Overall, there are 11 types of verbs: action verbs, stative verbs, transitive verbs, intransitive verbs, linking verbs, helping verbs (also called auxiliary verbs), modal verbs, regular verbs, irregular verbs, phrasal verbs, and infinitives. Different types of verbs don't behave the same way in sentences. When using proper grammar, it is important that we use verbs correctly. @@wesleyg3088 No, it is not the same. Finite verbs are verbs that show tense. Non-finite verb forms do not show tense. Typically they are infinitive forms with and without to, participles and gerunds.

May I suggest another angle to This? In addition understand Simple and Compound verbs. The importance of roots of verbs; finite verbs as the form the.basis of the condition ot status of the action. Verbs = time + action: thus importance of how participle are formed, indicating the.condition of the action: progressive or completed as in known tenses. Have the condition of.the action when did it happen TIME = TENSE =HELP = IS ARE WILL SHALL HAS HAVE etc. Compound verbs = helping verbs + auxiliary (helping verb) + participle (condition or status of action = continuous or completed ( perfect). In a nutshell.

You said that" is" the verb but it's not verb.
Sleepy is the verb. And" is" the helping verb
