I cut billet aluminum 5052 O63 It’s super clean and never dirtys up the water water like steel. I have over 3300 cuts so far. Only changed my water twice. I use a blue cutting cutting solution in mine with water. Cool video. But after you cut for a while you may realize this is more than what’s needed. I see so many guys doing elaborate drain systems. Not saying they are wrong or bad. But I spend my time on my cut quality instead of water filtration. Nice shop and nice video though.
As long as the drain inlet is sealed and the top is vented, gravity is your friend. The water will continue to drain from the table into the tank past the top of the side inlet as long as it can vent.
Awesome videos(3 parts) and water system! I’m currently in the process of building mine and looking to do something similar. I appreciate your time in sharing. Also, what can I purchase the blue cup guard around the torch? Thanks in advance!
I understand tig welding these in, but is there any reason why they couldn't just be clamped in as you would in a kitchen sink and using plumbers putty or butyl tape if you don't have or have access to a tig?
As a welder, I will say perheat to minimize warping.

I'd convert the original drain into an over flow so you can pump into the pan non stop the the water level is controlled by an overflow

I think that would be a fine idea. They could probably even be glued in with a high quality adhesive.
