Sh!t is the word - what a bloody crap year. Things must get better eventually..... Must be very hard, but glad you shared.
It’s very good/brave of you to show us everything. The good, the bad and the ugly. Thank you for your honesty. You show us how to get up and carry on when all you probably want to do is shut the camera off. You’re a tonic.
Oh Ian surly your luck is about to change ❤ I love the way you carry on, but it must be gut-wrenching 😢
We all have to play the hand we are dealt Joanna, Every day is a school day, some lessons are easy, some…. Not so much. 🙂👍🏼
Hi Ian, I know everyone has bad days, but seriously this last year has been one thing after another for you and yours! I admire the way you keep your chin up and carry on! 👍
Can’t stop swimming Alwyn, or I will sink. 🙂👍🏼
I love how biskit just stands on the machine looking out bet she looking for a rat.
May your cattle be well and stop expiring, may your daughters be happy and healthy, may your muck heap be 60C, may Mrs P's nails sparkle, may Biskit (the true poo turning pooch) find a rat and may your loses just be a new lense cover.
I worked in pig industry years back , went through blue ear , swine fever , wasting sryndrome and foot and mouth just to mention some , all takes a toll but if you have live stock your going to have dead stock doesn’t make it any easer though .
Seems like you need a bigger bucket. Might save a bit of time and diesel.
Well farmer P while your Mustang and Doosan do a good job you need to invest in a tele handler make your jobs a lot easier 🤔
This really sucks Ian. I'm so sorry. 😢
Well I'm sorry for your loss man hopefully your year will get better
Best wishes to Sam and the rest of the family! All other problems may hurt but dont count!

Farming is never easy, hopefully the year will get better.A good job on the muck heap.
Another sad update, best wishes to Sam and Holli. Hope they both feel better soon! Hope you are feeling better too!
Am so sorry you are having a tough time with your animals. Hope things will get better for you soon
Ok thats good
Farmer cut grass in the field back of me last night 7 pm to almost 8 must be expecting warm/dry weather. New estate Newbies probably upset at noise. Getting clumsy in old age it's combination of sight, balance and indeference.😊
Oh Ian not a nice way to start the day. Cocidia is an absolute nightmare.
We messages last week about it here I went out yesterday to one of my yearlings having it. A bullock about 350 or more kilos.
Let’s hope things improve Ian.
Best wishes from Ireland 🇮🇪
Hey Ian my like put the score up to 1k so something is going right today, sorry for another loss, I think somedays you must feel like chucking it all in, but we soldier on and get other jobs done, good on yer mate. Stay safe out there in the wild west.
More rotten luck, Farmer P 😩. So sorry you have lost another calf 😭. Mary's little one, I believe. So, so sad 😢.
Then Spike 😢😞 Such a cutie. You did your best, Farmer P. At least his suffering is over 🦔❤.
My thoughts are that the cows came back to the barn because you took the calf back there. They followed you. They were all wailing over their loss. Don't think they were after hay in this instance. Bet you are going to say "Nah! It was definitely the hay they were mooing for". 😊.
Biskit looked quite regal in the Doosan. Is that her favourite farm transport ?
No cracks in the video view from this end, Farmer P. 😘👌.
Wishing you better days ahead, Farmer P.
Take care and hug for Biskit 🐶🩷🤗
Sorry for your hard luck. Things can only get bettet🙏 🍀
Cracking video as always. Farming is not an easy profession. Al you can do is your best. Hope Samantha is doing ok
WOW.. like you said it's been a long time since you've lost any calves... but this year is down right awful....
SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS IAN IT WILL GET BETTER SOON I HOPE AND THE HEDGEHOG AS WELL AND I HOPE HOLLI AND SAM ARE OK AND DOING WELL ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Keep up the good vlogs
Good video sorry about the calf mr. P. 👍👍
23:58 great content again
Am so sorry your having to go thro this again. Hope your luck turns real soon. Glad Holli getting better . 😢😢 Poor mummy cow 🐄🐄
Sorry about little one bud. You've certainly not had it easy. Really feel for you bud. Poor beasties. Fingers crossed things start to pick up with the better weather. All the best from us and the woofers in scottyland
Thanks Tim 🙂👍🏼
I'm so sorry that you lost another calf as well as Spike.
Glad to hear Samantha is out and beginning to feel better and I hope Holli gets better. Continued bad luck with animals this time.
When you disinfect and clean the barns out, would it not be a good idea to dig some of the stone floor out and replace that with some new material? You could then use the stuff you dig out to fill the holes in the muck heap up, so any bugs and bacteria are out in the crap pile and not in with the cattle?
