For those of you that don't want to open up the inverter to make the modification shown in this video(If Needed), you can also use a 1 foot 12 gauge heavy duty extension cord with a plastic electrical box installed in the middle for the breaker. Thanks for watching! Be sure to share the video link with others.
Alternatively, would a built-in circuit breaker extension cord also work?
Thank you very good video

try something from DELIXI ... when I was visiting my supplier he adviced me delixi as a good quality supplier... I wonder if he has a right...
The most comprehensive review I've seen yet--great job!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for the nice comment.
The testing master complimenting a test, that's heck of a badge of honour.
2021 the year of good vibe UA-cam comments
Hey project farm I love your channel as well and have been seeing you more and more in the solar DIY community and would love to see you videos on what you think about the reliability, and durability of solar, and battery equipment.
We’re gonna test that!
Dang, proper God-tier praise took place here.... I also completely agree and thoroughly admire both of you gents due to the outstanding & incredibly illuminating content you two create! It's served to not only teach me countless useful lessons, but also has saved me untold hours of toiling through the internet's bowels looking for comprehensive insight on something hardware or electrical in nature when finding out one of you had basically already published a UA-cam thesis on exactly the thing I wanted to learn a whole lot about. Thanks a million!
Cutting a piece of wood in your chop saw demo is a real test to this inverter. And see if it maintains pure sine wave voltage output as claimed by it's manufacturer. I'm glad you used inductive loads to test this unit.
How do you know someone does a great job at video reviews? When you know you will probably never buy the unit being reviewed but still watch to the end to see all the data. Good job Mr E!!!!
Glad you like my videos Dave!
Probably to see their setup and get a better understanding.
I consider myself very lucky to have found this channel as I'm starting to learn about DIY solar system. Good stuffs and I have subscribed.
Nice review! I had an Edecoa that was drawing 16 amps on standby lol. Took me forever to figure out why my battery bank was drawing down so fast. It's amazing the learning curve when you actually start a solar project yourself. Keep up the great reviews!
Glad you enjoyed the video! Be sure to share, videos like this are a waste of my time if only a few thousand people watch. Thank you
The mosfets on this inverter are made in Korea. They arr good quality and large. The Edecoa has small off brand mosfets prone to premature failure.
I have the same inverter being reviewd in 24V form factor. I have been runing it straight for 2 years without a problem.
You are my new favourite Florida Man 🤭
An Inverter review couldn't have been done any better... 🔥🔥🔥
Very helpful and wish you the best of luck
Greetings from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
I just bought the 24v version of this inverter mostly becuase of this review. Initial testing with a bench power supply is inline with this video. I still need to do a full load testing when I receive the batteries. Thank you very much for this video!
Great to hear Rodrigo! Like other inverters I have that work well, I never run them at full capacity continuously, I keep the max continuous power just under the rating(2800-2900w). Post again after you test yours.
@@electronicsNmore Absolutely! I ALWAYS de-rate the stuff that I buy from China. I am expecting to mostly run this at 1500/1800w. And my "full load" will be 2400/2500w for 20-40 min.
Bro, I'm one of your follower, im Allan from Philippines... I'm using only ups in my house... can't afford to buy a new one.. hehe.. here in my place is always no electricity... hope someday I can also buy a new one just like... you're video is good help for many people who want to buy a new one... good job bro!!!
Great review, I especially liked the o'scope verification of the actual sine wave output. Too bad you forgot the "ladder drop" test. Maybe Todd will include that when he get one of these in his barn. 😄
LOL. Good one! I don't make enough on my videos to be destroying products costing hundreds of dollars. If YT didnt suppress my channel, and I got at least 50k views per video, then I'd do drop tests. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for a great review. I bought the 1500w of this exact inverter and I agree with everything you said in this review.

Very informative, thanks. One of the issues I’ve always had problems with is an inverter supplying an electric cement/concrete mixer, when the mix ‘slumps’ the additional load doesn’t go down well with all of the inverters I’ve used, I now use a ‘redi -line’ 1600watt rotary inverter which copes fine.
I’d be interested if, in your reviews you would consider testing inverters powering a mixer ‘ doing something’ as just spinning it isn’t a true test.
Good stuff! I always enjoy your videos!
Great to hear Colin! Be sure to share, because YT's algorithm constantly screws me out of views. Thanks
This the first video I am seeing of yours. It’s fantastic.😁 Subbed!
Awesome! Thanks! Be sure to watch my jackery 1500W power station review tomorrow.

