This is the gaming footage of the Doom wad "Phobophiliac" playing with Doom mod "Guncaster" and other mods combined on GZDoom4.7.1.
Phobophiliac is a single slaughter map made by Justnecro. Justnecro decided to make a map similar to a slaughtermap after exeprimenting his work of MIDIs.
Phobophliac contains 6000+ hostiles, which could be a heavy challenge to a 5-year-old potato console that I’m using at this point. The custom monster packs wear down performance severely as the kill counts over 1000+, so I went with Vanilla Monsters plus the doom mod “LegenDoomLite” which spices things up a bit more in this run.
The combat is basically battle arena one after another. However, except for the very first one (the long hallway) and the last one (where the blue skull key is), most of the fights have enough space to maneuver. The long hallway is where the game difficulty drastically lifts up and is quite challenging. If the player can not rush through the door swiftly and grab supplies to proceed, he might face hordes of pinkies and imps swarming through the door and run out of ammo eventually. The Mancubie/Revenants/Cyberdemons turrets and the Arachnotrons squads are big threats, so keep an eye out for those dangerous projectiles while moving around. The last arena where the blue skull key is another rough one to mention; waves of monsters spawn into the battleground constantly and the giant Cyberdemon with his Cyberdemon minions reinforces in the mid-fight could mean an instant death to the player. I feel that the last arena fight might be a bit RNG-ish for vanilla gameplay, even with fully upgraded status, my angry dragon’s armor got completely melted in a blink of an eye lol Fortunately, there are at least 4 megaspheres placed at corners.
I haven’t played Doom for almost 8 months since last August, so Phobophiliac was a bit intense as my first comback video. Yet, it was quite a lot of fun, to be honest. Frankly, I played an extra 10+ runs for this map after I had done recording and editing stuff. I really enjoy Phobophiliac. Thank you, Justnecro!!

Man. I am still amazed that no games at ALL can replicate the feeling of POWER that guncaster gives , specially the freaking DEADMAKER. Such COWARDICE! Anyway, enough ranting , thanks a lot for this amazing show of catharsisis that only this mod can give to me!

is this hard? or you didnt struggle at all?
i consider it hard or difficult if it takes more than 100 attemtps, how many did it take?
It's challenging in vanilla gameplay for sure. I do struggle when entering the first long hallway and the blue skull key fight before Icon of Sin. This run was my attrmpt no.8 for recording. Former 7 attempts were 5 success and 2 failure. Attempt No.8 has less time used so I chose it.
@@DoomGuncasterK i got too cocky and used colourful hell and legend doom and got wrecked.. but then beated it in vanilla, took me a while.
