How do you feel now that you know the truth about the ice cream machines?
Just to let you know mr. Historian man. Don't ever eat ice cream out of a machine from McDonald's or any fast food place. Only eat if it's already been packaged the chances are you're eating stuff that just gets in there for no reason period and no amount of cleaning makes a difference. They might as well not even have the damn machines.

Maybe kinda. The problem is that pretty much all people of colour were just referred to as moors. Merchants from the east and north africa will have made it to central european major cities, not the area that the game is set in and obv will have been known to the french as the franks repelled the moorish jihad centuries prior but whether that means black people or not is not easy to work out.
Pretty sure the first 'slaves' taken by the portuguese were brought to the king as a curiosity so its possible that what we'd call black people werent widely known about in mainland europe.
There would most likely still have been a few black people, particularly in cities. If you just go to a random village, sure there probably won't be any but I imagine you could most likely be able find a handful of African travelling traders and mercenaries and so on. I doubt that most people wouldn't know of the existence of darker skinned people.
I think American seem to have a hard time with that concept. Not every country in the world is as diverse as the US, especially in medieval times.
Also, you KNOW the Euros would do some cringey shit, like bugging them about the Kingdom of Prester John or touching their hair...because rare.
For example, when my mom (white lady with dyed blonde hair) went to India with her family (gramps was with Exxon transition team for Indira Ghandi’s oil nationalization) she had some women and kids touch her hair and skin...because rare.

About the Kingdom Come game, it was set in Medieval Europe. So while they might have had a few black people living in Europe back then, i doubt any of them were knights (or had freedom)...

Why...would there be black people in a game set in 15th century Bohemia...the 1400s were a pretty homogenized time my dude. You didn't get many people making the huge journeys necessary for intermixing like that. Statistically, your average person regardless of where they were would probably never see someone of a drastically different skin tone unless you were in a MAJOR trade hub where merchants from all around the world came to peddle their wares.

It is a video game that collaborated with historians who specialize in the area at that time. The population of black people in that area at that time was like less than 1% so yeah there’s no black people. I don’t understand why people have this dumb opinion. I don’t disagree that black people aren’t represented properly in history but this video game company literally did nothing wrong.

Being a literature and story junkie, yes, yes this is accurate. I hear this from my family all the time and i keep thinking to myself, is this what your concerned about? race and skin color? RACE AND SKIN COLOR!!!!!??? For the love of God, if ya are so bent out of shape for the "representation" in stories and films then you are not of literary culture at all (not even a little). their are so many African myth stories that they made a book on them, and its not like you can hire a story writer to write a story idea you have for you. people it only takes a idea and little bit of research and desire to move on with the project to at least get it started. (Goodness, I went on a tangent there, to many people of my race even family have said this to many times, and it gets pain inducing after the hundredth complaint of "no representation". like, people its just a story, leave it alone).

24:20 to be fair its a VERY realistic depiction of 15th century bohemia. Like a proper attempt at historical accuracy. I would not have been opposed to a well integrated and explained black person but it would have to actually be explained and explored. The main character can't even read and there is a whole quest devoted to just learning that skill. A black person would probably warrant a whole quest.
But why would there be a black person in Bohemia in the 15th century? It's still rare to see a black person in central europe these days let alone at that time

I know that black people existed in some parts of europe during the late medieval age but bohemia would probably be pushing it. The reason why I wouldn't have opposed some creative license here is because I think it would of been a very interesting concept to explore. A better place for something like that, and something im hoping for in KCD 2 is some interesting merchants or travelers in prague. Maybe some turks or north africans. This would still be strange but I think its worth it.

Just because no black people were shown in a game version of medieval Austria doesn't mean people didn't know about them, it just means they very rarely traveled there. Similarly to how the Han knew about the Romans, even though there had only been a handful of Romans who actually reached China
Kingdom Come takes place in medieval Poland, they’re very much wouldn’t be black people in Poland at that time.

Referring to Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Its obvious as to why there would be no black people in a medieval era european setting. For the same reason as to why a hypothetical game set in tribal africa before European empires started meddling in their affairs shouldnt really feature any white people. Just wouldnt make sense for the setting.

Lol the kingdom game they mentioned was actually a remaster and remake of the original one which was extremely popular for a few reasons. Including customization freedom and it's remake which added a lot of the things they couldn't do before did very well lol and no not in "just japan" people wanted the game for more then just nostalgia

Its not true though... The ice cream machines are manufactured by a company that has a monopoly in servicing them. No one is allowed to know how to fix the machines except for their technicians, who charge hundreds an hour to do "maintenance". Theres a great video on it called "real reason mcdonalds ice cream machines are broken" by Johnny Harris

Its based on the tabletop rpg game "Warewolf: The Apocalypse" (warewolf being the game, and the Apocalypse being iirc modern day setting.
I guess they couldve just called it Earthblood. But then it would be harder for already established fans to find it or even know its a world of darkness (name of the universe, containing games such as Vampire the masquerade, warewolf, mage, etc) game.
I remember back in high school, we'd pack all the textbooks into a bag and swing it at each other from a tree branch.

McDonalds rents their ice cream machine from a third party, in which they sign a contract that only the third-party mechanic can fix the machine. The third party is then understaffed, leading to the machine being broken for long periods of time.

On the topic of ice cream machine, I've been trying to get ice cream from mcdonalds for years now and i personally think every single mcdonalds has me red listed somewhere, like i see other people get ice cream but everytime at EVERY mcdonalds the ice cream machine is always broken or being cleaned.

basically, if there’s something broken, they literally have to get a very VERY specific guy out there to fix it so they’ll be broke for weeks until the bastard can get out there to fix it.... it literally went to court like last year or something.....
They also probably clean it WAAAAAY too early and just don’t want to turn it back on after.

Apparently, the other reason McDonalds ice-cream machines are always broken is because the machine manufacturers (Taylor) makes a ton of money to repair them with proprietary tools and parts (Or rather, open up the machines with a secret-code). The employees are literally not able to fix them. They MUST be repaired by specific technicians. Another company made a special bypass-module so employees could easily repair the machine and TAYLOR were not having it.