Ok I won’t 🌟
Fantastic review. Great detail. Thank you.
Thanks Ted, and you're welcome! Be sure to share.
Thanks for sharing, these appear well made. I'm considering getting the 6000w 24/240v version for my off grid system.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Be sure to check out my other videos and share. Thanks
I bought this one. It seems to be working good going on three years now.
Awesome video, thanks for your efforts!
Thanks for watching James!
Another great detailed review. Thanks 👍

Hello Doug, Great review, the unit seemed to perform quite well. I have always wondered how you gained your knowledge of electronics, I'm self taught, books, channels such as yours, and, other quality channels on the subject. All American Five Radio, Uncle Doug, Restore Old Radios, etc.. Been some long days at work, catching up on some recent videos. Stay well, all the best, C.

Great explanation and detailed review. Ty!

great video! its like a nicer version of my review of this inverter :D
Glad you like it! I'll check out your channel. Thanks for watching
Hi Doug. Thank you for another great review. Liked, Has always All my very best.
Very welcome Bobby! Thanks for your support
Great review as always! Built in soft start is a fantastic feature, makes you wonder why other manufacturers haven't thought of that since it's a common failure point. Thanks for posting!
Glad you liked the video Rolland! Other manufacturers also manufacture "soft start" inverters. Be sure to share, many hours goes into filming & editing videos like this, and YT is fantastic at hiding my content. Thanks for watching
Soft start on the inverter SUUUUCCCCKKSS. It flickers ALL of your loads on the inverter.
There are pros and cons to soft start and some sensitive items may not turn on with soft start or act strange, Something with a control board and boot time could be an issue for example but it would be rare. Soft start is a must for power outage preparedness in running a full size fridge or microwave where the inrush current will trip most inverters. Owning both types is a good idea.
Good clear review. Thanks
Glad you liked it Jim! Be sure to look over my video playlists below for many other videos of interest to you, and most importantly take one minute to share a link to my channel with others on social networking sites. Thanks
I will just add that in case of short circuit, circuit breaker will not save mosfets if internal protection circuit is not built adequately. Reaction time of circuit breaker is way to long to save silicon devices. Otherwise very good review with some solid real life tests.
Excellent review. Is this unit still being used? Just curious of the longevity. This is the inverter out of countless others that seems like the best value so far
Very good review! Seems like a good bang4buck IMO. Funny how all the Chinese units have no problem using a US 15amp recept, unfused, and with full 3Kw + available! Should have found out if the output supply had a real neutral/hot, or a floating neutral. The soft start is great for running one big power tool. That saves it from blowing up or going into protect. What worries me is that if the inverter was powering, say entertainment electronics, lighting etc, then the 5K BTU window shaker kicks on, will it brown out the electronics? I have a 24 volt Reliable brand 3500W unit. It has a soft start, but only activates when the inverter is powered up! I learned that these hi output units really need a huge battery bank to run right. I first tried just 2 12v trolling batteries in series and it shut down trying to start a de-humidifier (just a test). Some time later, purchased 4 6v 310 amp/hr flooded batteries put in series. Now it starts de-humidifer like it's on the grid! I think bus bars should be used to supply power to the switching transformers instead of individual wires. I plan on doing that to my inverter soon. Of course boils down cost savings.
(2) legs create the 120V output. Pretty sure 60V each leg. 110V output is fine under heavy load, but you're right, you need a heavy duty battery bank to keep the DC input voltage from dropping.
Thanks for the 3000W power inverter.
thank you for your presentation. Its give us a good information. congrats.
You are most welcome
I agree with all other compliments, superbly thoughtful and thorough review. Especially helpful for a real novice. I now plan to buy this inverter through your link. However, I am confused, as I want to wire directly into my RV 12V electrical system. In one comment, you said “ In your RV, use the inverter as is, don't ground it.” Also, you connected an AC plug to the inverter with only +/- wires without a ground in your testing. There is only a 2-wire connection for permanent wiring, but a separate ground connection. My confusion is because my present 2000 watt inverter has a 3-wire connection for permanent wiring AND a separate chassis ground connection. How do I safely wire this inverter? Both the permanent 3-wire connection ground AND the chassis ground to the same ground connection? Neither grounded? Doesn’t the direct connection neutral wire to my RV system have to be grounded? I don’t want to burn something up? I found a copy of the instruction online, but they do not explain or help. All comments and suggestions are welcomed. Thank you again for your wonderful reviews.
In the RV, just connect the (+) and (-) inputs. You can ground the metal housing of the inverter if you'd like.
Nice review Sir 👍
Thank you!
Excellent review... 👍👍👍💪💪

