failed to keep him down.
