I was at gleed boys too 1998ish lived in Spalding for a long time but moved when I had kids it used to b such a nice place to live but now it's horrible such a shame..... I'll always call Spalding home tho
I guess it perfectly shows what I missed out in 2021 when I was doing a 206 mile long bicycle ride in one day and cycled through the town. (I live in Milton Kenyes) Then of course I didn't care about looking at the beauty of any town too much, I just wanted to do the thing in one day before sunset haha, but one day I will hopefully return here perhaps with a motor vehicle so I will have time to properly check out the town.
Wow! That's impressive! Can't believe it's possible on English roads:) You, driving a lot around the UK for work. And every time I see someone cycling on the road, I think it's a dangerous activity sometimes. Bless you. Thank you for watching my modest vid😊
@@LetsexploreUKtogether Thanks for you reply! I also have had one or two accidents and a handful of close calls but looking at the sheer statisctics of serious injuries or fatalities divided by the total number of riders and every ridden mile on a bicycle and also the health benefit I can gain from riding keeps me going and going. :) I pretty much only needed to spend some extra money on a pro bike fit for a more comfortable riding position and the Pirelli P-Zero Velo 4S tyres provided me a whole lot better performance than any of my previous tyres in terms of comfort over rough roads and in terms of rolling resistance too. This way a 206 mile ride can definitely be doable and enjoyable even on English roads haha.
@@mateagoston8145 you're doing really great effort! Benefits definitely overweight the risks. I wish all the best in your enjoyed activity. And, sorry for suggestion, but consider recording your journeys and share on UA-cam. Why not? I believe, many people would love it🙂
Many years ago myself and my friends were coming back from peterborough and going there we took the direct route via Newark on Trent and on the way back the slow route through spalding and boston and sleaford and then back to Lincoln across the fens.
Me and my mum are considering visiting Spalding and maybe other parts of Lincolnshire and then if we like it, sell up and move there Would you recommend it? I mean it can't be any worse than where we are at the moment
It's hard to tell something about Spalding. I'm personally from Peterborough. But before moving I would check all available info about this place. Spalding is nice and cosy, but what about job opportunities, crime rate, schools, transport, and so on? I don't know... 🙂
Spalding supposedly is the most depressing place in the UK , well coming from east London i can tell you that Spalding for all its faults and rapidly changing community is Still paradise compared to a big city.

Only 4 pubs left now, The Ivygate, The Punchbowl, The Red Lion and the one near the bridge, unless anyone knows better

Thank you for sharing your view! To me, it's quite nice small town, good place for peaceful life :)
Looking rundown these days, shame as it was a nice town to grow up in the 80s.
Thank you for watching.. Same opinion exists about many other towns...
