They have what the others just don't and never can... and they’re malleable enough, that you can easily make them sound like what the others have. Simply the best, in my book.

There’s something about the way you are able to explain how you approach putting together tones. Particularly Marshall / Friedman tones that really makes it doable to understand what you are going for while you talk about it and then understand what you mean when you play the tones. It’s been really invaluable to me as a guitar player when picking gear I want to get to get the tones in my head. And also as a UA-camr to be able to demonstrate stuff. It’s so important to know what you are looking for and I think you do that better than most demo peeps. Kudos.

I got the IRX a couple of months ago and I'm still blown away by the tones and the touch!
I don't think I'll get the IRD for now because I'm less into that kinda thing, but glad there are more options for everyone!

Awesome video on the pedal. You and Dave always knock it out of the park. The cool harmony section of the song with the Ibanez was very cool and unique. I know that felt good to record. The pedal sounds fantastic and has a lot of great usable features.

@@PeteThorn you're TOTALLY WELCOME, of COURSE, you are always, and I mean ALWAYS... The ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!!!!!!!... But not Pete best... 😸😸😸... Although, you ARE!!!!!!!!!! I think I told you before, that I really, and I mean REALLY Love to see you do some demos of Greg fryers pedals; you know him... The guy who refurbed Brian May's guitar... The trick is, of course, to set the amp correctly! Just for historical reasons, I'm a pretty good friend of Mark Reynolds, who was instrumental in the refurb process, by providing a spray booth and making the surrounds for the pickups... And he HAS, As a thank you from Brian, been to his house and played ALL of his stuff!!! I know no one more qualified, with the possible exception of Pete malindrone, or maybe Greg, himself, he knows more about Brian's settings and sounds!!!!!!! The main thing that Brian does, his turn all of his tone OFF... When he uses his treble boosters, otherwise, it becomes QUITE UNPLEASANT 🙀😸!!!!!!! Have you seen his (Brian's) Star licks video? It doesn't only work with the red special! It Virtually works on ABSOLUTELY EVERY guitar you play! You control everything through the volume and tone on the guitar, and it just makes EVERYTHING SOUNDS BETTER!!!!!!!!!! Of course, we are naturally thinking of AC 30s, but AC4s, also, or any other amp you plug into!... Even a black star fly! And I'm thinking about your demo of the BC2, and I've used it behind two of Greg's treble boosters, And I can tell you that it sounds ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, But ... Only YOU, in my opinion 😸, could make the perfect video demo of what is possible with them!!!!!!!;;; I think there's a HUGE amount of the population out there who would ENORMOUSLY, AND GREATLY BENEFIT from seeing what you can do with that!!!!!!!!!! By the way, I've been following you for literally years, and YEARS!!!!!!!!!! And I annoy pretty much all my friends by forwarding your videos to them!!!!!!!!!! 😸... I DIDN'T like it, or NOT.. 😸... I know that I told you before that you were Andy timmons demo was SO TOTALLY COOL AND AMAZING, that I actually wanted to LEARN IT!!!!!!!!!! Did not expect such a creative intro. Love the way you layer guitar solos when one starts just before the other ends! Pete, I bet I'm not the only one who would really dig a video on how go about making your intro songs, start to finish. (please tell us how do you get your drums sounds--do you play those parts too?)

As far as the gear goes, I passed on the IR-X mostly because I just don't need that much gain. Not a metal guy at all. But this looks like it was basically designed for someone like me. Good lord.

Thanks for bypassing the chorus for me :) sounds good! Seems like the cleans may not get quite as clean as on the IR-X? But I’m loving the gain tones on this.
Oh it will get cleaner, I just wanted that sound. I was probably running the game on about four so you could back it down to three or so and it should clean right up.
Hi Pete. I have a question, may be you can do a video about. How can i cope or overcome frustration with learning guitar? I've been autodidact since too much years (more focused on simple electric guitar stuff), but now i'm studying classic guitar on an academy, so i have a lot of bad habits and postponed a lot of basic stuff. Any advices? I won't like to end my career still having the same frustrations and feel the same way later. And... do you have 10th street tabs? I would like to learn it reading, but maybe will try from ear. Thank you for your music and support as a lovely human being!
What kind of preamp would you recommend for a Lukather (7th One era) tone? Ideally I would like to play direct to the board.

No, absolutely not. I was inspired to use the 12 string right out of the gate for the first part. And then my trusty Yaron LP for the fills and solo, and my only P90 Guitar currently is my Macmull... wanted to use P 90s as well as a Strat for one part in my 64 Strat has been sorely neglected lately.
It's got a unique sound that I love that was perfect for the part.
My Suhrs are my main squeeze, just finished 47 dates on tour and was using 90% Suhr (including an Aura for a "LP style". Sometimes in the studio, I like to bust out other stuff, most of which I've had for eons like the old Strat.

I don't have a Tube Amp Pete but I use my old Roland Jazz Chorus Combo 70, I have been on 25 years of not playing and looking for a tube sound and feel for home recording mainly, is this or other pedals able to give me that tube Sound in the home/studio, Very old sch. & Old too 88, from pro work ? Ty Brother, & My Music-In-Law 🤘🎸🤠

Sure! Splitter on input and mixer on output, actually even better would be a panned stereo (simple mixer or FOH can do it) with one from IR-X and one from IR-D!
