Dear Friends:
Hello to you from Sunlight Basin. I’ve made a new Luddite video, recorded out here in Northwest Wyoming. As expected, the joy of being in the mountains is counter-balanced with the absence of sturdy internet or even a hint of Wi-Fi. Often, this is a blessing . . .
Last Sunday I recorded an English folk song at sunset on the edge of a nearby pond where we sometimes see moose. No moose wandered into the frame, but the setting is green and restful, and there was some lively birdsong to accompany me.
I did everything I could to upload the video - perched on log fences, hung from pine branches, leaned off porches, scrambled up on rocky hillsides and truck beds, arm aloft with The Device, but to no avail.
As I wait for technology to somehow, magically step up to the plate, I’d like to share with you my recording of “Ubi Caritas” - loving-kindness is the most important precept, during these tumultuous days, and always.
I’ll keep making song videos, with the certainty that I will soon be able to share them with you, with the splendors of the Yellowstone Country to light the way.

About 25 years ago a friend and I drove in the beautiful Galilee region of northern Israel and this song was playing the radio, your beautiful voice performance and arrangement made me feel elated and i immediately fell in love with this song and your voice. i was working in Tower Records and it took me a few days of research to find out the correct name of the performer and then i heard the whole album and many more of your wonderful songs many of which i listen to till today. Ubi Caritas is very spacial for me and always takes me to a deep peaceful and meditative space inside me today as it did then if not more so. of course I researched the lyrics and they are profound as well, I am Jewish and the prayer is Christian but this unified truth of loving kindness charity and God is universal and touches every living heart, in this space there are no religions or differences at all, only one truth and one unity. bless you for bringing such a divine beauty to this world, hoping to see the new videos soon, take care.

Connie I used to work with your brother Jeff, must have been around 1990. He was selling your cassettes, I asked him to have you sign one for me, but I believe it was he who signed it. He was a blast. Love your voice.

Although I do not understand the language being song in the lyrics, the music and vocal harmonies in this song are beautifully done. One of the first songs by Connie that caught my attention back in the 1990's.
