Miltec-1 rocks. I've used since my first deployment when the Army issued me a bottle. When applied per the directions, or close to them it is awesome.
After completing our Mob training In Mississippi our weapons were loaded into a shipping container and sent ahead to meet us in Kuwait. Prior to turning in my M4, for that trip, I liberally coated every metal surface of it with Militec-1. Once sealed in the shipping container, it was like being in an oven for nearly a month.
Upon drawing my M4 out I wiped it dry, applied a light coat to the polished "rails" of the bolt carrier, and rocked the rest of the deployment with the easiest to clean weapon I ever had in my 28 years of Service.
Carbon would wipe off with just a little elbow grease, but no scraping was necessary. The bore would clean up super fast and dust and grit problems from the environment were minimal.
Since then Militec-1 has been my go to choice for all of my personal weapons. That is except one pistol that I've been trying Froglube on.

+Douglas Daniels Can you explain how you guys heated the metal?

+MrHellotherehowareu as my post says the weapon was sealed in a shipping container for close to a month. The container left from Mississippi where it was 98F and met us in Kuwait where it was 110F. That closed metal box sitting in the desert sun was like an oven. We had to wear gloves to handle the weapons when we opened it.

+MrHellotherehowareu at home, I've heated smaller parts in the oven (not something a wife would appreciate) longer parts, I.e. barreled actions I made an "oven" with a long box and heat gun.

Douglas Daniels I see. Thanks for the info. I was planning to use a hair dryer. If I put something other than food in the oven, I will surely get pulverized.

Haven't tried that stuff yet, am waiting for a free shipment from Weapon Shield, gonna try that out. Gonna have to order some militec and do a comparison. Can't get over that pistol, I may be in the minority but I think the sp2022 is the best looking pistol Sig makes, beautiful gun bro. Great vid.

I first found out about Militec 1 about 25 years ago when I was given a small sample bottle at machine tool trade show. Been using ever since and I've never had any problems. I wouldn't use anything else.

I found you through the Cajun blaze- he said that you were a good guy and I have to say that vie watched a couple of your vids now and I agree with him. Keep up the good work. I just started using the SWL or slip 2000 and it's great, guess I'll have to go and find some of this stuff now.
