A brief run down of he Ampeg Micro CL Amp with my two cents thrown in of course. Like discussed in the video, all gear is dependent on does it meet YOUR needs and not someone else's. Finding the right gear is easy when you first find what gap you need to fill and hen are intentional about finding what can best fill that void.
That's the best way to not get stuck in the trap of just buying bass gear for the sake of it because that is an expensive road and also one that usually takes away from he true focus of playing the bass beyond our current capabilities.
Please let me know in the comments what your thoughts are on the Micro CL and as always HAPPY SHREDDING!!!!
Thinking of buying one of these for solo home practice, do i need to worry about blowing my windows out?👍♥️🎸👍
@@markkeeler584 There are some things I wouldn’t recommend this amp for however for what you just asked I will ALWAYS recommend this amp.
You don’t need to worry about blowing out the windows especially with the minus 15db input BUT you could figure out a way to rattle them if needed 🤘
@@1minutebass thank you, will order one tomorrow.🤘
My soundman just brought two of these micro stacks over that a bass player was complaining they were not working right and making noise. They were both working perfectly. The problem is these are made for bedroom practice volume levels, not stage volume with a drummer. If you turn the volume to 50%, it breaks up with all the tone controls flat. On the back it says power consumption is 85 watts at the wall. That means it has about 50 watts actual to the speaker. I told him to buy a real amp to play on stage with a full band not a toy. 50 watts is nothing for bass other than practice amp. You would not even be able to use one of these at a rehearsal.
That’s why it’s a perfect amp for me. No fan noise and incredible tone for recording UA-cam videos or even making studio recordings. Anyone who buys an amp with “micro” in the title of it thinking it will work for stage shows is going to get exactly what they deserve lol
How would you rate this for reggae (bass up, highs down)? Im on the hunt for something that can get a fat low end but be played at home and my Fender Rumble 40 isnt cutting it
@@steenb.5571 this amp would be great for reggae. Neck pick up, boost the lows in the amp, pluck halfway between neck pick up and and bass neck, and literally BOOM
I plan on running a guitar through this with some pedals. Thoughts?
I think it would work great especially if you’re looking to use any kind of octave pedals too
I have seen that amp has a lot of issues and there is not a clear solution, do you know something about that?
@@eljhonabrother299 Not that I know of. What’s are some of the issues that you’ve seen?
@@1minutebass the amp start making something like a scratchy "dirty pot" type of noise, this occurs even with few time of use. There aré a lot of videos about that
@@eljhonabrother299 I’ve had zero issues since April (5 months now) but if that does happen you’ll see it in real time because I don’t edit out anything lol
@@1minutebass 😂🤔 ok, regards Man! Thanks for your responses
@@eljhonabrother299 you’re right it start to make a little noise and then the sound goes on and off I have to give her a little slap on the the top of the head
I played on one at GC and loved it. Could be a touch louder... but I love the tone.
You took this over the rocket 112?
@@puffersays9155 I sure did and I like the Rocket 112 but for me I prefer the slight punch of the two 10” speakers over the slight boominess of the one 12” speaker.
The simpler the better.