Good informational video. I have the same inverter.
Great video!! Thanks for sharing this info. I'm looking at the 5000 watt unit from that same manufacturer that inverts 48v to 110v/120v, do you think all these tests would apply to that model as well?
I would think the quality and same tests would apply, but I cannot be 100% certain. Thanks for watching!
Great info, thanks. I see that this inverter has a grounding post but nothing was mentioned. How would the grounding post be used? If this unit is used in a fixed location (like for emergency use at home), would the unit need to be grounded to earth?
Yes, the solar panel ground wire, and the inverter ground to a ground rod.
1 thing u forgot to test for was to see if there was any disruption in the( sine wave) form under heavy load . Good video still 🤓
I'll place it under load and see if the waveform changes. I'll post back.
@@electronicsNmoreDid you ever?
I've mounted an EDECOA 12/230V 50 Hz some years ago in my van and I am thinking of installing again the same brand in my new one. The only problem I've had with my first one was a slight noise (only noticeable on sensible devices like the TV antenna amplifier) which I believe was backfed into the 12V rail, and the reluctancy to start my ASUS PC's PSU (unless soft-started with the Inverter or tried a second time, presumably before the main filtering caps were completely bled).
I'd really like to see an EDECOA whipped to the test ;)
Is it a modified sine wave? I understand that causes some appliances to hum.
@@darylcheshire1618 It depends on the specific model. During the last 5 years I've bought two of these PURE sine wave inverters and I am pleased to report they've got even better. No humming of course and if you have short and beefy cables they absolutely deliver what they claim. My first one refused to stay on when I plugged my ASUS 180W PSU and I attribute 90% of the fault to that popping PSU: it's not normal to plug to the mains with such a loud popping electricity sound. The out-rush over current protection tripped and I had to resort to soft start to connect it.
The newer one doesn't trip like the old one. I haven't taken measurements but the reassuring behavior was the first one not the latter. Still I am very pleased since the newer it's even got a built in instant power meter (in Amperes).
@@m80116 yeah, nothing to do with inverters but I once had a fancy looking Coolermaster PSU which periodically would fail to turn on and it might turn on a second time. I put up with it for months but noticed it was happening more often. Soon I bought an Antec and was happy ever since. This was years ago.
Thinking of one of these in 24 or 48 volts. I may buy one soon after a bit more of UA-cam videos.
The 12/24/48 should all perform as shown in the video. The only difference is the input voltage.
Very good test🎉

Would you buy this over a 2,200 watt Giandel? Have you tested a Giandel? Great review by the way.
Nice review! I am planning to use an inverter to power a 450W direct drive servo motor, do you think the soft start function will limit the precision?
I don't think so, there may not be that much of a surge using that motor. Thanks for watching! Be sure to look over my video playlists below for many other videos of interest to you, and most importantly take one minute to share a link to my channel with others on social networking sites. Thanks

