I feel everyone forgets/ignores medieval Europe having firearm technology by the 14th century (1300s) with early cannons and stuff. If you're walking up to a guard with some level of platemail (like a full breastplate), he's seen a early firearm and knows what shrapnel is.
Really? I feel like it's ALWAYS talked about and covered. Even though it goes further back in Asia.
That and its a gun, not a phaser. You're gonna run out of ammo pretty quickly

@@sc1338 Constant war really helped on that front. Europe had zero chill from like the fall of the Roman Empire until practically after WW2 and even then we had the cold war that kept the embers warm.

The very first "long peace", breaking our current peace period since WW2 by quite a decent margin, actually happened after the Napoleonic wars lasting all the way up until WW1.

Do just saying. The Chinese had gunpowder and very rough "guns" as early as the 1100's. Europe had weird guns/cannons in the 1300's and 1600's. They would definitely know what you have after a few dead people even if they didn't know how it worked.

His accent is a combined NZ/Aussie accent. I'm a Kiwi and most of us can tell what region another kiwi is from based on regional accents. For instance any kiwi hearing me roll my R's in words like Work or Church would know I'm from the bottom of the South Island. IH doesn't have a regional accent but some words he does say with a kiwi accent while most of it is what I recognize as a toned down Aussie accent.
His accent is 90% Australian. It's only on some words that he pronounces it more kiwi. I'm Australian myself and I didn't even know he was born in NZ until recently. I just assumed he was born and bred in Australia

Ramen in that of itself is not soup, it is noodles, but when served in a broth it is soup. Saying that it isn't is like saying "chicken noodle soup isn't a soup, It's noodles". It's all dependant on how it is served. I usually serve mine without broth, but ramen soup is a soup. Just sayin

On the topic of the card to make the bike sound "cool" in the uk when i was young we used to get these drinks called kwenchy kups, we drank them crushed them and put them in the wheel arch of the back wheel and it would make a loud "motorbike" noise, you could do it with cans too.

Vegas is awesome. Internet Historian should totally go to Vegas for a holiday/video-making opportunity. I lived 2 hours from Vegas for almost 5 years, and only made it there a handful of times, most of the time to the airport, but I spent a magical 40th birthday weekend there. Was an utterly excellent time.

So here's how I would do it assuming that I'm in Europe far before the invention of the firearm so I would take the pistol that I had and dress as some form of holy figure telling the guard that I had an item given to me by God to kill anybody in a position that they didn't deserve, basically I was sent to smite people and of course at this time. It's Old testament God so that isn't a stretch. I then demonstrate with safety on me pulling the trigger and then ask the guard to bring me a criminal , where i would turn the safety off ask God then boom smite , so now the towns people believe i am a divine authority, from there gathering a following and taking the king out via proving him unfit would be the best strategy

I don’t think they understand that any extremely sophisticated technology is in distinguishable from magic just like any technology that is millennia advanced from our own would seem like magic (for example if we was to see a time traveler flying we’d say “holy shit it’s magic” not omg he’s using the sophisticated technology in his boots to reverse the pull of gravity)
I know it seems like these people don't care, but often they literally do not have the opportunity to just throw things in the garbage - let alone recycle!
You have to remember that these communities are very poor and their governments don't give them Waste Management Services to actually take their trash away.
We have the luxury of expecting the garbage man to come at least once a week to pick up out trash and recycling. These extremely poor communities don't even _have_ garbage men, even though they ask their governments repeatedly for these basic services -- requests which are largely ignored.
They are left to rot because they are poor and not worth the time or the effort according to the people who are *_supposed_* to be taking care of them.
Since waste is a natural product of life, and everyone deserves to live, if there's a place to leave the trash then you just have to make do.

3rd world countries are so polluted with trash all over the place largely because of western recycling. Recycling in western countries (particularly America) is super inefficient. Up until recently, all of America’s recycled trash was just sent off to China to let them deal with it, but recently China decided to stop receiving western trash, so American looked to 3rd world countries like Ethiopia and the Philippines to revive their recycled trash, but these countries don’t have good recycling systems so the trash largely just ends up in the streets of villages, rivers, and land fills
