Molly makes such a nice friend - I still remember listening in the podcast how she didn't really enjoy putting herself out "in the public", I'm happy that she's here for this lovely video
That’s me at 28:02 ! I remember when my mate and I were in Cambridge and met you, Molly was with you and we all had some food together. She was genuinely the nicest, most sincere person - so glad she’s on the channel :)
Sorry I couldn’t remember both your names! Glad you could be there for my iPhone buying experience 😂. It was a fun meal. Hope you’re both doing well :)
Ali: "Molly is in a happy relationship or So sHe SaYs " lmaooo Ali is just silently waiting to make a move .... Don’t hate me Ali 😂 thanks for inspiring me to start a channel:)
Wow loved this q&a with Molly. What was surprising to me was when molly spoke about self doubt. She’s a Cambridge graduate who is a doctor. Already killing the game. It’s crazy for me to think someone so clever and accomplished I could feel so related to
Just wanna say it is so refreshing to hear Ali say he had a trouble free childhood and can’t relate to molly in terms of her struggles. As someone who had a pretty difficult childhood, i really appreciate it when other people who haven’t had that can just listen and be honest about their own lives without trying to say they know what it would feel like ect ♥️
Low maintenance relationships are just the best for me tho. My closest friends are all like this and once we met up for dinner in like once a year, the bond is still there and we have a lot of things to talk about.
SJ Yeah... We work in different countries around Southeast Asia but we came from the same city which is Borneo. Low maintenance friendships, we don’t have to update on each other’s lives until we decided to come home for either Christmas or Harvest season (midyear festivities)
Love the positivity of this guy. I really hope it's genuine, and that there are more people like him out there in the world. It feeds my starving faith in humanity.
Wow. What an inspiration Molly is. To miss pretty much the whole of secondary school and to still go on and study medicine at Cambridge and pursue her dreams. What a lovely, strong, intelligent girl.
Thank you for your candid description of your incredibly challenging childhood, Molly. I don't know why I watched this whole thing... just a Q&A about two people sharing a flat, and really nothing to do with the usual "inspirational" angle of Ali's insanely productive work ethic. But I enjoyed it immensely. btw "Colours of the wind" ftw.
Molly is so great! I do think lots of the conversations they were having about self-doubt etc really highlight the difference in the way men and women are socialised. Ali never considers that he might be 'less-than', whereas Molly has to continually prove to herself that she's good enough. It's a pattern that I've noticed a lot in my own life/at medical school - interesting to see it presented in such a stark way!
The discussion was so interesting. Thank you Ali. Molly is such a great person. I like how she describs her thoughts. I found lot of things in commun. I wish her great luck in her career and personal life
you guys are so great, it makes me think of my best friend and the plans we made to live together after we graduate, but now all is waiting because of corona , and watching you 2 makes me miss him even more. And yeah Ali , i'm interested :)
If anyone is interested, I’ve just started a channel! I’m a medical student and if you’re watching this you might find some value in my recent videos x
Hey Ali, this was a really good video you know, watching your interaction with Molly was really amazing. For me the last part was the best because you both realized that you really enjoyed the conversation, it was great
Very interesting interview, Ali. Mollie has used her difficulties to grow into a charming, balanced, interesting and thoughtful person. Great to see how she has transitioned and appreciate how those around her influenced her growth. Loving your videos, interesting and informative.
Just fantastic on many levels. Thank you both and we love Molly!!! So warm, articulate, very moving stories, wonderfully shared, and lovely moments. Thanks so much for posting.
You guys are very nice person. Molly got a lot of courage and nothing can tell in her attitude what she has been through. Keep caring for each other. Even though you are not dating, you are a very nice and inspiring pair.
Love molly, I’m doing nursing now aiming to get into med afterwards (in Australia we have to do an undergrad first) and also spent loads of time in hospital as a kid. Really inspiring to see she made it! I’m sure it helps to have an understanding of the patient’s experience.
Ali thank you for bringing in Molly. And seeing someone share their story of how they became a doctor is very inspirational. As I had also sadly went through something similar in my past, and although this is slightly off course. But I also appreciated that you shared the book of The Unfair Advantage, which enabled me to realise my own unfair advantage.
That hair flick Simba transition made me have a crush too 😂 there’s something about that that makes your child self like a lion for more that what it is 😝
Ali made sure to probe Molly about her childhood challenge but in a way that the outcome of it was very forward-looking and uplifting and not patronizing, that was really well-done and powerful!
It's weird when you put a camera in front of you, you share and speak out way more than intended. It was really some kind of personal touch when MOLLY spoke about her disabilities and challenges. This kind of conversation should happen more. People get to know each other well than would have done in some other situation. 🙏🙏💛