Possibly Hugh, what I really want is a decent concrete surface with drains to a sump, unfortunately it’s not an option open to me unless the grant schemes are expanded to cover the lower priority areas of the country such as ours. 😕
very good video as always but a sad day 😢👍❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
I know the feeling man I'm having the same day wondering weather to great day or not
Tough year Farmer P, hoping that this is now the end of the bad luck, it's obvious how much you care for your cows and your luck has to turn.
TB was the straw that broke the camel’s back this time Howard, it has far reaching consequences that most folks will never understand.
@@FarmerP Keep your positivity the tide will turn.
👍
You do have runs of it , in 2023 I saw the knacker man once , this year , think he's moving in...the only upside is less animals to TB test !
Oh Ian… ffs! My heart goes out to you … what a crap time you’re having … so sorry 😢
Wow , so sorry , it has been a awful year .so sorry ..
As for the hedge hog you didn't know .
Same with calf 😢
You know the cattle are acting not themselves they usually love being out and far and away . Just a observation .
Hope your girls feel better .
We'll keep on keeping on .
Firstly - hope your Daughters are all getting better. Nice Digger work on the muck pile. Think you needed a bit of you time.
Second - Been a rough year with the Cattle and its tough for you. Bloody TB, Bloody Badgers. Only consolation is attrition is less than when you had Maggot Taxis 🐑🐑 Chin up mate.
Third - Not much more time to comment - Getting married today (after a 41 year engagement)
Congratulations Trevor, I wish you both joy of the day 🙂👍🏼🎂
Thank you very much.
I'm sure it will be an experience.
Poor Mary 😢😢
Well things can only get better what a bummer,I think it was more than just cold for the hedgehog or you must have had some very cold nights .
If its any consolation I guess you can say you had your three bits of bad news in the day - Calf/Hedgehog/ Daughters so you should now be on the upward climb. Doesn't make it any easier appreciate. Still if you saw Tom Pemberton's Live today you will see you're not the only one going through it at present. Someone's dealing some bad cards out there at present me thinks
👍👍👍 ☘️
Would be interesting to see the difference between the wood chip muck and the straw muck. Ours is definitely different going from predominantly wood shavings to straw
Straw breaks down faster and doesn’t contain the lignin content of woody plants, breaking down the tougher structure of chip or shavings will suck Nitrogen from the soil, it will return a lot of that nutrient value later, but too much Woodchip, too soon can definitely reduce availability of some nutrients to plant roots.
Don't you worry about it Sam you look Great, Stunning as always! Mr. P glad you finally got that Shit Moved! 😆
😀
I am in Normandy for the 80 Anniversary of d day
Don't be too upset about Spike, Ian....
I looked up his Date, and in human😮 years, he was 108 years old.
Poor O'l geezer died of old age!!!😂
@FarmerP
I guess the possibility exists. If he was elderly at least he had a good innings and you made his last hours warm and comfortable, Farmer P 🦔❤️
My wife just said to me, you don’t half watch some shit, if only she knew 🤣🤣
She’s not wrong though😄 When you farm livestock your regularly up to your ankles in the stuff 💩😄
Poor spike
Was that the calf who was spending time on its own in the barn
great video has always farmer p ian and Mrs p mother in law p Mikey mille baby pullen Sam emma Abbi and holli and miss biskit miss crumble miss gypsy miss pepper and miss pickle miss Muppet 👍
No, the calf who liked spending time in the barn is now happily back out in the field.
👋🏼😎
The vet should have known
They only had the information I gave them Ritchie.
Don’t think your the only one chap , Crawford farm who has beef in Scotland has gone down with coxy
I hear It’s been a really bad year for it.
And that's not losing my vehicle was bad but that's worse that's your livelihood
Poor little calf
Ian was that the calf who kept spending time in the barn on it own
No mate, that was 210, this one was the second poorly calf that I thought was the fitter of the pair.
I'm so sorry for your continuous problems. It's not that you don't care for your animals. You do, but fate is being very unkind to you and you devotion is not being rewarded. Things WILL change. They always do.
😢😢💕💕💕💕💕🙏🙏🙏🕊

Don't thimk Townies realize how hard farming is
Probably because most farmers won’t willingly share stuff like this for fear of being labelled a failure, yet it can happen to the best.
Gutted for you
How much time do you spend on average editing these videos Ian?
Between one and two hours usually, sometimes a bit longer.
So sorry you've lost another calf from that nasty infection. Do you ever check the cows who lost a calf for mastitis.
I walk around them every day, we have never had a case of mastitis in one of our Dexters….. Yet.
So sorry for the absolute shit day all around. (hugs)
What a f day.
Awful shame but shit happens in more ways than one. 👍❤
