- Join us this week as we share our 24 hours of van life with you at a beautiful campsite and National Park.
Welcome to this weeks film as we share what a random 24 hours can look like while living in a van! We are Michael & Acacia travelling full time across South Africa in our self converted tiny home on wheels. We love showcasing hidden gems and scenic destinations across South Africa and this week is no different! We decided to meet up with some fellow vanlifers along the picturesque Garden Route. We checked in at Ebb & Flow Campsite situated right along the Touws River bank in the Garden Route National Park. Once the hand brake was up we were ready to relax!
We love exploring our surrounding areas, Michael decided to pump up our inflatable double kayak from Aqua Marina to spend the afternoon on the water. This campsite is situated near the start of the Half Collard Kingfisher trail so we opted to paddle up the river for 2km where we found a small pebble beach and thought it would be a safe place to leave the kayaks as we hiked the remaining 2km of the trail. The hike was easily manageable with decking through the forest towards waterfalls. Depending on the recent rain there can be multiple waterfalls! It was a bit chilly to swim so we enjoyed the views then made our way back…. Only to realise our kayaks were no longer there!! The tide came in and washed them away, our friends took one for the team and swam to fetch them!
Ending off the evening with a braai and campfire chats , these are the days we love about life on the road - unexpected epic adventures with like minded travellers. To watch more of our convoy together head to our Cederberg series

To get our bodies moving we did some acro yoga together - this is something we are still learning but find it a fun way to keep flexible and build trust.
Since this campsite offers laundry machines we decided to do 2 loads for R20 each. Sometimes it can be tricky to do laundry so we always make use if there are available.

Love it, South Africa is one of the oldest places on this planet. Old continental craton is on surface. Thank you for this show of... some day I'll travel there and look only under my feet ;). Keep it up!
