It was obvious that the parents were afraid of ther son, and that they could not control or restrain him. It was just as obvious that medical personnel could do noting for him until he was restrained and subdued. He was a threat to everyone. I don`t know how these officers deal with all of these difficult issues as well as the constant and unwarranted criticism by the public.

I don't think some people realize we're all people here. How do YOU think we are supposed to deal with the unknown mentally/emotionally ill people. But the moment one becomes a threat to someone else. Decisions have to be made in splits of seconds, and you thinking about it, is WAY TO LONG. Law is a hard responsibility. Because it's about love, law and all you people!

I feel like this is an unfortunate event. The situation escalated quickly, officers job is to contain the situation from getting any worse. They have to think of the safety of the victim, the victim's family and themselves. Using a taser is the least amount of necessary force and take control of the situation quickly. I did not see a knee on the neck, once he was detained, there was no officers putting their weight on his body. They where as professional as they could have been, I am not a cop and don't think I could have done anything different. They tried several de-escalation techniques for over 10 minutes before the taser was deployed. According to the Autopsy report, tasing him alone was not what single handedly killed the man, there was other contributing factors.

What exactly did the parents want when they called 911? The mother sounds unsure herself. If you don't think he's a physical threat to you, DO NOT call the police; don't call for EMT or fire either because their job is not to deal with people who don't want to be helped. Only thing officers could have done better was roll him on his side and check breathing as soon as they had him secure, so that they could begin chest compressions before medics arrive on scene.

Also, I know most police forces would not have allowed the individual to go into adjacent rooms where they loose direct line of site as they would think the individual was arming themselves. These police seemed to be aware that this was a mental health issue and did not use more force to prevent the man from going out of view. I think the police did act according to current policy in this situation but as I stated in an earlier comment, the police need another way to put people under control besides tasing.

How about not tazing him in his own home as everyone with any common sense knows it’s a lie when the officer says he was being “rushed”. So what if he was being “rushed” he was naked. Where was he hiding a weapon under his dick? So what If a cop is being “rushed” if he can’t hold his own in a brawl he needs to go run to the corner and wait for real men to handle it for him. Now mind you the bed in Marion County are made out of metal and are bolted to the wall. When you have someone in a psychotic episode they have this inhuman strength to rip a bed from the wall. Now imagine if you're a patrol officer trying to subdue that? You might as well try to fight a tiger at the zoo!

As more results are still to come, based solely on this video, it appears officers were professional and understanding. I’m not sure what else they would be expected to do at that point. Seems each officers’ actions were well within the boundaries of patience and expectation. I think this video shows their multiple attempts to de-escalate the situation and effort for non-lethal measures more than anything. It’s sad this gentleman’s life ended, he was clearly already having an extended and severe medical episode. However, I think its very evident, these officers did an exceptional job, and I’m glad footage like this exists.

It looks like a tragic situation... As a Retired Sheriff- I feel like these officers did a fine job. It appears as though his size, cardiovascular disease, and state of excited delirium most likely caused his death. IEMS was staging and came inside after 3 minutes. I find it hard to believe that positional asphyxiation played a role in this... The Coroner's cause of death almost seems politically motivated.

AFTER THE SECOND TASING THEY VISUALLY HAD HIS ROBE OVER HIS HEAD WHILE 😭😭😭😢HE YELLED OUT ALERTING THEM THAT HE CAN'T BREATH MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE GOING SILENT. AT ONE POINT YOU'D THINK THAT THE OFFICER'S WOULD NOTICE THAT HE'S NOT RESPONDING, ESPECIALLY THE OFFICER THAT HAD HIM UNDER HIS ARMS FOR SUPPOSEDLY STRAINING PURPOSES, SO LET'S CHECK ON HIM. THIS IS INJUSTICE AND I CRIED HARD BECAUSE I MYSELF HAVE A CHILD THAT IS 9 YEARS OLD WHO IS EPILEPTIC AND ADHD, SO I'M WORRIED THAT MY SON MAY FACE THE SAME OBVIOUS FATE ONE DAY. I DEEPLY AND SINCERELY PRAY FOR THE FAMILY AS WELL, YET FEEL AS THOUGH MORE SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE, ESPECIALLY AFTER WE'VE ALREADY WITNESSED A TRAGIC "I Can't Breath" Situation ALMOST 2 -3 YEARS AGO, ALTHOUGH IT WAS IN PUBLIC. WHY WERE THE POLICE THERE TO PUT HIM DOWN INSTEAD OF THE MENTAL REQUEST. THIS HAS TO STOP. WHEN WILL THE ACTUAL CHANGE COME....

I'm ALL FOR JUSTICE AND LOATHE IMPROPER POLICE BEHAVIOR, but these cops were patient and treated this man with respect until he became a physical threat to not only them but his family as well!! To hear the father yelling at his son to calm down, well after he was tased and restrained, should tell you something!! What form or method would you have used? This man was clearly having a manic episode of some sort and his size and adrenaline alone was too much for the officers. In fact, I'd even go so far as to say because they didn't approach him and try to apprehend him with only their hands, they saved a huge struggle that could have turned very violent! But please don't be "that person" who is bringing up the i-can't-breathe... This situation was NOTHING like George Floyd and he was no where close to being treated the horrible way George Floyd was treated!!