Thank you for all your videos they are very helpful. I was looking at purchasing a 2000w inverter for my camper based on my maximum load of 1300-1400w. Is there any disadvantages to going bigger, besides cost?I am going to wire all my outlets to it and use an automatic transfer switch.
You're welcome Chace! If you don't intend on using more than 2KW, then don't bother with 3KW. An advantage of 3K would be better surge capacity. Thanks for watching!
My understanding is that some battery power is used to run the inverter itself, this is increased with a bigger inverter. So don’t get a 3000W inverter just to run a laptop and a phone charger for example.
Great job.
Thanks Adam! Be sure to check out my wide range of videos and share. Thank you
Learning new things as a Wanabe off grid Yahoo. Trying to savor batteries for night time or inclement weather so I want battery-less to be an option. I'm aware that I'll need full blast noon time sun on the panals for best performance without batteries.
I want to see you load down the Delta chopsaw while cutting wood for about 10 minutes straight if I can do that and I can do it every day then it’s a good inverter. High frequency transformer style inverters like that can’t really handle too much inductive load.
Are use an outback fx2524 inverter run a chopsaw to Cutwood for my woodstove all winter. It’s never failed me. I can sometimes see that I’m pulling over 6500 W off of the inverter and it still will not quit.
I just bought the 12v version of this inverter mostly because of this review. I need this inverter because I bought a110 v /60hz gas dryer 5.2 cu which has a sensor for the correct frequency since it is gas the electric one don't have the sensor and I shipped it overseas but the volt there is 220/50hz I used a transnormal but the dryer gave me an error (frequency not suffusion). My question is can I use Gophert CPS power supply like the one you are using instead of 12 v battery since I have power at home? and I only need it to transfer the Hertz or what other alternative power should I use?. Thank you very much for this video!
Hi there. The CPS needs to be able to supply enough current. If your gas dryer needs 100W at 120V, then you'll need a 10A power supply unit. Thanks for watching!
Many thanks for your video, interesting... So it doesnt have any fuses on the input side? would you put inline fuses coming from your batteries as well? hope things are good, all the best, kieron
Yes, there are (10) 40A fuses on the DC input side, as shown in the video.
@@electronicsNmore Ok cool :)
It would be much easier if the death Penalty was introduced for sellers who lie about their products. But on a positive note, your testing regime is very useful. Thank you.
Thank you for the review. Been planning to buy one of these for an upcoming project. Will be a 24v or 48v though.
Any videos on recommended inverters?
You're welcome! I would imagine the 24v or 48v input version would test the same.
@@electronicsNmore Sorry, I should have have been more specific. I was asking if you had another brand that you would recommend over this one, based on price, performance, and reliability?
@@anthonypelchat So far, out of the 5 I tested, this one did the best overall.
@@electronicsNmore Perfect. This is the first video that I've seen from you. Will subscribe. I'm planning a ton of battery projects later this year. This brand of inverters is currently the main one on my list for pure sine wave use.
Love your video, I have a ??? Can it charge your battery the same you use that unit
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi, is it possible to connect inverters in either series or parallel to meet a whole house total power requirement as opposed to connecting individual/ group of equipment to individual inverters. I'd really appreciate your response, thanks.
I'm curious if that chopsaw worked under a load of cutting wood or metal tubing. I'm in the process of solar powering my shop. I have several 12v inverters dedicated to powering separate tools of various types. These 12v inverters will be connected to large start lead acid batteries as tool use draw large amounts of current for short periods of time. But I'm also thinking of using a 3000w inverter with a 48v input using my 40v ryobi lithium batteries for use with my large bandsaw. Input voltage range between 36vdc to 50 max. Any thoughts?
P.S. I noticed that your inverter mosfets were cooled with internal heatsinking and not the outer aluminum case like so many others.
What's the amp hour rating of the 4D battery? With a 3000 w inverter, you can't expect much from a 100 ah battery that would die in a matter of minutes, especially using lead acid.
Ive just bought this inverter, and I am glad you said it was ok, now I need to know why its bleeping and the batteries are full. I have connected 2 12v batteries 100 ah each with the wireing in Parrell, and as you know one wire is from positive to negative in the other battery, all connections are thick good quality copper, but the positive to the negative wire connecting both batteries is thinner could this be the problem? I had a modified inverter before and it had the same prob,so sent it back. also the inverter say you should not connect positive to negative, but if not how can one do parell conections?
Parallel wiring is positive to positive & negative to negative maintaining voltage output of batteries but increasing amp hrs. You have described series wiring which will increase voltage adding the batteries voltage together.. which is why you are experiencing issues by putting your devices into over voltage protection. Please be very careful working with any form of electricity. Batteries can be very dangerous!!
*Great testing. I'm in the market for a inverter so I really appreciate this video* DexterousX
Love the truth. Thanx mike Scotland
Thanks for watching Mike!
You mentioned that this unit has a built-in soft-start. I am planning on buying one of these inverters but I already have a Micro-Air soft start for my air conditioning unit on my camper that I have not yet installed. Should I go ahead and install the Micro-Air soft start or would this inverter negate the need for it? Is having 2 soft-starts OK?
Hold onto it, if this unit doesn't have a long enough delay, you may need it. Buy the unit from the Amazon link I provided, if it doesn't do what you want, you can easily return it. Thanks!

