Thank you for taking the time to explain that. I use to be into car audio back in my teens i just had a punch amp and 2 15s lol. Now I'm getting back into it and getting more in depth learning about ohms and hertz etc.
Thanks for this video! I’m doing my first big build, I have a 1991 C1500 single cab that I’m doing a blow through with 4 sundown 15’s with a 12k amp. I bought 2 6.5’s and 2 horns from my friend that got me into bass and been on the fence with installing the horns until I came across your video. Love the builds man and thanks again for the advice! I plan too do a video of my 4th order when it’s finished, so be on the look out I think you’ll like it! Much much much love brother, thanks for all the awesome content!
your the funkin man bro! big ups...i found you mid 2020 covid era tiktok side frame ...and now im happy to watch and learn from your you tubes. bass-head since the 90s ~ dj.lunchmeat~
I purchased door pods from Custom Speaker Pods online and I was disappointed. I had to alter the actual pod to make them work and in my opinion if a customer spends $200 on a product like this they should be ready to install once you receive them. So next time I'm just gonna try to build my own from scratch, I've watched all of your videos on door pods plus others and yes there's a bit of work if I'm gonna have to alter the pods from other companies I may as well build some myself. Thanks for everything you do Jerry.
I've been obsessed with horns since 1979 when my dad was blasting the old sansui setup, they would still mop the floor with anything on display in a store today
Love me some HLCD's. My recommendations for awesome compression drivers are B&C DE250 ($110), Selenium D220Ti ($60) both sound fantastic on the right horn flare/waveguide. Budget pick is Pyramid TW44 yes, really ($20/pair) Eminence also makes great sounding compression drivers
I don't think it matters that they are 8 ohm, with 150 watts vs 300 it's like 5 sticks of dynamite vs 10. I'm running 40 watt 1" comp drivers on my "night club" system. I'm not familiar with those drivers though. What is the top and bottom end on them? Can they play as high as a regular tweeter?
HellO Jerry! I'm Greg! I literally just saw your short video about horns. Mann you so inspire us'es... (First time I commented with us'es. Heh!) I'm not the only one whom you inspire and will inspire. Of course I liked, subscribed and hit that Bell! Thank You!
I'm glad you said something cuz I was thinking if I don't like the sound of my Orion hcca bullet tweeters (109db) I'm definitely not going to like horns, but from what your saying I would love them! I'm definitely interested. I don't like when people aim a hand full of bullets with a gillion watts right at my face it sounds like shit!!! Thank you Jerry! PS Any good sounding horns besides ds18 that you would recommend? thx
Ey bud all the way from south africa love your content on here and tick toc. Question: why pride audio subwoofers? Why not the likes of sundown or DC AUDIO? Plz enlighten us😁 and keep up the teachings👌🏻

How do you feel about using PA horns for music?? I’m talking about the kind that are on ice cream trucks because on amplifiers they absolutely talk to you and get very loud on little power
@@SiahFiyahI honestly feel like they can sound extremely amazing if you know how to tune them correctly, not saying this in a self flattering or biased way at all but I think most people don’t have an ear for them like I do and a few others out there, I’ve seen a lot of people on UA-cam posting videos trying to showcase them and although most of the people got them to play loud it still wasn’t near the horn’s potential, I realized people don’t know that to get them to play their clearest and loudest you have to put them on their own amp and set the low and high pass filters correctly because they shine in the 500 - 2k Hz area that’s where they sound their best at and can get extremely loud in that area and sound good doing so
@@bailey2517they are not megaphones, they are more than capable of just speaking through them, they can play music very cleanly if they are hooked up correctly… most people don’t know how to…! So that’s probably why you feel like they’re not good for music
I would love to meet you or if I could afford have you to fix my stupid ugly tattoos lol first real I would to help you help spread the wealth bass on bro
Hey bro how it going man like I really enjoy your vids man keep it up man I can tell you you really a good guy love to meet you all if ever in Tennessee area hit me up bro
Horns hit that special frequency range but what ppl get the bad taste in their mouth about them is the ear peircing or screech they give off when tuned improperly **stunt wall bozos** but when tuned properly to work cohesively with your mids an Maybe tweeters you shouldn't put alot of power to them the 8ohm impedance on the diaphragm is like that for a reason. they wnt last long being pushed an if not listened to at a distance to compensate itll saound absolutely terrible. This also depends on brand an the horn piece you choose sn big big biggest part of using them in the vehicle is placement. Youll get whay is called "beaming" with poor placement.

How many do you really need when they are a metre from your ears?
Jerry that door is BEAUTIFUL!!! I really hope i can get my doors to look half that good when i do my next system.

Liking that door panel good job 💪🏻
horns are the way to go when you want really loud...but there is a smaller choice that will brighten your day and your sound

That's facts. tweeters need very little power to get loud.
awesome meeting you all these years ago bro! love from New Zealand
definitely was only 2.5 years ago
Can I place the horns without a speaker cabinet? Leave it out on top of my subwoofer or side of the back seats?
Nice👍🏼 i love horns.

Is that door done out of wood thing is awsome
I want to know the difference between horn shapes, I cont find anything on UA-cam

Back in the 90’s I use to use EV metal horns. 4 in the back of your hatchback would kill your ears. You would hear me coming blocks away. 😊🤙🏻

They sound like an ice cream truck
Not clear
Why would you wanna do that though? You finna put megaphones on your A-pillars?
