I've played a lot of famicom/nes games back in the late 80's.. but i never heard of this game. Cool.. never knew there's a lot of Japanese games which was brought to the west.
I came to know about this game because of the mario hacks on it's sequel game (This one is called Kaiketsu Yanchamaru in japanese, the third game has a mario hack)
A good amount of the games that came out in the US during the NES' early days were also based on anime in their Japanese releases but retooled when brought to the west, except for a few instances. (Dragon Power, Chubby Cherub, etc.)
