This is actually the best apple watch size comparisson I have seen (Even including written content). I really like how you concentrate on added value and real-life usage. Keep up the awesome work!
I was not sure which size to get for months. I had not really got the chance to try both sizes in person and since I never have owned an apple watch it was difficult. I really wanted one since I found a good deal on them, so I chose the 40mm one, despite almost 90% of the people chosing a 44mm. After that and watching multiple youtube video about the watch I finally found yours where I can finally justify my purchase for the exact same arguments. Thanks for the video and keep up the good work!
Completely agree. No regrets over the 40mm because I chose it objectively / it suits my needs better than the bigger one. Glad you found the video useful and thanks for the kind words!
Member of the 160 mm club right here! Finally someone talking about the actual day-to-day wearing. Many ppl I guess have not worn a watch for a while but want to wear a smart one. And then they realise just how big these things are... Your point about data density is spot on. Not more data but just bigger data. Mainly an eyesight thing...
I never thought a UA-cam review on Apple Watch sizes would be so thorough, or that interesting, but this video really goes into so much detail and it's very well presented, if you're undecided, this video is the one to watch in order to make you're own decision. Brilliant job, Safwaan!
I was so indecisive of which watch size to get, until I found this video. Even though this video was made for series 6 apple watches, it still applies to the newer series 7 (41mm / 45mm). Personally I have gone to apple store twice already just to justify which size I should choose, I did try both sizes and, based on your conclusion, you may be leaning towards the bigger size (just because the him and hers stigma) but that only depends of how you plan to use your apple watch. I have a 150mm wrist, and I will be purchasing my first watch to be used on my daily routine. People says, the bigger the better, but your conclusion was spot on, lightweight and comfortable outweighs bigger, bulky and heavier apple watch. I think i'll be getting the 41mm which is 1mm larger than the previous version only because of how I am planning to use my apple watch on the daily basis. I mean, realistically you will not be watching videos out from you watch either way so bigger doesn't always means better.
Exactly the video I needed. I bought 40mm yesterday without even really trying on an Apple Watch. 160mm wrists and yeah, I feel so much validated I had similar feelings buying the watch.
Such a great video! I just bought my 40mm and I have not to open it yet because I wasn't sure about the size. I run every day and want to stay active so now that I watched your video I think I made the right decision.
Yes bro!! Glad to hear it. If you haven’t already, I really recommend the Nike Running Club app. On Apple Watch, you get to measure all kinds of stats like how your heart rate / elevation changes over the course of your run.
This is a very helpful video. Thanks for the information. I think I will go with the 40mm though my brain keeps fighting for me to get the 44mm because it is still convinced that bigger=better.
I really hate the thickness/bulkiness of the Apple watch (or smartwatches in general)! This is why I never bought one although I like the idea. Just as you I'm looking forward to the day smartwatches will be (finally) as thin as normal watches...
I didn’t buy the Series 1 or 2 for exactly the same reasons. Look how far the iPhone has come from the original. Some day Apple Watch will be super thin / unnoticeable 🙏🏽
Man, thank you for your super and SHORT review. I have bought 40mm and was very sad because it seems so small for a first time. But after your video I realized that it’s just a clock and it should be comfortable because you gonna wear it everyday. 🙏🏼
Thanks so much for this review. It is extremely informative and doesn’t waste time. You have explained the pros and cons without being to complex and have helped me make up my mind.
Funny how a Video can justify our purchases. 😂 I’m currently waiting for my 40mm version to arrive and was a little bit worried. But I felt fine after watching your Video. Thank you
Really really helpful! I was always confused as to which size I should choose, because we don't really have the option to try them on in person. So I was always guessing and speculating. My wrists are too thin (150) and based on apple's suggestion the 44 should fit me, but realistically I now know that the 40 is better for me (or the new 41 for that matter).
@@RohitDwivediposts bro the trick is to buy 40mm and buy a case for it. it looks perfect not too big and too small. also you save some money plus you get protection too.
I made the same mistake a couple years ago when I bought the series 1 Apple Watch. I bought 42mm when I should have gotten a 38mm. Since I’ve become crazy about watches mostly automatics and mechanicals I realized my size is under 40mm for watches.
2:28 "I don't know if you can see that very well" After going to Apple store and only being able to try on the new 41/45, I've been searching online for a proper visual of the older 40/44. So many videos.. Your one shot did it for me! I am getting an apple watch for functional tech, not the bulky look people seem to rock
@@T94869 i was thinking the 40mm would be more up my alley, but I found a really good deal on a used 44mm. Once I got it I think 40mm would be much harder to use in terms of functionality, and the 44 isn’t too large or bulky (even for average to smaller sized wrist)
im not a fan of massive watches. found a good price on a 2nd hand 44 but after seeing it on your wrist (comparable to mine, maybe a little smaller) it looks massive. Glad i watched this, will try and find a 40mm now
Hey I just really wanna appreciate the quality of your video which is fabulous and the way of you explaining everything is amazing keep growing and yeah..... You just gained a new subscriber
Thank you so much for this! Covered exactly what I wanted to know. Like you, I'm buying second hand, so there isn't much of a difference in price (about £35 currently difference in CEX) and I'm also not interested in the bands that Apple has specifically for 44mm or 40mm, as I've got some I want on Amazon that come in both sizes anyway. I just wanted to know if I would see as much info on the smaller 40mm screen like the 44mm (which you covered) and the difference in the feel and bulkiness. Thank you!
I love your video (gave a thumbs up) - great review (decided on a 40mm based on this) - but I feel like I should comment on one little thing - the music mix is too loud. In some sections I could not hear what you said over the music - even after several views. I hope that's helpful.
If the screen is not in use, then the higher capacity battery should provide longer battery life. Seems odd to make a blanket statement that the battery life is exactly the same if the only variable is screen size (as opposed to beefier processor).
Hey. From my experiences using both sizes, I didn’t notice any significant battery life differences. They got me through the day very comfortably, then I’d put them on charge overnight. Apple state both will last up to 18 hours, and that “battery life varies by use, cellular coverage, configuration, and many other factors; actual results will vary.”
Looking to get something not too expensive for my girls. Brilliant comparison video - very helpful for helping me settle on smaller one. Thanks Safwaan.
Excellent review. Built like a middle-aged quarterback, I am considering going from a large Series 3 (38mm or 42mm) to the regular Series 7 (41mm or 45mm). I do a lot of swimming (up to 3 miles per workout) and don’t want one more thing to slow me down or get in the way. I currently use a Spigen Rugged Armor protection case which is superb-definitely worth the added bulk.
So the series 6 is my first Apple Watch and I accidentally bought the 40mm and later I realized that it was better for me . Since I work in tough conditions I have a case over it and it isn’t too bulky . My buddy has the 44mm and has a similar case to mine and he said he hates it because it’s just too bulky for him he can’t reach into his pockets without it getting snagged all the time and when he wears flannels he can’t button his left sleeve lol
great video!!! thank you so much, I've been using the 40mms and I love it, but I'm going to change to series 7 and I didn't know what size to get. Now I know! 41mm 🎉
Got the series 4 40mm SS space black, I can probably pull off a 44 but I wish it was thinner(fits under sleeve cuff). I’ll wait for what the series 7 has to offer.