hey just wondering for a small 1700 pressure washer or a small 2hp shop vac how powerful of an inverter would I need? Thanks for any input!
Thats a great inverter
Definitely one of the better inverters that I tested. Thanks for watching! Be sure to share.
Have you measured decibels of fan noise under full possible load for this inverter? Prefer to be tested with silent loads, like with heaters with no fans. Mine must be placed inside a one room cabin, so noise matter.
All these inverters seem to use cheap, automotive fuses in parallel on the input, soldered to the PCB. Generally, fuses should not be put in parallel, and soldering them to the board makes it a PITA to replace them, but every inverter I've seen uses this protection scheme.
Yes Peter, it's the same for the great majority. The fuses aren't soldered to the board, you press them into female blade connectors that are soldered to the board. Thanks for watching!
Nice video, Have you tested the Mensela-IT-PS1-Pro-220V-50HZ 7000W? Any good to buy?
Thank you very much for sharing this information. I am looking for a very good 3000 watts pure sine wave inverter, do you have any recommendations?
This unit works well, but if money is not an issue, I can suggest even better units. Thanks for watching!
@@electronicsNmore . Your welcome. What’s the price? I don’t mind paying for something that’s going to do the job because sometimes I use a Jack hammer to do my work and there is no electricity around, I prefer to have at least a 3500 watts pure dine wave inverter. Have a blessed day

Hey man I have a question. I am looking to open a small pop up coffee tent (under a gazebo). I have been searching everywhere for an answer. But I intend on using a coffee machine. (One where I just place a cup underneath and press the button on the screen and it’ll make the required coffee). Is there such a battery or inverter that can buy that can deal with this for say 6/7 hours? The machine will stay on at all times obviously - but won’t be USED as such until a customer wants a coffee. What would you recommend I do in regards to powering this for around 6/7 hours. Thanks for the video btw man, so helpful in my next steps!
Definitely going to need large solar panels connected to keep the battery voltage up.
I already watched and liked. Could you recommend me this one over Cobra 2500? I would appreciate your advice. Thanks.
Because of the soft start, you shouldn't have a problem starting things up, but of course nothing is guaranteed. Good luck
They should’ve installed a 20 amp receptacle instead of a 15 amp receptacle. And actually they need to start installing tamper and weather resistant receptacles on these devices. As much as they cost they should be installing top quality parts and devices.
Thank you for the video. I've been dumbfounded by the ABSOLUTE junk being sold on Amazon, ie 6000w with 900w sustained, what a joke. Anyways, thank you for the effort, this one looks like a keeper. Yes, for heavy loads, a double stack of marine batteries would work.
Glad I could help
Is there a link to this inverter somewhere or the make and model? I’m not seeing one anywhere. Great review BTW!
In the video description area. Glad you liked it.
Hello. i like the test you did. I checked that you connected the battery charger to the battery. I have a Green Cell Transformer 12V / 230V 2000W / 4000W Mod in you.
and I wanted to know. can i use the inverter on the battery all the time if the battery is attached to the charger.
How strong the battery cooler and battery must be. to power this inverter continuously at 1100w
Is it me? What is the Brand and Model of this unit? Very detailed review indeed, I was drawn to this video because you said it can handle 12V, 24V etc and also outputs at 120V or 240V?
Does it charge the battery and can a solar panel be connected to it
Have this same inverter but when checking the plug with tester, keep getting open ground, even with grounding wire connected to chassis. Did you ever check if the ground wiring is correct? Also, does it make a small noise when plugged in? Not the fan, those kick in ok when running close to 3000w.
Many inverters aren't grounded, the ground pin inside most units have no wire connected to them.
goodjob sir
curious about the circuit breaker... can we just use a plug in GFCI circuit breaker or make one our selves instead of opening up the unit... when opening up unit also means we void our warranty. maybe you can video on this (maybe) i dont know...I'm just trying to find a better way. I have no electrical experience.
You can buy a #12 heavy duty power cord(3 prong), cut the middle of the cord and separate the wires. Attach clamps to each end of the plastic box and insert the wires. Next strip 1/2" of the insulation off of each conductor. Then connect both white wires together using yellow wire nuts inside the box, both green wires together, and the black wires go to each side of the breaker installed inside the box. Drill a hole in a blank cover to mount the breaker. Very simple.

