@@nitelite4340 even though I prefer Hadelich, she absolutely is close. Hahn is one of, if not the, most technically skilled violinist out there right now. And in the last year she's really opened up her sound and freedom of expression. Her development is super exciting and she's easily my #2.
He is spectacular. Music that can saves life. This song saved at least 2 Jewish musician life (piano). But the genius of Chopin expressed with Hadelich virtuosity is top notch, the very best.
I've noticed that when Augustin finishes playing, and then smiles, it is as though he has returned to earth from a higher sphere. Lovely. How fortunate we are to hear his wonderful talent. ❤
The 20th century had Nathan Milstein and now the 21st century is fortunate and blessed to have Augustin Hadelich. Like Milstein, Hadelich is a true Master of Invention. But Hadelich is his own man and does not remind you of Milstein or anyone else. His facile technique, his tonal opulence, his artistic vision - it’s all unique and incomparable. I’ve never heard this piece played quite like this! Simply breathtaking.
His control over his violin is something I’ve never seen until now. The man was born to play music, and I bet that facial scar he has only he deepens and fuels his passion for music
Augustin, Your expressive playing through each of your songs moved me to tears. I had a difficult time during my hospitalisation, but your songs were my therapy. Your music brings tranquility to my heart and soul. In between the notes, I sensed the amount of sacrifice you have to make throughout your life in order to deliver such a performance for us. We are privileged. Thank you. May God continue to bless you, and have you use your gift to touch the hearts of many others.
@Sherlock Holmes seriously? The man gives a heartfelt appreciation for what the music has done for him, and THIS is what you say? I'm sorry, but really??? And I see he took your critical theory lesson with grace.
A few years ago I was cleaning house while listening to Pandora's violin station and a piece I had heard a 100 times was played. I am not a person who cries easily, but I suddenly found myself crying into my dish water. It was the first time hearing that piece that I had ever been moved to tears. I had to know who the violinist was. And, it was you. You have been my favorite ever since. I can tell when it is you without looking. You are still the only one who can move me to tears. And, you do regularly. I don't know exactly how to express the difference for me, but it is like this... other people play the violin, but for you, somehow it is as if the violin and you share the same voice. You are not a man with a violin, but one piece, speaking together. Every emotion becomes tangible when you play, and I feel so very grateful for the blessing it is to me. Thank you. Thank you so much for pursuing your passion and sharing that love with the world.
ok, I know I have commented before, but I do want to do a shout out to that excellent pianist who was able to stay with the artist. This is not an easy task, especially when the artist "changes the tempo" to suit the mood. Only the best pianist may be able to keep with this. Charles? You are incredible!
Everything this guy plays can be summed up in two words - perfect control. It's that control that accounts for the exquisite singing tone and flow. And obviously underpinning that control would be excellent technique.
We had the very great pleasure of seeing Haedlich play live as a guest of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra last year. It was simply the best live classical performance I've ever witnessed. The entire house was transfixed on his bow. When he finished, the audience quite literally lept to their feet.
OMG. This version will break your heart and soothe your soul. Bravo!!!! I swear, though, the absolute best part even after seeing this 20 times, is that wonderful smile at the end that says, "yes; this is EXACTLY what I wanted to say." Breathtaking!
The long singing lines of Chopin, which were influenced by his love of Italian opera, sound so amazing on violin. I’m surprised Chopin didn’t write for violin specific sometimes :/
TwelfthRoot2 I sure wish he would have! I keep thinking of how wonderful it would be if Mr. Hadelich would play more Chopin nocturnes, if it’s possible.
Chopin was even sometimes depressed because he wasn‘t able to play violin aswell. He admired mozart for that. Just as a sidenote :) I believe Chopin‘s violin compositions would have been even more amazing than his piano pieces transcribed for violin.
This has long been one of my favorite pieces of piano music and I had no idea there was an arrangement for violin. Now I'm learning it myself, thanks for the inspiration!
While it's fabulous to listen to Augustin Hadelich play, I'm equally impressed by his accompanist, Charles Owen. To hear them together is absolutely divine !
Read the description and can feel how a humble and pure artist Augustin is!!! Love this piece so much and your performance is so touching. Every single time when I listen to it, my eyes are full of tears at the end
Last week, we went to Woolsey Hall to hear classical music, the Maestro being featured violinist. Prior to his performance, the orchestra played the introduction. When he came on stage, the audience boomed with applause. He put his bow on the strings and then, Hadelich played his Stradivarius. I’d never heard that in life but, I knew from the sound, which I can only describe as ethereal. This combination, with the background musicians, nirvana! I’m hooked! Thank you, Augustin for playing at Yale! 🎻
Such a moving, stunning performance...just like everything else he plays. It doesn't matter how many times I've heard a piece played, in his hands everything sounds fresh and new...full of new beauties to be discovered.
There are so many layers and nuances you create, Augustin. Such a joy to listen to, and so much to learn from, even though I'm not a musician but an actor. Arka Mukhopadhyay (India)

This performance is one of the wonderful experiences of my life. I don't think anyone could play it more perfectly. I am always touched when I hear it.

Danke sehr .
We heard Augustin in concert in Vancouver and... Oh my, the power and emotion from his performance. A little bright gem mounted in life's dull trudge. I didn't feel worthy to share the same air space as he and his skillful gift.
Non so se son innamorata più di lui, della sua musica o dei suoi occhi espressivi... Quel che é certo é che fa vibrare il cuore ogni volta che lo si ascolta.. Almeno per me. L'interpretazione di questo pezzo é da togliere il fiato.. grazie per farci provare emozioni così.

Totalmente de acuerdo! He is Not only a virtuoso, he is The Best musician of the musicians!
A musician who is not afraid of sentiment - I love his expressive playing.
Picksalot this is what I like most about his playing! ❤️
His violin sings more than many others. They may be as technically proficient as he is but he has something more which raises it to the sublime
@@jeanettegoldstein9575 I totally agree with you.
He let his soul speak through that violin beautifully
😇
First time I prefer violin version over the piano original. He is incredible
Joshua Bell's version is also lovely!
@@Amcsae this is true, it is good...but just not AS good, IMHO. The emotion in this one always brings me to tears.
exactly! my friend told me about this and I was very skeptical - Chopin on the violin? but this is incredible.

He was in Chopin's universe hahaha
His tone is excellent. And, his execution is flawless.

I couldn't agree more. Yet, have you heard Aaron Rosand's version of it? I think it comes up at first when typing in "Nocturne Rosand". Regards
Mr Hadelich is a singular violinist. His music is so sensitive. A simply stunning interpretation.
I agree, fantastic technique combined with unmatched expressiveness and sensitivity
Yeah soooo sensitive, thats the word!! All of his music!!! ❤
Listened to this four times in 30 minutes.

the way he is so sentimental is insanely mesmerizing. he seems so in love with the music, the violin, all of it
This is one of the most perfect 4 1/2 minutes I have ever heard in my life.

That smile at the end it's so sincere. It's great to se someone so passionate about their playing. Also Chopin 'o'
