People are alway's shocked when they find out that I, a 22 (M), am still a virgin and am waiting until marriage. It's not even a religious thing, I was born out of wedlock and have experienced first hand the consequences of the other side of the coin. Body count means a lot to me because it does tell a lot about one's character. On the flipside however, being in my situation has made it extremely difficult to find someone because I hold myself to these standards and am not "experienced" and I'm too traditional. Hopefully something will change and I will get a chance at love. Until then I won't settle for the new normal "She's not yours, it's just your turn."

I feel you my guy. I'm also 25 yo virgin (but Christian) and literally just got off the phone with a girl who told me she was and believed in god but just wanted to sleep with me. Thank the lord she was very forward and apparently sent me Explicit photos that i never got, and i stopped her and asked what her values were. Then just sent her a text reminding her nicely that she is worth so much more than that and should be much more selective, and that she was very beautiful. Its that bad out here!
Keep going strong king. I turned 30 three days ago, and I'm still a virgin, and by choice. I've had lots of opportunities, but I turned them down. Not worth the risk, the complications, or the damage. Both in my religious and my secular opinion, it's worth waiting for lifelong commitment. I work as a school bus driver. I overheard one of my middle schoolers talking about a 3 way she had to one of her friends. She's barely a teenager and already sleeping with multiple people at a time. I don’t know where this idea that gen z is having more sex comes from. Possibly because they are all talking about it on social media? Any research I can find shows that gen z and millennials are having less sex than previous generations. It’s actually not a good thing because they are more socially isolated and spend more time on the internet.

i am a 19 year old woman who hasn’t done anything with anyone. not because i have a specific personal agenda, but because i have never met the right person - or to put it into other words - i have standards.

I was upset growing up and still being a virgin, not because I was teased for it, not sure why I wasn't, but because I just didn't want to be; I never got a body count though, and eventually saw several examples that made me change my way of thinking, like the hurt from family for simply getting in a serious relationship to see it end, or classmates who are forced to drop out on account of getting another student pregnant...

I'm 20 and never have had a relationship or sex. It it impossible to find a woman these days that share my values and I have realized marriage is a fantasy I likely will never get to enjoy. This is so sad and scary. But not surprising because our society/public school system is grooming them at a very young age. It makes me so mad and disgusted. Just think about the clothes we have little girls now. Bikinis, dresses and skirts that look like they were made for a college girls, skin tight clothes.
What’s even sadder is the STD count among girls 14 and younger. And what’s really scary is HIV is making a come back especially because people A) use absolutely zero protection or testing and B) just shrug it off as “well now it’s treatable”.

One can assume easily that it was still high during being a minor because the idea of a woman getting a high body count in a year is rare.

I’m in my early 20s and just got married a few months ago, my husband and I were each others first ( and only). My old friends are astonished that I’ve “ already settled” and I’ve even had them ask why I didn’t want to enjoy my 20s and sleep around more. I am 21, female, and a virgin waiting until marriage. My mom and I were trying new shows on Netflix the other day and a super casual, pornographic sex scene popped on with no warning whatsoever. It was a filthy scene that neither of us wished to see, so I fast-forwarded it without thinking twice. Filth like that is just casually thrown into shows and movies, completely normalizing casual hook-ups. I told my mom how grateful Netflix has made me that I am not a participant in hook-up culture because the whole premise of it feels violating, dirty, depressing, and unfulfilling.

I don’t know where you stand when it comes to worldview now that you are free from that lifestyle, but I like to encourage those looking to be made new to find hope and joy and freedom from that daunting guilt in Christ, who recognizes your mistakes and loves you anyway. He cares about you enough to take the eternal consequences of your sin on himself. He’s willing to love you despite your flaws, and he is just waiting to lay a life of fulfillment and purpose ahead of you if you let him. There is no reason to feel any shame once you let your identity move away from what you have done and toward what God had done for you.

I'm a 26-year-old woman who grew up in a very liberal household and society. Despite going on a few dates, I've chosen to abstain from physical intimacy until marriage, as it holds deep significance for me. Finding someone in Western Europe who respects this decision has been challenging.
My family and 'friends' often view me as odd, and there are moments when I'm tempted to conform to societal norms. However, I know I'd regret compromising my values. While there was a time I felt ashamed for being a virgin and not having many boyfriends, I've since gained confidence and self-respect.
It’s just saddens me to see teenagers influenced by the 'woke' agenda without strong self-awareness or family support. Because I know that it could lead to a difficult situation pretty quickly.
I don't know if I'm wrong but I noticed that young people in Europe in general are way more progressive than young people in the US, since the concept of religion and purity is pretty much non-existent in a European lifestyle. I as a virgin Christian guy, was planning to find someone in West Europe, but virgins or virginity in Europe is even more rare than it is in the US, due to religious and conservative upbringing.

If you're waiting till marriage and you're looking for a woman who isn't just looking to use you without her having to put out, and you live in the west....I'm not saying they don't exist. I think those numbers are wrong. My friend in her late 30s, never married, said she is approaching 50 partners. She has had only a handful of serious relationships. Lots of online dating where she thought in order to have the possibility of more dates you had to give it up, especially in the younger years. This sounds so surreal to me. I personally need a deep emotional connection with my partner and cannot imagine sleeping with 19 people before settling down. I am in my mid-twenties, getting married soon. I have bc of 2 and I still wish it was just one. I am my partner’s first love and getting to know each other and explore everything with the love of your live has been so amazing. You don’t compare, judge or have trouble connecting because you only associate intimacy with love, deep emotional connection and safety. Hook-ups just destroy that in my opinion.

I feel many surveys have a biased or incomplete sampling rather then being manipulated. But sometimes, I ask myself who I am saving myself for.
Most people I know that engage in this behaviour do it because they’re looking for a serious relationship but are unable to get someone to commit to them but they still want to feel “loved” every once in a while. When it’s been years since since someone has shown you some attention or affection and if you haven’t been touched by anyone for a really long time, people sometimes think that it’s better to at least have something casual rather than nothing at all.
Hooking up with someone hoping for commitment will never work, cause if sex is all they offer then sex is all they want from them.

I was SA by a childhood friend, and I’ve understand that she was just replaying her trauma out. We both ended up hypersexualized and now I am mortified thinking about it. Exactly. I've never had a boyfriend and began almost obsessing over having one when all my friends started dating in middle school. I recently realized that the reason I felt so empty was because I wasn't fully embracing my relationship with God.
