I love that you do individual games for each of your players. Dang! Takes me back to my first DM, who would do that. No one else ever has. I started playing in 1980. Your players are very lucky to have you!
@@TheADHDM I loved 3.5ed, but I am only playing 5ed campaigns now. We moved & my 3.5ed books are somewhere in a storage shed, safe & secure from everyone & everything. LOL.
I've got a video coming up going over it in more detail, but the gist of it is: During group sessions, put in adventure hooks for individual players. Ranges from "you heard about this shrine to the god you worship back home" to "The smith tells you she can enchant your sword, but you need to gather rare herbs", really anything that can shine a light on their character without having to use group session time. After a couple of these, players will start setting their own goals, or looking for their own hooks. Any time they're like "I really want [insert magic item, proficiency, feat, etc.]", that is a really good seed for solo sessions. They're usually pretty short, I run them on discord, in text messages, or over a cup of coffee somewhere.
Nice, thanks for the info! I’m not a dm (yet) but I am interested in trying. I’ll keep an eye out for your video! Our current campaign is run by my brother, and he has done a pretty good job of integrating character stories into the world, but I can see how this would be useful!
I just found you but I'm loving your content! I love your explanations and use of visual aids. I just got diagnosed with ADHD, and I like a lot of the resources you give for tracking and organizing stuff! (Also ADHDM is a super cool and creative name, well done!)
@@TheADHDM Oh yeah, it absolutely is! The understanding has helped so much! Before I was just weird and didn't know why I did things. Now I know I just have this thing that I can learn how to handle!
Thank you for watching! If there's anyone in your life that you think could use the videos, put them on a DVD and send them through the mail! Or share a video link. Whatever you prefer.

My first DM set an impossible standard for me too! What Edition of D&D (Or any other role playing game) has been your favorite?

This is good advice
I appreciate it! Thank you for watching
I haven’t been playing long, but I’ve never heard of individual sessions. I’d love to know a little more detail about how that works.