Hey Thejourney, 1000w pure sine wave inverters for camping
Maybe I missed it. Did the input steel terminals heat up with a heavy load.
No, they felt about the same temp as the middle to the rear part of the inverter.
wish I had seen this before. I have purchased a 3000/6000w sine wave inverter much like yours and seems to work well but massive rf interference even when hooked up to external battery. you did not test for this any suggestions? Rgds Trevor
Never had any inverter do that.
do the instructions say how to set it for 50 hz instead of 60 hz? I am not in USA but we use USA plugs however we use 50 Hz..
Hi there. The frequency cannot be changed, but the manufacturer can make 50Hz versions.
Hi. Is possible to use pure sine and modified inverter in parallel.
Can you use multiple units for more capacity. 5 units, 15000 watts?
What kind of battery you have looking for one for my 4000 watt inverter.
Question. I've a submersible water pump that I intend to use , Off-grid, for 12 hours every day,. The water pump power rating is 1700w(1.7kw). I also have an array of Solar Panels of 3600w output capacity. I've no need for battery or charge controller, only an Inverter, as I don't need to store energy. I intend to use the power directly on the appliance. What size/capacity of Off-grid Solar Power Inverter do I need to buy. Thank you.
is there anyway, either through the inverter or through another device to adjust the over and under charge and cut-off voltage? For the batteries I have the low-voltage cut off would be pretty hard on them.
What type of battery?
@@electronicsNmore they are powersonic 12v 40ah sealed AGM batteries..... I have them connected in series to make 48volts
I just picked up one of these new for $30, if I blow any fuses inside, how do I discharge the capacitors so I dont die while changing the fuses?
Does it charge batteries when ac voltage comes in ?
No.
Great video! Can you help with.....
I purchased a WZRELB Reliable pure sine 3000 W inverter 12V and it has a live ground 60v, how do I install this unit in my travel trailer????
Actually, it's 60-0-60. Measuring from ground prong to either side is 60V. If installed in a shed, house, garage, etc, then you would connect the ground prong to the aluminum housing, then the aluminum housing to earth ground using a metal rod and clamp. In your RV, use the inverter as is, don't ground it.

Thanks!
Your awesome👍
Don't you have a video about Cobra cpi2500w? Have any experience with it? I am deciding between this one and yours Xijia on this video. The good thing I see on Cobra is 0.2A on standby current. What do you think? Thanks again.
I don't bother with modified sinewave units.
@@electronicsNmore oh! why is that sorry. They are less quality? Much less standby current (I can leave all night) and I can use with a current stabilizer when need a computer...
@@jordiregy390 Everyone is into the sinewave inverters, there not enough interest in the modified sinewave type.
The "high power A/C output" terminals look small and the little plastic cover looks....well, inadequate. Is there even room for securely hooking up a 10/2 wire to the output terminals?
Should be room.
i wanna know if i can plug a 10 amp to 15 amp converter into a 3000 watt inverter plugged into either a 12v or 24 volt battery, will this work ? i wanna power my mains pwer to my caravan to an inverter but its a 15amp socket..
How much ampere do you have three battery 12 volt and what number of group do you have?
Hello sir I have question about DC breaker , can I ask you ?
Do you think this could be used for a sump pump? Does it come on automatically?
All depends on the ratings. If the inrush current is high, it may not start up. Nothing is automatic, you need to turn on the inverter.
I regularly hear people complaining about Chinese made inverters having a short life expectancy, regardless of how impressive they may sound in their reviews. I wish more of the reviews were done after two or three years of use. May I ask if there are any inverters you have known to be reliable two or three years of use?
Does this inverter have floating neutral?
Hi is there a link to your 4D battery? and what is the total kW capacity of that 4D battery? is the math 12v x cold cranking amps or it’s cranking amps?
I bought it locally, stole it practically. Look on offerup. Interstate 4D deep cycle.
@@electronicsNmore thank you..
Sir what is the best car battery that you can recomend for inverter for long life
If the inverter is high power output, nothing less than a 4D or 8D.
