@@AariLyle horrible… lol.. but at my water park we did it through Ellis and Associates, so it just depends and it depends if the COVID restrictions are lifted and the class becomes 3 classes again
this was so intersting! I’m a lifeguard in England and out outfits are so bad, also we don’t really have any outdoor pools. we also stay on poolside for 1 hour at a time, then have like 30 mins cleaning and stuff.
Question say your a lifeguard and your on pool for 1 hour what is adequate time to refresh yourself fill your water bottle up with out doing any set ups or cleaning? before going back on pool. Is 10min to little to refocus?
@@rjs6663 I would say it depends on the pool. The pool I work at gets super hot around poolside, meaning anymore than an hour on is super uncomfortable! I would say 20 mins off is a good time if its hot! If not maybe like 15 mins. It also depends how long your shift is, if you are doing that routine for more than 6 hours, your concentration goes!

Hey I know im super late but have ypu thought about a Fox 40 whistle which most guards use. Hope you can buy one they are awesome and I own like 5 of them and I now own a yellow Classic. Definitely toss the metal for a louder whistle.
As a blonde, do you have to worry about your hair turning green? I was offered a job as a life guard, if I pass the swim test and the 6 week course. I love gettinf my hair done, blonde, but I hear it can turn green and become really brittle. Do you get in the water alot?
I personally do, mostly to cool off but you don’t have to! My hair isn’t super blonde but the parts that are don’t turn green since i was my hair right after. I would talk to your hair stylist, they will likely be able to help you out more than me :)
it all depends on where you live! for me i went on red cross’s website and was able to see where i could take the class near where i lived so i then signed up at the ymca near me. hope this helps!
Hxssan04 Just make sure you are paying attention in the lifeguard certification class and while you are guarding! It’s a super fun job, just make sure you are watching the pool and not getting too distracted! bring water and something to do on break and just be smart and have some fun with it! Good luck!
hey so i see the name of the pool just saying might wanna tape a piece of paper over is when you’re filming or blur it out btw love the video!!! (don’t worry i’m not going to come to the pool and murder you lol ok that was a little dark i’m only 12 lol and ur like really pretty!)
Hi Allison, my name is William, I’m a youtuber like you, I was thinking about becoming life guard this summer after I ended up quitting my junior firefighting job in Elkridge Maryland after 6 years with my team, but Covid ruined my opportunity to become a lifeguard this year, Is there any specific training I would need to go through to become a lifeguard in the future?
I think one of my friends named Logan is a lifeguard at two different pools where I live in Maryland in Howard County, I’m seeing him next Saturday, I think I might ask him what training I might need
I recently got hired as a lifeguard I did my training though stargaurd elite aka the most intense training apparently we are above American Red Cross and Ellis
so our rotations are always 15 mintues because we always have enough guards on duty to make that happen! with the amount of chairs we have and the number of guards on duty we are able to do 15 minutes every shift :)
@@musicislife7464 so depending on how busy it is we have between 2 and 4 stands up but it is usually 3 stands. if it's 3 stands we have 5 life guards and we do 30 min up, 15 down, 15 up, 15 down, and then repeat. its 30 min up because of the location of the chairs and then we have an adult swim so sometimes its only 15 up every time it really depends. @@AlisonMcNamara I think I understand lol..? It’s ok .. I was just wondering what other pools do . Haha . So do you go stand to stand for 15 min which would equal 30? Hi, are you still working as a lifeguard? Do you like this job? If you are no longer a lifeguard, what do you do now? Just curious.

I would recommend taking a Red Cross certification course! It does depend on where you are hoping to work but Red Cross is your best bet! Good luck!

Hey remember Hayden?

I did this job while studying paramedics at uni, I wasn’t a fan. I had been a beach lifeguard in Australia it was more enjoyable.

not at all. As long as you’re in general good shape, it’s easy to pass. Not fun, but not hard. You got it!
