    Would love to see one of these on Shriek Show/Media Blasters; they don't seem to get discussed much by anyone, but they introduced me to a ton of (mostly) zombie movies (Zombie Pack 1 and 2!), including Burial Ground (classic!). They also had probably my favourite release ever for Fulci's ZOMBI 2/ZOMBIE.

      I agree on Media Blasters getting some shine with their Shriek Show/Tokyo Shock lines, they were notable in DVD to me with various Italian horror, Asian and more. I have a good amount of their old releases; Burial Ground, Zombi Holocaust, Zombi 4 to name a few. The cool thing was much like Anchor Bay they would generally include a liner notes booklet in their releases which was always nice.

    Actually, since we're on the topic of *obscure* horror films, I'll take a chance and post this here. For decades now, I've been trying to figure out the name of a made-for-TV movie I saw twice when I was a kid in the 80s: a movie about 2 kids exploring a haunted house that *does* turn out to be haunted. What I remember is: something falling off the roof and almost hitting them as they try to enter, and a fireplace coming to life all of a sudden. Maybe also two ghosts with glowing orange heads. It would've been made between 1970 and 1987 at the least (but I'm leaning towards early 80s). If anybody knows what it is, I'm dying to know.

    • @jeffherrington
      @jeffherrington Місяць тому

      Might be Lucio Fulci 's Sweet House of Horrors? There's two kids in that with the Haunted House and two flames as ghosts in it anyway so kinda similar 🤔

      @@Born2BeRadThat would be great to do a 🦂Releasing one and touch on Ronin Flicks as well not sure if Robin is more so a distributor as they seemed to be tied in with Code Red, Scorpion, and Kino.

    I think Ronin Flix released that Savage Streets one UB mentioned, and some other Code Red titles like One Dark Night & Until Dawn in the cartoony slipcover (no barcode either). I think my first Code Red DVD was that Ghostkeeper, which I do like. Bill was difficult to deal with, but I think I have around 15 CR titles. He did put out some interesting stuff.

    Forget "Final Destination 2"! "Butcher Baker" was the movie that made me wary of driving behind trucks hauling logs. Probably saw it when I was 7 or 8 and that scene (and only that one) stayed with me ever since. Took me years to figure out where I had seen that.

    Will never forget when Bill Olsen referred to younger genre fans as "nut sack tadpoles" on the bluray forums. 😂😂 He released a lot of Italian classics. Buying could be frustrating, but was worth it. I prefer one man's ire instead of a company's distain. Looking at you Severin.

    Great job. I actually like The Strangeness. It's a fairly slow movie in the first half, but I like the atmosphere. The score is John Carpenter-like, and the film is about a group of folks entering a mine to find gold...and you have a fun stop motion monster stalking them one by one. Again, some will find it boring but I actually have that on Blu-Ray and liked it.
    I've seen Choke Canyon...not a big fan of it. Plus the lead actor has who was in 7th Heaven and Star Trek The Motion Picture has...done things...like Jeffrey Jones...so a bit hard to watch.
    Love Rituals, I have the Blu-ray from Scorpion Releasing.
    Really enjoy Shakma.
