One of the few channels that consistently puts out quality material. Thanks Corporal!
Thank you please share my channel with others and thanks for watching
...another great one Shawn. I will be sharing this video and technique with the members of our Boy Scout Troop. This is just the type of project our Scouts love to complete. Practical, simple, and functional...
thank you and thanks for watching
A very good idea, show them what can be done with what you find in nature, a great start.Don't forget to show them the 3 different ways to start a fire and have them do that - using a steel/flint, magnifying glass, and Ferrocerium rod. I don't believe the Boy Scouts of today are being taught to be as self reliant as back in the 60's when I was growing up. What you are doing is a great job, keep it up.
A timber hitch to start and end up with a clove hitch... then a bowline knot .... and a taunt line hitch...man you take me back to Camp. Glover in Oklahoma,in Boy Scouts. Great memories.... anyway this is so practical to see someone do... great video, thanks for posting!
Just the basics, Thanks for the comments and support. Happy New Year
Nice addition to an already really cool design emphasizing the KISS moto to the core.
Really enjoy your videos. They are always very informative and to the point.Thank you very much for sharing.
I love to troll people who think they know something, but the shit you do is really useful. If you put a DVD together I would buy it. Good job.
Great way showing how to tie all these knots
Thanks for the video. I just completed one, with a few modifications for my own use. I’m going to use it with a square bucket as a basket style pack.
Shawn,,, Once Again you take it to the Next Level,,,!!!! Each week you add to the library of Practical and achieve able, emergency shelters and Outdoor Life Skills.Honestly,, my confidence level has grown X10,, Only having about 6 months of CC , under my belt. From M House dehydrated food, to wool blankets, Fire Kits, Tarps, Cutting Tools and Cordage. Even my wife’s confidence in me ,, and her and I as a Team; has Grown Tremendously over the last months. All in all Shawn,, Thank You my Friend,,,, You Are an Amazing Teacher,,,!!!!! Joshua
Nice. This stuff is fun, not to mention necessary.
Dude as always, an awesome block of instruction. Outstanding
Thanks for the inspiration on this. This is EXACTLY what I needed as food for thought on how to construct a frame to elevate my YETI cooler slightly off the passenger seat and away from the back of the seat so it doesn't sit in puddle of condensation and mold the upholstery (that was NOT a nice surprise when I found it a few weeks ago. Honestly, between the Costube inspired sewing project that is becoming my insulated vanlife/overlanding privacy panels and all the bushcrafty stuff in other applications, this is going to be quite the rig when it's done. I may opt to cheat with actual zip ties for the supporting mesh, though, because tarred bank line is going to leave a residue in places I don't want it when my truck heats up.😂
Cool stuff! Some modifications I might try;
Tying the taut line or a midshipmen hitch to the shelf, I’d probably encircle the diagonal lashing in the corner. That way, it can’t go anywhere.
Also, I’d consider building the shelf outside the frame uprights to keep it from digging in my back. And if left long past the frame towards the front, they might even make good handles to help ease the burden.
Your channel is awesome. Great solutions as is, but really gets my noodle working. If you have a Swiss Army knife and cordage, not much stopping ya!
Oh, and I might go cut the seatbelts from some abandoned vehicles for straps. Lots of other uses, too.
Take care!
I thought the duplicate video from part one was useless, until I seen the clove hitch again and how to tighten it up! Bravo Zulu!
I look forward to all your videos. It's obvious you put a lot of time in to them and love being in the field! Thanks again!
I love how detailed your knot tie instructions are. Thank you from all of us simpletons 😊

Appreciate the work you do my friend, this helps me a lot!
i have to try this with nettle tree wood, natural fibre rope and a jute cofee sack or leather bag as a container. Sort of a natural looking pack frame. thank you very much for the tutorial

Luv the simplicity of this backpack...just amazing. I just luv watching your videos, very helpful with knots to cots to chair to tarps, all very useful important survival information and just to use when camping.
Outstanding! Really enjoyed this one! Great way to construct using materials sources from the landscape! I’ll try this one next time I’m out. Thanks corporal.
Happy new year, hug from Brazil.
I have to build one for firewood transferring, thanks for sharing this video.
keep on the good work my friend, wish you all the best and Happy New Year.
I like the looks of that. it looks very simple and easy enough to do, thank you for showing this how to video.
Very good looking , it's hard to find sticks that straight in Oklahoma as most of our trees are blackjack oaks ( knarley wood ) yours almost looks factory made ,very nice ! Great idea and execution. Thanks for sharing!
Always look forward to being notified of a new Corporals Corner video to watch. :)
Happy 2018, sir!
Great video.
nice! when tying in the supports, the way it’s on the outside of the cross piece, any weight is hanging on the seat lashings. It seems good to put the supporting ties either diagonally over the seat lashing, or under the end of the seat side pieces, so the weight is on the frame rather than the lashing. goodness, a bit hard to describe.
Another great vid
I think you do the best knot dying demos on youtube! Happy New Year!
SL's Prepping and Survival agreed

Thanks for this video. I hope to use it with the Girl Scout Troop I am with.
Corporal, you are so freaking cool
Happy new year!!!
Even though i currently have no use for this pack frame, I so wanna build one. lol
Very nice.
Constructed one today from dead standing and scrap I found in my local Woods. Made the Pack-Straps using part of my Hammock-Hanging-System which I have to carry anyway so might aswell use'em. I really enjoy your content and your project tutorials, ( even though laws around here prohibit me somewhat in my wood harvesting endeavours). Greetings from Germany Mike.
This is gold thank 's a million!*~
Amazing
Muy ingenioso! Lo voy a intentar. Te sigo todos los vídeos. Saludos cordiales
I have to try that. Thank you.
Great video. Happy New Year. Look forward to more in 2018.
Great video's Cpl , I might have to build one for my A.L.I.C.E. Pack . I need a frame badly and a home made/bushcraft frame looks like it would work great .
Awesome
Happy New Year to you and your family
Oh snap did this before it sucks. But it works. Thanks
Happy New Year.
Happy New Year sir!!!
Your channel is like watching the SAS survival manual come to life. Perhaps an internet downloadable for a price field manual?
Way cool 🤙
Thanks 👍 sir.
that water cooler on a pack reminds be of Bobby Boucher (pronounced Boo-Shay) from The Waterboy!
You should show us some different set ups with this pack frame. Like a bucket in the middle with 2 pouches on the side, carrying wood, cinched on wool blanket, etc.
Very nice! I always struggle with the type of knot that you used to lash the horizon to the vertical
This could come in real handy someday, Thanks Shawn....HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! :>)
You never know, Thanks for watching
Padrão !!! Muito Bom !!!
Thats awesome👍
New subscriber, your videos are great!
Good video
Happy new year
Love the video show how to make a fork branch pack 😀
Thanks!
Nifty.
Good to go !
high speed low drag
with a few more branches and a basic over under paracord weave this design could easily be modified into a hi backed woodsmans chair!
greta job!
Right on
thank you
muito bom, mais um inscrito
This is great if the frame is intended to be semi-disposable. Over time, if the bark is not removed the wood underneath will start to rot and the bark will fall off anyway compromising the lashings as well. By taking the step to remove the bark and after drying fully, it can be treated with boiled linseed oil which will preserve the wood and further lock the lashings into place. I know of several packframes that are over 50 years old, constructed very similarly to this. Love the channel; excellent, practical, and thought provoking content. - just subscribed.
agreed, this is a semi-disposable frame and using green wood will also shrink causing the lash to become loose. Thanks for the comments and for watching
