I went thru there and had exactly the same problem with a hema. We took the wrong turn and ended up following a vehicle track that had not been used in a fair while. thru epsilon station so we just went back to using a compass. It took 10 hours to go from innaminka to tipoburra. We are going up the oonadatta track then the birdsville track in 8 days and you had better believe we ARE NOT using the hema. Cheers mate. It works well most of the time..but it pays to have a mental picture of the wider area you are in just in case it shits itself..paper maps are still better though :) Don’t buy the VMS..that is total shit :(

It’s definitely a bit hit and miss at times times so I still use paper maps and Newtracs which I have found to be pretty good :)
