Boot plus Nemesis intangibility is one of my favorite dumb interactions in the game. Getting Boot, having it do nothing, and then all of the sudden getting minor value from it Act 3 is hilarious
I have literally only ever successfully played a Grand Finale twice, and one of those was from an attack potion. I look forward to seeing Baalor turn it into a wincon.
for grand finale is best to have small deck with varaiety of draw numbers - like unabgraded and upgraded acrobatics backflip calc gambas unapgraded and upgraded prepares and others and ofc pyramid oh yeah and frozen eye Grand Finale deck destroys corridor figths if you can get it going

That’s crazy! I haven’t won 2 in a row on a20h but I did win a20h on the clad with only 67 hours in the game. lol a20h with him and a18 watcher then like a2 with defect and silent. I have played them a bunch too I just didn’t climb the ascensions because I wanted to play for funzies.

I feel like if there is a single card you could point to to praise this games overall phenomenal gameplay design it’s grand finale, a card that on paper has no right to be good with such a specific condition to meet to play it but the character it’s on has every tool they need to make it work with a bit of luck and proper deck building and when it works it WORKS
Although Baalor skipped damage this Jaw Worm fight, he did it to block 5, which I think is correct. But the fight still highlights why it's incorrect to block for only 2 or less. As you have a fairly high risk of taking 7+ later on.
Feel like that thinking ahead in the store would have really helped land a lot more grand finales! Great run, love watching and I’m always learning something new.
In the first jaw worm fight, either way you had to take at least 7... On the 12 hit turn you couldve played all 3 strikes and killed the next turn and took 12 dmg Or you couldve played 1 defend and killed on the 22 hit turn taking 7 damage Or did what you did playing 3 defends and then 3 defends again and killing after the 22 hit taking 7 You did the best play
This is a deck I would love to see with prismatic shard so you can get barricade and body slam. You can line up a bunch of grand finales and charge up your block for a devastating body slam and all the dmg is free so the energy is used to build the combo by drawing and discarding
this year, Baalor is trying to get a 20 win streak on A20 heart with every character. He tried with Ironclad for the first few month and his best was 11. He's now trying with Silent, planning to revisit Ironclad later in the year.
I'm teminded of a grand finale that i got from neow once. Got lucky with it in early fights, and even more lucky with early relics and cards so i could gaurantee play it turn 2 after half way up act 1.
I die inside when Baalor upgrades anything other than Calculated Gamble This card gets SO much better when you have multiples, cycling through the deck for (almost) no energy. And you cannot convince me that taking Expertise over energy at 35:08 wasn't a huge mistake. 2 free energy per deck cycle, when you have two gambles, gets you pretty close to infinite. Concentrate does kinda sorta the same thing, but costing you 3 cards instead of zero.

Frozen eye can make it a lot easier
It’s rough to make it a win con but out of every characters weird gimmicky cards it is the only one that actually is good enough to be a win con

Probably the best run I’ve ever seen you have in terms of sheer invincibility. Once you got tough bandages it was all over.

The best streak he got was 11, iirc. A lot of the winning attempts are here, I think the vods channel has everything
