A "quick" stress test using over 160 Acustica Audio Aquamarine 5 EQ's and Compressors (no oversampling) in Pro Tools 2022.12 Silicons Native (beta) on Mac Studio M1 Max 32GB RAM, 2 TB SSD (no sound, speed it up to see the performance)

I can only imagine that if it was set up with real hardware all at once it would cost around $1.5 million just for the compressors and EQs plus a lot of money to run it all

I super applaud the effort! However you need audio waves running on all tracks all the time, in your "setup" you're using dynamic plugin, so when there is no audio, there's no cpu effort on those tracks. Would love to see this with even with 100 tracks all running audio. And even just 2X oversampling for compressors. Thanks!

Thanks for the tip ! My thought was to use it as usual when mixing, that means Dynamic Plugins on, but for a true stress test you're right, processing should happen at all times and then see what will happen. I may loop one part where all tracks are playing or switch dyn. plugin off and do another one for the sake of experiment.

Do this test by adding a lot of acustica plugins on the mixbus if possible

What operating iOS are you using. I have a Mac studio with m1 max and Mac Studio (2022)12.4 . also have the newest pro tools and my caustic plugins aren't working. any info would help thanks

I'm still on MacOS Monterey 12.6.5. Had to thrash PT preferences before latest Pro Tools worked properly. Also all system and user cache cleared and Permissions repaired using Ventura Cache Cleaner app.

Hi... Did you have issues with Acustica plugins crashing on your Apple M1 Mac?

Sometimes they did crash under Rosetta 2 in Pro Tools, but generally they are quite stable.

is pro tools better with acustica performance wise than logic vsts?

I haven't tested Logic yet so not sure which one is more efficient with Acustica plugins.
